The 2025 Ford Mustang maintains its starting price of $33,515 for the base turbo-4 “EcoBoost” coupe, keeping pace with the 2024 model. However, V-8 enthusiasts will see significant price bumps this year, with the cost of upgrading to a V-8 engine rising by $2,600 to $3,645.
As detailed by Mustang 7G forum members, the base 2025 Mustang EcoBoost coupe remains steady at $33,515, including a $1,595 destination charge. The Premium trim also holds its ground at $39,040. The turbo-4 continues to deliver a robust 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
For those eyeing the Mustang GT, expect a $2,600 price increase for both the base and GT Premium models, now priced at $47,055 and $51,575, respectively. The GT boasts a formidable 480 hp and 415 lb-ft, with choices of either a 10-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Mustang Dark Horse sees a larger leap, starting at $64,875 for the base model and $69,870 for the Premium, reflecting increases of $2,645 and $3,645. This new generation Dark Horse cranks up the V-8 output to 500 hp and features enhanced aerodynamics and a track-focused suspension, while still offering a 6-speed manual transmission, upgraded to a Tremec gearbox.
In addition to these price adjustments, Ford has eliminated the High Performance Package for turbo-4 models and removed wireless smartphone charging across the board. Other notable changes include a $300 increase for the Brembo brake option on GT models, now $1,995, and a $370 rise for active exhaust, now $1,595. The California Special package is now priced at $2,195, up $200, and the color palette has been reduced from 11 to 8 options.
These price hikes for the 2025 Mustang GT and Dark Horse follow Ford’s previous increases during the 2024 model year, which saw the Mustang GT’s starting price rise from $43,090 to $44,090, and the Dark Horse’s from $60,865 to $62,065.
