A Song of Askaldenfirsts and Dragons. Book one: The outlanders (Part I-IV) -
Chapter 11: Dragons
Sixty-one dragons hovered in the cloudy sky. And it is not clear where the Korinsilartalanjir and Lortartalanjir were, but now they’re flying among them. The Silenta was at its zenith, but the clouds cast shadows, interspersed with the shadows of giant winged creatures. They were above the forests of Farderland. The other seven dragons flew north, these seven just passing near Forsholden.
Sixty-one dragons and several large snow argiphones surrounded the four renegades and Lisandra on her small and faithful Kundaminokh.
“I, Lisandersterna Forbrandermedlis, the true mother of dragons, the sister of your mothers, and she,” Lisandra pointing at Skarswanga, “is a falsalvgudina!”
“Lie!” Skarswanga protested, “My children and my sister’s children look how falsalvgudina wants to sow discord between us! She is falsalvgudina, her snow argiphone is too small for his kind, this is sorcery!”
Kundaminokh screamed.
“My children of the Talanjir clan, Korinsilar and Lortar, will you recognize your mother in me?” Lisandra asked, referring to the turquoise and pink-and-white dragon. They flew closer to her.
At that moment Skarswanga shouted, “Attack, don’t let her enchant you!”
And several dragons flew towards Lisandra and the renegades. Erbalar and Lisandra on Kundaminokh rushed down to the aranisoias, the tallest trees in Ermir. And Frestavisdalor, Beniktomonis and Delmirbirznaaks flew into the clouds. About ten dragons decided to pursue the true Lisandra, and four flew after the renegades. The rest of the dragons flapped their wings in the air, maintaining the altitude and exchanging glances, analyzing what was happening. Falsalvgudina also remained inactive, her large snow argiphone screeching.
“You are not our mother!” shouted the turquoise dragon, and his brother, the pink-and-white one, was nearby.
Farumbirznaaks, a golden dragon with black spots turned to his brother, a red one with golden shiny scales, his scales were arranged in a checkerboard pattern,“Wendalebirznaaks, follow me!” and the red-gold dragon flew after the gold-black Farum.
A battle began in the sky, dragons began to attack each other, spewing flames. Skarswanga with her flock of snow argiphones decided to fly away from the epicenter of the chaos. Above the clouds, very high where Silenta was blinding, the four dragons caught up with the three renegades. Ulli grabbed the neck of Frestavis, his brother from the Dal and Vis Dalor clan, with his teeth. But Frestavis folded his wings for a dive and pulled Ulli with him, forcing him to let go.
Tarveiltaavagan, a silver-grey dragon with black stripes, tried to burn the Erbalartalanjir’s tail. Kansiftomonis, a purple dragon, and Faneichstarlinost, a light green dragon with white scales spewed fire at the last renegade, Beniktomonis.
“Brother, you’ve been deceived!” Benik shouted, addressing to Kansif, - with us the real askaldenfirst, and with you a false one!”
“You’ve betrayed your kind, Benik, betrayed your brother...”
At that moment, Erbalar spewing flame flew straight at Kansif, who had no time to dodge and received a burst of fire right in the eye. The scales blackened on the right side of the purple dragon, he was taken aback and lost orientation in flight. But Tarveil, who had chased Erbalar’s tail, spewed flames at Beniktomonis, and Faneichstarlinost had been waiting for it and clamped his teeth into the renegade’s neck.
“Hold on,” Erbalar shouted to Benik, and he made a hook and flew straight into the clawed dragon. At this time, Faneich and Benik were already falling, and Erbalar crashed right into them. Three dragons crashed into the giant trees, knocking them down. Tarveil decided to help Ulli, because Frestavis seized the initiative, freed himself from Ulli’s teeth, and wounded the black dragon with his claws.
And then he appeared, a formidable, consisting of fire, like a ghost, the majestic Gaaldalksirin.
“Mah Tuh Der Eld Dah Bro,” Tarveil said to the Gaal.
Gaal was no longer who he had been before, his mind had left him, he had only one desire and it was the desire of flames, he wanted to burn it all… Gaal spewed a powerful flame and turned Tarveil into ashes. Some dragons saw this and flew to Gaal, but he burned them all.
Lisandra flew too far with her little argiphone, hiding from the pursuit, and now she felt something in the forest and decided to soar above the trees. Kundaminokh quickly lifted her, and she saw the dragons flying in different directions, and some flew away altogether, but others wanted to get closer to the fire dragon. And then Lisandra realized...
“This is no longer your miralfaran, this is not Gaal!” Lisandra shouted. “Fly away! I cannot protect you, my children!”
She flew too close, and Gaal spewed out a powerful jet of flame that turned to dust the tops of huge aranisoias, and the lower parts of the trees blazed with a bright fire, eclipsing Silenta’s light. But Lisandra on a brisk snow argiphone was able to avoid the collision with the fire and flew to the west.
All dragons stopped fighting and flew in different directions. Gaal began to incinerate the tallest trees of Ermir and the forest turned to dust. Lisandra had almost turned into a dot, following her children, but when she saw Gaal flying eastward and the asaldenfirst turned around.
“Come on, Kundaminokh, fly faster, we must have time to get the arqilunians out of the capital, at least, we’re unlikely to save the rest,” she said to the snowy argiphone. And they rushed to the east.
