12 Hours -
Hour 11
I looked down at Silvey, and he was laying there looking at me.
" I know you don't want to leave him Alex, but we have two hours left," said Bryson.
" I-I know I just...I know." I said.
I wiped the tears off my face and nodded my head.
Suddenly we started to hear clapping, we looked back and the robot was clapping his hands and smiling.
" That, that was a good show. That deserved a grammy for sure." said the robot.
I rolled my eyes and folded my arms. The robot cleared his throat and pretended he was holding a grammy.
" And the most pathetic and sad show goes to.....the two dumb humans and almost dead robot." said the robot.
" What is it with you robots calling us dumb?" Bryson asked.
" The truth hurts, doesn't it?" the robot asked.
Bryson looked at the robot furiously and gently put his finger on the trigger.
I looked over at Bryson and grabbed his wrist. He tried to pull away, but I just kept squeezing it harder.
" What are you doing?" he whispered.
" Calm down," I whispered.
He looked at me and sighed. I looked down at his finger and he slowly slid it off the trigger. Bryson looked at the robot then started to walk towards the energy source room.
" Where do you think you're going?" the robot asked.
" Into this room," Bryson said crossing his arms.
" Not if I can help it." said the robot.
Bryson raised his gun and pointed it at the robot. " Who's going to stop me?" Bryson asked.
I put my hand on my forehead and sighed.
" They will." The robot said pointing behind us.
We turned around and there were five angry robots with their arms pointing at us.
" Crap," said Bryson.
" Good job Bryson, we are gonna get murdered by a bunch of robots because you couldn't control yourself," I said.
" He called them over because we're here," he said.
I rolled my eyes and raised my gun. Bryson looked over at my wrist and smiled.
" Your watch," he said.
I looked over at my watch. " What about it?" I asked.
" It stops time, you can use it," said Bryson.
" And what would I do? I can't just move the robots around." I said.
" Fine, I have a plan," Bryson said.
" What is it?" I asked.
" When I yell now, use your watch and move me into the room and lock the door," he said.
" Ok," I said.
We both turned and looked at the five robots and put our finger on the trigger.
" Eat lead metal bones," said Bryson.
Bryson aimed at the robot in the middle and pulled the trigger. The robot raised his arm and shot his laser at the bullet.
" I hope you have a plan B," I said.
Bryson looked over at me and shook his head.
" Look through your bag for more gadgets," I said.
Bryson nodded his head and began to look through his bag. He pulled out a round, flat object that had hexagons all over it.
" What's that?" I asked.
" I don't know, but look through your bag to see if you have one too," he said.
I nodded my head and rummaged through my bag and I did, in fact, found the same object Bryson had in his hand. I ran my thumb on the surface of the object.
" What is this?" I asked.
" I don't know," said Bryson.
Bryson touched the back of the object and then looked at his finger weird.
" The back is sticky," he said.
" Maybe it's supposed to go on our clothes," I said.
Bryson stuck the object on the right side of his shirt.
" Yeah, I think you're right," he said.
The top of the object was three dimensional but the back was flat.
" Put it on your shirt," he said.
I put the gadget on my shirt and as soon I put it on I looked up and the robot on the far right powered his laser up and shot it at me. I blinked my eyes and when I opened then....well off course the slow-motion effect started. I looked at the robot dead into its eyes and weaved to the left knocking Bryson over.
Bryson landed on his stomach and then he flung up to the ceiling. I looked at him lying on the ceiling as I slowly fell to the ground.
Bryson opened his eyes and as soon as he noticed I was on the floor and he was on the ceiling he started to freak out.
" A-Alex!" he yelled.
I looked at him in total confusion.
" H-how did you do that?" I asked.
" I-I don't know. I just fell and then--"
Bryson looked down at the gadget on his chest and rubbed it slowly. He put his index finger on it and pressed down on it. Bryson immediately fell down to the ground flat on his face.
" So it's the round black thingy," he said.
I looked down at the black rounded gadget on my chest and look at Bryson.
" That is so cool!" I said.
I brushed the dirt off my shirt and got up off the ground.
" You need help?" I asked.
" Mmm, in a minute. I just wanna lay here for a second," he said.
I looked over at the robots and they all started to power up their lasers. I looked back at Bryson, and I slowly looked back at the robots and they all shot their lasers at us at the same time. I quickly grabbed Bryson's ankle and pressed the gadgets on my chest.
