After Death, Love Unveiled (Elara and Lysander) -
Unveiled 131
Chapter 131
Natalie stared at Curtis. "My dad offended Lysander, and that's your reason for hitting me?"
Curtis showed no remorse. "You were the one who spoke disrespectfully first. That's why I had to react."
Elara couldn't watch it any longer. She walked in. "Ili, Natalie."
She walked over to Natalie's side, casting, Curtis, especially after he had hit her. He acted more self-righteous than anyone else.
With red-rimmed eyes, Natalie looked at How ridiculous... she thought.
almost in disbelief as if she were about to cry. "This is the man I married...
Grace, lying in her hospital bed, saw Elara enter and turned to Curtis. "Curtis, this isn't Natalie's fault. It's mine... I'm the one who caused her to dislike me. It's because of me that you two are fighting." "At least you know," Natalie muttered as she turned around and shot a fierce glare at Grace.
All the frustrations Natalie had been bottling up
the past
few days couldn't be held in anymore.
She shouted. "From the beginning, it's been you causing trouble I come home from work every day to take care of you. You keep making trouble for me and then say I don't care for you.
"You were the one who had the bad luck with the car accident, and you still blame me. You really deserve it. Why didn't you die in that car crash?"
Natalie had been holding this in for months, and now, she was about to lose it. Hearing this, Curtis, in a fit of rage, shoved Natalie. "What did you say?"
He was tall and strong, and his shove made Natalie stumble back a few steps.
"You dare lay a hand on me? Curtis, who do you think you are? My dad never treated me like this." Natalie snapped.
Furious and defiant, she grabbed a nearby chair and hurled it at him. Curtis dodged, his face turning red with anger. Without warning, he kicked Natalie hard in the stomach, knocking her to the ground. Once so loving, the couple now seemed at odds, and Curtis hit his wife with brutal force.
"Natalie..." Elara rushed over to help her up. Curtis didn't back down. He stepped forward, looking at Natalie. "I've spoiled you too much." He roughly pulled Natalie up, as though the kick wasn't enough to satisfy his anger.
Elara tried to stop him. "Curtis, I've already called the police. How can you even think of hitting your own wife? What kind of man are you?"
"So what if I hit her?" Curtis sneered. "Even if I kill her, her dad will just send her straight back to me. The Jarvis family wouldn't dare get a divorce."
Elara knew Curtis was a bastard, but she never expected him to be this twisted. The most shocking part was that Curtis had pretended to be so kind before their marriage. Elara tried to intervene again, but Curtis shoved her away. She was sent flying across the room, crashing into the edge of a table. Soon, a warm sensation spread across her head, and she felt liquid trickling down her face.
Crispin appeared in the doorway and rushed over when he saw the scene. "Elara, are you okay?"
Curtis, seeing Crispin, finally released his grip. Natalie, now freed, hurried to Elara, looking at her with concern. "Elara, are you alright?"

Elara was taken to the next room and had two stitches. Lysander arrived and sat down beside her bed, looking at her with concern. "How are you?"
"I'm fine," Elara replied.
Natalie stood nearby, her face swollen from the beating, looking far from her usual polished self. But what hurt Natalie. more was that Elara had been dragged into this mess and hurt because of it. "I'm so sorry, Elara. This is all my fault," said Natalie.
'If I had only listened to Elara from the start and not married Curtis, Natalie thought, her eyes starting to fill with tears. 'I was so naive...
Elara reassured her, "Don't cry. At least I'm glad I went today."
Elara didn't feel unlucky about just getting a few injuries. She felt fortunate. If she hadn't gone today and Natalie had been alone, it would be unknown how much worse Curtis might have treated her. Curtis had been so good at pretending before their wedding. But not long after they married, his true nature was exposed. Lysander sat next to her and spoke to the people who had come with him. "Bring him here." Soon, Crispin returned with Curtis. "Lysander, he's been brought here," he said.
Elara had originally planned for Crispin to wait outside while she came to check on Natalie, but when she saw Curtis getting violent, she called for Crispin. Still, Crispin had arrived a little too late.
Now that he saw Curtis, Crispin's anger flared up. Lysander, still calm, didn't even look up. His expression gave nothing away. He simply spoke in a quiet tone. "Begin."
"Alright," Crispin replied immediately, pushing Curtis to the ground. "Hitting a woman? What kind of man are you? Since you like hitting so much, then come at me. Men like you are the ones ruining the reputation of all men." Natalie stood off to the side, watching Curtis take the blows.
As she remembered how he had just assaulted her, Natalie couldn't help but feel that her husband seemed like a complete stranger. Seeing him get beaten, Natalie felt nothing at all.
After Crispin finished, Curtis lay on the ground, unable to fight back. Lysander glanced over and spoke calmly to Crispin. "Take him for treatment."
"Got it," Crispin answered. Soon after, Curtis was dragged away.
Throughout the entire situation, Lysander's tone remained composed as if this was nothing more than a minor inconvenience. Before long, Crispin returned, reporting to Lysander, "Lysander, he broke one of his legs." "As long as he didn't die," Lysander responded indifferently.
"Don't worry. He's not dead." Crispin reassured him. "But from now on, if he thinks about hitting a woman again, let's see if he can still be so ruthless."
Elara glanced at Lysander, and then at Natalie, who was, sitting beside her. Seeing that Natalie was injured, Elara said, "You should have your wounds treated. I'm fine now."
Seeing Natalie in pain, Elara couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy. Lysander called for Juan to come in.
Juan was right by their side. She helped treat Natalie's wounds, and then took her to get an X-ray. The kick Curtis had delivered had been severe, with no mercy at all.

Chapter 131
While Natalie went to get checked, Elara lay on the bed. Lysander watched her without saying a word.

Seeing the serious expression on Lysander's face, Elara could tell he was concerned, even if he didn't voice it. Elara spoke softly. "It hurts. Can I have a hug?"
Lysander froze for a moment. Elara sometimes liked to be a bit playful with him, but Lysander, though young, had a somewhat rigid personality.
Looking at her, Lysander's normally stern face softened for the first time. "Now you know it hurts?"
Elara smiled lightly, "Yes. He looked so gentlemanly before. I didn't expect..."
Before her time travel, Curtis and Natalie's argument happened a year later. Elara hadn't expected things to escalate so quickly.
Now, as she thought about it, if they had traveled back in time, Grace's accident would have occurred the year they got married. That meant Natalie had likely been tormented by the two of them for so long. After finishing her X-rays, Natalie went to Curtis's room. He was now covered in bandages from head to toe. Crispin was there as well.
Crispin held a reconciliation agreement in his hand, having just gotten Curtis to sign it. Although Curtis had a broken leg and one of his arms was injured, the other arm was still in working condition. SEND GIFT
