Lizzy's POV

I pressed send and got off the bench. I slit the phone in my hand into the trash can. I didn’t want Derik to come for me. I didn't want any of them to come looking for me.

I walked past the camera, making sure to stand at its center, before looking up. A sad smile crept across my lips. This was it. This was goodbye!

I raised my hand and waved. He’d know what it meant.

I hope he wouldn’t hate me for this. But I couldn’t stay anymore. It was just too painful.

I adjusted my backpack and walked up to the sale booth.

“Where to, sweetheart?” the lady asked and gave me a kind smile. I glanced up at the schedule. The next train out of here was headed to Los Angeles.

The City of Angels.

I grinned at the irony

Why the hell not?

“A one-way ticket to Los Angeles, please,” I said and braced myself for whatever would lie ahead…

The only thing I couldn’t have prepared for was HIM!