" Ahhhh!" Bryson screamed.
Bryson and I slammed into the ceiling.
" Holy," Bryson said.
" Sorry, if I didn't do that we would have been killed," I said.
" Thank you.....I guess," he said.
My eyes were still rolling around and I was extremely dizzy. The robots were still on the ground trying to register what had happened.
" Bryson, hurry up," I said.
" I literally just slammed onto the ceiling then back on the floor, then right back onto the ceiling and you're asking me to hurry up?" Bryson rolled over and sighed. " I think not," he said.
I looked down and one of the robots looked up at me and dead into my eyes.
He raised his arm and aimed right at my chest.
" B-Bryson, hurry up!" I said.
" Give me a--"
" For the love of god Bryson, that robot is aiming right at me! Hurry up!" I yelled.
The robot-powered up its arm and shot right at me. I looked at Bryson then pressed the gadget on my chest and fell to the ground. Bryson looked at me from the ceiling and pressed his gadget and fell, but he fell on his feet.
" How did you do that without falling on your face?" I asked.
" I mean after falling on your face a couple of times, you kinda wanna start learning to land like a cat," said Bryson.
Bryson looked at the robots that were pointing all their arms at us and helped me up off the ground.
" Ok, we need to quickly replace other gadgets to help us defeat these robots," he said.
" And how are we supposed to do that exactly?" I asked.
I looked at the angry robots that were prepared to destroy us when we moved, then looked back and raised my eyebrows.
" We have less than two hours to cut their energy source and stop the rockets from launching worldwide," said Bryson.
" And, We still have to worry about those robots," I said.
" Don't forget there are more coming," he said.
" Oh, thanks for reminding me," I said.
" No problem," said Bryson with a smile.
" I was being sarcastic!" I said.
" Mmmm, you should really work on that," he replied.
I looked at the robots and squinted my eyes and then looked back at Bryson.
" You need to hurry up and look for something useful in that bag while I distract them," I said.
" Yeah yeah, I know the routine," he said mockingly.
I took a deep breath in and a long breath out. I rolled my shoulders and puffed out my chest, and walked closer to the robots. They all immediately put their arms up and aimed at me as I began to walk towards them.
" There's no need for that," I said.
" And why is that?" one of the robots asked.
" I am not going to kill you," I said.
" Then what are you going to do?" one of them asked.
" I just need to ask a few questions," I said.
The robots began to look at each other and whisper, then they looked back at me.
" Go ahead." one of them said.
" Let me properly introduce myself, I am a robot from the future," I said.
The robot in the middle leaned his head to the left.
" How do we know that?" the middle robot asked.
" Well, I have no proof, but I can help you guys," I said.
" How so?" one of the robots asked.
" Uh....." I said.
I looked back at Bryson hoping he could save me, but he was still looking for a helpful gadget.
" Uh, nevermind the helping part," I said.
The robots in the middle powered his arm back up and pointed it back at me.
" I don't care where you came from, you shouldn't have come here." said the robot.
I looked back at Bryson and raised my eyebrows.
" Hurry up, I am seconds away from getting my head blown off," I said.
Bryson looked up at me and pulled out a pair of blue metallic glasses. I looked at him and put my hands on my hips.
" Are you kidding me?" I said.
" Before you get all judgy, try em' out," said Bryson.
I rolled my eyes snatched the glasses out of his hands. I held the glasses in front of my face and looked through them. It made everything have a blue tint but that was it. I put the glasses on, and right afterward the sides extended and attached themselves together in the back of my head.
" Hello user." said a British voice.
" Who's there?" I asked.
I looked back at Bryson, then I looked at the robots. They all were looking at me as if I were a lunatic.
" I am the voice in your glasses, only you can hear my dear." said the voice.
" O-oh," I replied.
" Would you like a short tutorial on how to use the glasses?" she asked.
" Yeah."
" This requires a large amount of imagination, it will cause a slight headache at first, but it will wear off," she said.
" Ok, just tell me how to use them," I said.
" These glasses give you the ability to move people by using your mind," she said.
" Wait seriously?" I said.
" Yes, but the heavier they are, the harder it will be to move them," she said.
" I guess it's gonna be really hard to move the stupid robots," I said.
" Remember you can use these glasses for a short period of time. I will tell you when the battery gets low," she said.
" Ok," I said.
I looked back at Bryson and he had a confused facial expression.
