After Death, Love Unveiled (Elara and Lysander) -
Unveiled 118
Chapter 118
The moment Elara hugged him, her tears began to fall uncontrollably.
She suddenly realized she had taken so many wrong turns in her life.
In her previous life, Asher had treated her so poorly. It wasn't that she hadn't thought about giving up, but every time she remembered the few good things he had done for her, she convinced herself to keep going, to indulge in the relationship. This watch, in particular, had been with her for so long.
Even when she was sick, she couldn't bring herself to sell it.
But she never expected that even this last little memento wasn't from Asher.
It was from Lysander.
'Had I been mistaken about everything from the very beginning she thought.
Lysander looked at Elara, who had just been arguing with him moments ago, and now was suddenly in his arms. He spoke, disbelief in his voice, "Elara?"
His voice was low and restrained.
Elara struggled to regain control of her
otions.
She released Lysander and saw him gazing at her, her hand reaching out to wipe her tears away.
"I wasn't trying to be mean!" Lysander said.
He thought she was crying because of something he had done, and tried to comfort her.
He raised his hand but hesitated, unsure of where to put it.
"Why didn't you tell me that gift was from you?" Elara asked.
"You weren't there when I came by earlier. Something urgent came up, so I left early and had someone else give it to you," Lysander explained.
"But I always thought it was from Asher. If I had known it was from you, I never would have thrown it away. Lysander, you've caused me so much confusion!" Elara exclaimed.
If there hadn't been all these misunderstandings, maybe things wouldn't have ended so tragically in her previous life.
Lysander, hearing her words, asked, "So, you don't hate me, right?"
"Hate you? Why would I hate you?" Elara glanced down at the watch on her wrist. "I thought it was from Asher, and that's why I was planning to get rid of it. Is that why you've been acting so distant?" "Sorry, that's my fault," Lysander said, his voice filled with regret
Elara glared at him, her anger rising. "Why do you always keep things to yourself? What would happen if you just told me what was going on? I've been hurting for so long because of this misunderstanding. I even thought..." As she remembered that she had been thinking about it for the past two days, Elara's heart ached strangely.
And for a moment, she really considered letting it all go.

But now she knew that she had misunderstood him!
Lysander looked at her. "So, are we still breaking up?",
"If you want a breakup, that's fine with me." Elara said.
"No way!" Lysander said firmly. "Even if you don't like me, I'm not letting go. Even if there's someone else in your heart, you're still mine."
Hearing him, Elara, who had just been crying, couldn't help but laugh at his exasperation.
"And what if I really do want to break up?" she teased. "Are you going to knock me out and drag me back?"
She was both frustrated and amused by him.
If he had been clear from the start, none of this would have happened.
"Maybe," Lysander replied, a hint of seriousness in his voice.
Take you home and lock you up,' he thought.
"How dare you!" Elara exclaimed, reaching out to smack his arm
To her surprise, his muscles were so solid that she ended up hurting her own hand.
She quickly pulled her hand back.
"Did that hurt?" he asked gently, taking her hand in his.
Elara still felt a bit of lingering frustration toward him, but seeing his concern, she decided to let it go,
at least for now.
When they returned to the living room, Felicity glanced at them and smiled. "Had a nice chat?"
Elara approached and sat down beside her.
Lysander, in a much better mood now, started to eat.
Crispin, sitting next to him, said, "If you guys didn't come back soon, I was going to finish everything! Felicity's cooking is too good to pass up!"
Later that evening, Elara and Lysander left Felicity's house and walked back to the hotel together.
Just as they reached the lobby, they spotted Charlotte.
As soon as Charlotte saw Elara, she called out, "Ms. Kensington!"
Elara glanced at Charlotte standing before her. "What brings you here?"
She hung up on Charlotte before.
Then Charlotte had been pestering her with calls, and Elara had eventually blocked her.
She didn't expect Charlotte to show up in person at the hotel.
Clearly still accustomed to being treated like a star, Charlotte said with an air of entitlement, "I told you I'm playing the lead in your novel, and you hung up on me?" Elara sneered softly, more annoyed than anything by Charlotte's persistence.

"What's going on?" Lysander asked, noticing Elara's annoyance.
"Wait here for me," Elara said, then walked over to Charlotte and sat across from her.
Lysander's temper wasn't the best, and she didn't want Charlotte offending him.
Otherwise, Charlotte had no idea what kind of trouble she might get herself into if she did.

Charlotte, mistaking Elara's approach as a sign of submission, leaned back smugly. "You must have realized that letting me play the lead is a huge opportunity for you."
'But she's still acting like she doesn't care!' Charlotte thought.
Charlotte knew Elara was just trying to back her into a corner.
Elara looked at Charlotte, completely confused as to why she had rushed over so frantically. "I just think you're kind of boring. I told you I wouldn't let you play the heroine, and yet here you are. It's like you really want the role. Maybe you should hang out with a brain surgeon first."
Charlotte stammered, "I..."
Aubrey had suddenly blacklisted her, presumably because she realized she'd messed up the script.
Now, Charlotte had no choice but to come to Elara.
But standing in front of Elara, Charlotte couldn't bring herself to admit the truth.
All she could say was, "Tell me what you want, Elara, so you'll let me play the lead."
"Sorry," Elara said coolly, "I already have someone in mind."
"Isn't it just about my bodyguard apologizing to your assistant? I can make that happen right now," Charlotte said.
She had been dead set against apologizing earlier, but now she was offering it up.
Elara raised an eyebrow. "It would've been better if you'd done that before. What's the point of doing it now? Even if you apologize in person now, I'm not giving you a chance."
"Elara..." Charlotte grew anxious. "Don't push it too far!"
Elara stood up. "I'm leaving. I've already made myself clear, and you shouldn't waste any more time on this."
"Wait!" Charlotte called out as Elara was about to leave. "You know my boyfriend is Mr. Blue-Blood of Starfield City, right?" Elara paused, glancing at Lysander, who stood beside her.
'Her boyfriend is Mr. Blue-Blood of Starfield City? And then who is Lysander supposed to be?' she thought.
Clearly, Charlotte was bluffing, because she didn't even recognize Lysander.
It was obvious she was lying.
Elara turned back to Charlotte, smirking. "If your boyfriend's so powerful, why not ask him to ban me? Why are you here begging me instead?"
Charlotte fell silent, momentarily at a loss.
'If Aubrey hadn't blacklisted me, I wouldn't need to be so nice to you,' she thought.

Charlotte's expression hardened. "Are you really going to go against me? I didn't get my boyfriend involved because I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. But you're in Starfield City now and you must know what kind of power the Hawthorne family has here, right?" Lysander walked over, standing beside Elara.
Though Elara hadn't let him take charge of the situation, he could see that Charlotte was determined to cause trouble.
He spoke up, looking directly at Char