" Who were you talking too?" Bryson asked.
" This British lady in these glasses," I said.
" There was a British lady talking to you in your glasses?" he asked.
" Yeah, she explained what the glasses did, and how to use them," I said.
Bryson raised his eyebrows and nodded his head. I was about to respond to Bryson's body language, but I suddenly heard one of the robot's power up their arm.
" We are done waiting for you human scum." said one of the robots.
I turned and looked at the robot and he was aiming right at Bryson's neck.
" No!" I yelled.
I ran over to Bryson and pushed him out the way as the robot shot the laser out of his arm. I imagined myself throwing the robot into the ceiling and suddenly the robots went flying through the light and into the ceiling. I fell to the ground on my side, and a few seconds after I hit the ground I started to fell a stinging sensation on my neck. I sat upon the ground and rubbed my hand across the left side of my neck because that's where I felt the stinging. As I touched it began to burn even more. The laser must have skimmed my neck. I looked back and Bryson was curled up in a ball with his hands on his head. I crawled over to Bryson and removed his right hand from his head. When I moved it, his hand and his head had blood on it.
" Oh my god....what happened?" I asked.
" I-I don't know, maybe the laser hit my head," said Bryson.
" No.....you wouldn't have hair where the blood is," I said.
I looked over at the wall beside us and there was some blood on the wall.
" Looks like you hit your head on the wall as you fell," I said.
Bryson moaned in pain. I looked back at the robots, and they all were aiming their lasers at us. I had no idea what to do. Bryson had a head injury that could be serious, and all the robots were about to kill us. I needed to take Bryson to a private place, so we could treat his injury. I looked back at Bryson and he was holding his hand out.
" H-help me up," he said.
I nodded my head and grabbed Bryson's arm and slowly helped him up off the ground.
" Careful," I said.
" All I did was hit my head," Bryson said.
" There is blood on your head Bryson, and you're swaying back and forth," I said.
Bryson rolled his eyes and put his hand back on his wound on his head.
" It's not like we have a first aid kit," he said.
" There has to be something in our bags," I said.
" We have bigger things to worry about Alex. All those robots over there wanna kill us," said Bryson.
" And if we don't treat your injury, you're gonna bleed out," I said.
Bryson looked up at me and gave me an angry look.
" I didn't wanna hear that," he said.
I rolled my eyes, grabbed Bryson's arm and pulled him around the corner. I checked to see if there were any robots in the hallway where we were at, and thankfully there weren't.
" OK, I am gonna try to replace something that can help your head injury," I said.
" We are wasting so much time right now," said Bryson.
" Would you rather me let you sit here and die?" I asked.
Bryson rolled his eyes and looked the opposite way.
" Yeah, I didn't think so," I said.
I took my satchel off my shoulder and began to look through it to see if there was a first aid kit. At first, I couldn't replace anything, but then I found this small metal box that had a red cross on the front of it.
" Ok, I think I found something," I said.
Bryson looked back over at me, and I could tell he needed attention immediately. His eyes were barely open, and he was breathing very slowly.
" P-please h-hurry up," he whispered.
I nodded my head, opened the first aid box. The box opened up and two other sections of bandages and anything to help wounds popped out of the left and right side.
" OK, you have a head injury so you would need--"
" Alcohol," said Bryson.
" Right," I said.
I pulled out the alcohol from the bottom compartment. Then I grabbed three cotton balls from the left compartment. I opened up the top of the alcohol and squirted some on the cotton ball. I scooted closer to Bryson and removed his hand from his head.
" It's gonna be alright," I whispered.
He looked up at me wearily. I carefully moved his hair out of the way and gently patted his head with the cotton. Bryson immediately grabbed my wrist and squeezed.
" Sorry I--"
" It's fine," I said.
I continued to gently pat the wound on Bryson's head, and Bryson continued to squeeze the life out of my wrist.
" Ok, we're almost done," I said.
" Are you done with the alcohol part?" Bryson asked.
" Yep, but I have to apply the ointment and bandage you up," I said.
Bryson sighed and looked back up at the ceiling. I grabbed ointment from the right compartment and another cotton ball from the left. I screwed the top off the ointment and squeezed it onto the cotton ball.
" This may hurt because the ointment has a thicker consistency than the alcohol," I said.
" Mmmm," said Bryson.
I moved Bryson's hair out of the way and I began to pat the ointment onto his head. Bryson immediately grabbed my wrist after I started patting his head.
" Can you grab my left wrist, because this one is starting to tingle," I said.
" Oh dang, I didn't realize I was squeezing so hard," he said.
" Don't worry about. We need to get your head taken care of before we even think about facing those robots again." I said.
" Mmm, yeah." Bryson sighed.
I finished applying the ointment to Bryson's head, and I moved his hair out the way so I could see where his actual wound was.
" Well, the good thing is it's not a cut," I said.
" What's not a cut?" Bryson asked.
" Your wound Bryson," I said.
" Right....are you almost done yet?" he asked.
" Mmhm," I said.
I grabbed some bandages from the bottom of the first aid box, and when I picked them up I realized they weren't regular bandages. They were transparent with a blue tint to it. I held the bandage up to the light because I noticed the holes were moving. They were actually swirling in place.
" What are you doing?" Bryson asked.
" Umm, nothing." I lied.
" What is that?"
Bryson sat up and looked at the bandage.
" Are you putting that on me?" he asked.
" It's the only thing they have," I said.
" I'm not letting you put that thing on me," he said.
" Bryson, you have to," I said.
" I don't have to do anything," he said.
" So you're saying you'd rather die? I asked.
" No...," he mumbled.
" Exactly. Gosh, you are so stubborn." I said.
I was about to move closer to Bryson and move his hair out the way so I could put the bandage on his wound, but he moved away from me.
" Excuse me?" said Bryson.
" You farted?" I asked.
" No but you called me stubborn," said Bryson.
I rolled my eyes and tried to put the bandage on again but he put his bloody hand in front of my face.
" Ew! Get that out of my face," I said.
" Apologize," he said.
" Oh my god. Are we really doing this again?" I said.
" I am not stubborn, " he said.
I rolled my eyes and scooted away from Bryson and folded my arms.
" Bryson, we have less than two hours and you're doing this ?" I said.
" Maybe if you stopped calling people names, we wouldn't have this problem," he said.
" There is a line of robots around the corner ready to kill us!" I said.
" So, we can do this all day," he said.
" No Bryson, no we can't. We can even do this for three hours!" I said.
Bryson looked at me and sighed. I looked at him, then I looked at the floor.
I started to hear sniffing so I looked over at Bryson and sure enough, tears were slowly dripping down his face.
" Bryson....." I said.
" No, I know we agreed that I wouldn't get sensitive so--"
" I'm sorry ok?" I said.
Bryson paused and looked at me.
" What?" he asked.
" I'm sorry," I said.
" For what?" he asked.
" For being so hard on you," I began to rub my arm. " I guess I've never considered your feelings," I said.
" TO be fair, we come from two different backgrounds," he said.
" Exactly, so I need to look at things from a different perspective," I said.
" I know we have little time, but we need to be honest with each other just in case....you know--"
" We die?" I asked.
" Yeah...."
I turned my body towards Bryson and looked into his eyes.
" Before you say anything, let's take care of your wound," I said.
Bryson nodded his head and smiled. I grabbed the square bandage and moved closer to Bryson. I gently grabbed the back of his head and moved it towards my chest, then I moved his hair out of the way so I could see his wound.
" I know your neck might hurt, but I need you to keep your head in this position," I said.
Bryson nodded his head and rolled his shoulders back. I grabbed the bandage and I held it with both of my hands on each side and placed it on top Bryson's wound. The bandage flattened itself on Bryson's head and the little hole-like balls melted inside the bandage and the bandage tightened on his head.
" Whoa," said Bryson.
" You should have seen it from up here," I said.
" What happened?" he asked.
" It looks like it merged itself with your wound," I said.
" Wow...," he said.
" Well, I'm done so you can lift your head up," I said.
I scooted away from Bryson so he could move his head. Bryson slowly lifted his head and sat upright.
" Do you feel better?" I asked.
" I feel better than before," he replied.
" Do you feel like fighting?" I asked.
" No, not really," he said.
I looked up at the ceiling and sighed.
" Great, we are going to die here," I said.
" The tongue is a powerful thing," said Bryson.
" What's that supposed to mean?" I asked.
" If you say it, it just might happen," Bryson said.
I looked at Bryson and shook my head.
" You sound like my grandma," I said.
Bryson looked at me and scooted closer to me.
" Don't lose hope Brown," he said
I nodded my head, then I looked down at the metal first aid box.
" There has to be something that can speed up your healing process," I said.
" I wish." Bryson sighed.
I grabbed the metal box and began to look inside of it for some type of drink, cream or anything to speed up his healing process.
" What are you doing?" he asked.
" Looking for something to speed up your healing process," I said.
" C'mon Alex, don't worry about it," he said.
" Don't worry about it? In case you forgot, they sent two people on this mission. Not one, but two!" I said.
" Alex, calm down--"
" Bryson, we have basically almost an hour left to figure out how to cut the supply of energy source, stop the rockets from launching and we need to figure out what the boss man is hiding from us," I said.
" Ok, you win," he said.
I looked at him seriously and continued to search for something that could help him heal faster. After about a minute or so of searching, I found a small, white, perfume-like bottle.
" What's that?" Bryson asked.
I looked at the label and it said " Rapid Cell Repair Cream".
" The solution to our problem," I said.
" You actually found something to speed up my healing process?" Bryson chuckled.
" Yep," I said showing Bryson the bottle.
Bryson moved closer to the bottle and squinted his eyes.
" Rapid Cell Repair Cream. So how is it going to repair my cells?" Bryson asked.
" I guess we put it on your wound," I said.
" How is gonna speed up my healing process? One, my cells are inside my body. Two, I have some weird high-tech bandage on my wound," he said.
" You're asking me as if I know," I said.
Bryson rolled his eyes and looked away from me. I sighed and looked down at the bottle, and turned it over to the back.
" Ok, how to apply the cream..." I whispered to myself. I ran my finger down each line as I read it.
" If the area has already been covered, apply it around the area. It will still speed up the cell repair, but it won't happen as fast since you didn't apply it to the affected area."
Bryson slowly turned his head and looked at me.
" Well, the instructions say--"
" I know, I heard you read it," Bryson said.
" How did you hear me if I was whispering?" I asked.
" You're very bad a whispering," he said.
I rolled my eyes and squirted some cream onto the palm of my hand.
" Come here," I said.
Bryson rolled his eyes and scooted closer to me. I scooped some cream from my palm with my finger, and I began to apply it all around the bandage on his head. Bryson began to squirm around and twiddled his thumbs.
" Bryson?" I said.
" Yeah?" Bryson chuckled.
" What is wrong with you?" I asked.
" What do you mean?"
" You're squirming around, playing with your thumbs and you're randomly laughing," I said.
" Mmm, I think it's the cream," he said.
I looked at Bryson weirdly and picked up the bottle and read the back.
" Side effects, squirming, random noises, hallucinations--"
" HALLUCINATIONS?!" said Bryson.
" Don't worry, these side effects only last for 15 minutes," I said.
" Each?" he asked.
" No, all together. These side effects will happen 15 minutes after applying the cream, then they will stop.
Bryson sighed in relief.
" Ok, so you ready to--"
Bryson suddenly started to roll his neck and his shoulders back.
" Bryson?"
" I can feel it," he said.
" Feel what?" I asked.
" I can feel my cells becoming stronger. I can feel them repairing themselves," he said.
I raised my eyebrows and nodded my head.
" Great, we need your cells to get better so we can kill these robots," I said.
" It will be great in 15 minutes," he said.
" Just cross your fingers that you won't hallucinate," I said.
Bryson sighed and crossed his fingers.
" Are the robots still around the corner?" he asked.
Slowly walked over to the corner and peeked, and sure enough, the robots were there. They weren't ready to fire though, they were just standing there.
" They are still there but they aren't ready to fight," I said.
" Maybe we can catch them off guard," he said.
" Your right, but there are still two of us and five of them," I said.
I looked over at Bryson, and he was just staring into space. He totally zoned out.
" Bryson?"
He didn't answer.
" Bryson," I said.
Still no answer.
" Brys--"
" I got it!" he yelled.
I jumped and Bryson looked at me confusingly.
" What's wrong with you?" he asked.
" You! You totally zoned out and shouted out of nowhere." I said.
" Sorry, I was trying to think of a way to defeat these robots," he said.
" Well do you have a plan?" I asked.
" No, but I know what we need to defeat them," he said.
" Ok spill."
" We need a plan, not some stupid quick plan, we need a plan," he said.
" Well, obviously Bryson," I said.
" Robots don't have plans, they have orders. All they know is that they have to kill us."
" True, but we still need weapons. Those robots are ten-time stronger than the other robots we've faced." I said.
" One of us needs to be in front of them, and one of us needs to be behind them. We need to confuse them," he said.
" What are you proposing?" I asked.
" You need to lure them down that hall so I can get behind them," he said.
" What if they start shooting at me?" I asked.
" That's where the weapon part of the plan comes in," he said.
" Ok, so far all we have is our guns, my watch, and your freeze gun," I said.
" Exactly, I know the boss man made more weapons for us to use," said Bryson.
I sighed and looked down at the ground. Bryson walked up to me and put his hand on my shoulder.
" Trust me," he said quietly.
" I don't know Bryson, you haven't given me a ton of reason on why I should trust you," I said.
He took his hand off my shoulder and backed away from me.
" Bryson--"
" No, you're right and I'm going to prove that you can trust me," he said.
I smiled and nodded my head. I looked into Bryson's blue eyes and he looked into mine and we were just looking at each other and smiling awkwardly.
" So we should probably like start looking--"
" Yeah, we have no time to waste," he said.
We both sighed and immediately started looking through our bags.
As I was looking for weapons I felt a hand like-object at the bottom of my bag. I quickly grabbed it and pulled it out.
" What is that?" Bryson asked.
" I don't know?" I responded.
" Looks like a hand to me," he said.
" It looks more like see through the glove to me," I said.
The object looked like a glove except you could see the side of your finger.
" What is that thing called?" Bryson asked.
" What things?" I asked.
" Skelton!" he said with excitement.
I looked down at the hand and realized it did have the same structure as a skeletal hand. At the bottom it wrapped around your wrist like a band, then you would slide your fingers into each finger just like you would with a glove.
" That's sick," said Bryson.
" What do you think it does?" I asked.
" Something cool obviously, but that one to the side so we can use it later," he said.
I nodded my head and placed it next to me.
" Ok, so I found this," Bryson said.
Bryson pulled out a black arrow.
" What's that?" I asked.
" Looks like an arrow to me," he said.
" But normally arrows are made of wood," I said.
Bryson looked down at the arrow and stroked it.
" Metal," he said.
I moved closer to Bryson and glided my finger across the arrow.
" What does it do?" I asked.
Bryson shrugged his shoulders, then looked back at the arrow. I then noticed there was writing on the side of the arrow.
" There's writing on the side," I said.
Bryson rotated to arrow until he could see the writing on the side of the arrow.
" Give it a command, and it shall follow," he said.
" What does that even mean?" I asked.
" I don't know..." he said.
" Give it a command.....and it shall follow," I repeated to myself. " Give a command....and it shall follow."
" Why do you keep saying that?" he asked.
" Give it a command and--" I then realized what the writing on the arrow meant.
" What?" he asked.
" You tell it what to do, and it will do it," I said.
" Tell it what to do?"
I yanked the arrow from Bryson's hand and examined it.
" What are you doing?" he asked.
" Up," I whispered to the arrow.
The arrow suddenly started to shake vigorously and then I flew up out of hand and into the air. Bryson and I both looked at the floating arrow in awe.
" H-how did you do that?" he asked.
" Give it a command Bryson. I told it to go up." I looked up at the arrow and pointed at it. " And it went up."
" Well how are you going to get it down?" he asked.
I shrugged my shoulders then looked up at the arrow.
" Down," I said.
The arrow glided down from the ceiling and onto the ground.
" Like that," I said.
" I think we're good here," said Bryson.
" With what?"
" With the weapons, we have those British goggles and that arrow," he said.
" So who's gonna get what?" I asked.
" I want the goggles," he said.
" I guess I'll get the arrow," I said.
Bryson and I just stood in the hallway in silence and looked at each other awkwardly.
" So I'm gonna create a distraction while you sneak behind them?" I asked.
Bryson looked at me confusingly at first then he comprehended what I had said.
" Y-yeah. Don't use your weapons until they start to fire at you," he said.
I nodded my head then grabbed the arrow from the ground and put it in the front pocket of my satchel. I looked up at Bryson as I latched the front pocket of my satchel shut. Bryson side-eyed me then slowly turned his head towards me.
" What?" he asked.
" Nothing....nothing at all."
Bryson's watch suddenly started buzzing and he looked at me and raised his eyebrows.
" This is it, Alex, we have one hour to do this."
I sighed and nodded my head.
" Let's do this."
