After Death, Love Unveiled (Elara and Lysander) -
Unveiled 172
Chapter 172
After sending off Cynthia, Elara drove home.
Ursa had recently moved to Westwood Villa to live with her.
When she saw Elara return, she politely greeted Elara, "Mrs. Hawthorne, you're back."
Elara said, "Ursa."
Ursa added, "Mr. Hawthorne is back."
Elara stayed silent.
Lysander hadn't returned for a long time. He had gone away for some time for studies, so Elara hadn't kept in touch with him.
Elara always felt helpless when it came to Lysander. Due to the nature of his work, there were many things she couldn't ask about.
All she knew was that he was very busy. There were times when he went off to do things, and she never questioned him.
As Elara entered the door, she saw Lysander standing by the floor-to-ceiling window.
He wore an army-green shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, giving off a strong yet relaxed vibe.
"Hello, Mrs. Hawthorne."
Elara, just walking in, was greeted by a young man.
She looked at him and paused for a moment. She then realized he was the one who had taken her to the hospital when she was on the brink of death.
Now, he was working with Lysander.
Elara asked, "What's your name?"
The man replied, "My name is Magnus Todd."
While they were talking, Lysander turned around and glanced at Elara.
He held a cup in his hand, with half a glass of water inside.
When he saw Elara talking to someone else, his gaze became intense.
Elara put down her bag and car keys and quickly walked to him. "You're back, and you didn't tell me in advance?"
Lysander looked her up and down. "You've been coming home so late recently?"
Elara explained, "I'm a full-time employee now! My mentor treated us to a meal. Then I dropped Cynthia off at her place, so I came home late. I didn't know you were coming back! If I had, I would've come back earlier." Magnus had already left.
Lysander's eyes were fixed on Elara. The next moment, Elara found herself pressed against the window by him.
She looked at him. After not seeing him for a while, she noticed how much more intense his aura felt.
Chapter 172
Nervously, she asked, "Should we go to our room first?"
Although she knew that every time he returned, he was full of energy.
Many times, she even suspected that he came back to do that with her. She wondered if he was being too eager now.
Lysander looked at her. "You come back and immediately care about others?"
"Others?" Elara was confused.
Lysander stared at her. "You were just asking about someone else's name."
Elara found it a bit amusing. "Why can't I ask for the names of the people around you?"
Lysander replied, "You come back and immediately care about other people?"

Elara said, "Of course not! I'm asking because I care about you and the people around you! You haven't been back in so long! How can you ask me that? Have you found someone else?" Lysander, hearing her words, looked at her. "What do you think?
In the past, he would just say no. But now he was getting worse. He started to ask her questions in return.
If Elara said he had found someone else, it would imply distrust. That would probably make him unhappy, and she would have to comfort him later.
Looking at Lysander, Elara leaned in and kissed him.
Lysander, looking at her, didn't embrace her.
Seeing that he didn't move, Elara said, "Then I'll go take a shower."
As she spoke, she turned to leave...
He seemed to show little interest, but she didn't care.
Lysander, however, pulled her back. "In such a hurry?"
Elara retorted, "You don't seem too eager to see me after all this time! Isn't your attitude a bit cold?"
Lysander pulled her into his arms. "I just wanted to see if you missed me."
"What if I didn't miss you?" She could feel his strength as he held her.
With his growing maturity, he no longer let her lead him like before. In almost everything, he now took the dominant position.
Perhaps it was because he had more responsibilities and people to manage now.
Lysander smiled at her response. "Want to try it?"
Elara raised an eyebrow. "What's there to try? You know what? Everyone's been saying that my marriage is like being single. My husband is never around. They even want to set me up with someone else!" Lysander asked, "Is that so? Who wants to set you up with someone else?"
"Trying to get me to talk?" She laughed and looked at him. "I'm not telling you! What if you'd go after them and cause trouble? Anyway, I'm tired! I'll go take a shower."

Chapter 172
She was already late returning home. It would take a while for her to shower and remove her makeup.
This time, Lysander didn't stop her.
Elara grabbed her things and went upstairs on her own.
Just as she left, she heard Lysander's phone ring. He really was busy.
She knew he wasn't exactly free.
Before traveling back in time, it was Lysander who had made arrangements for her to be sent to the hospital.
Since they got married, Lysander hadn't been around much.

While he always made sure that any problems she encountered were dealt with quickly, sometimes it was difficult to see
him.
Elara sat in the bathtub, thinking about her conversation with Lysander earlier. She realized she seemed to be getting less familiar with her husband.
As his position rose and his experience grew, it felt like she was dealing with a completely new person every time she saw him.
While she knew she was also changing, his pace of progress still startled her.
After taking a shower, Elara came out and saw that Lysander had come upstairs.
He was lounging on the sofa, casually leaning against the backrest, looking completely relaxed. The army-green shirt he wore seemed to make him even more handsome. "Are you going to take a shower?" Elara asked.
"I already showered when I got back," Lysander replied, looking at her. "Come here and sit with me for a while."
Elara walked over and sat on his lap, smiling at him. "So now you're giving me orders?"
He took her hand and kissed it lightly. "No."
They chatted for a bit before moving on to more serious matters.
As the conversation ended, Lysander stood up and began putting on the clothes he had just taken off.
The clothes blocked her view, and Elara furrowed her brow. "Are you going out?"
"I got a call, I need to step out for a bit," he replied, turning back to kiss her on the cheek. His voice was soft. "Good night."
Elara watched him leave silently.

The next afternoon, Elara and Natalie went out for spicy cuisine.
Elara found the dipping sauce too bland, so she added more hot sauce for flavor.

Natalie looked at her, exasperated. "So, he came back for a bit and then left again?"
Elara answered. "Yep, he's busy."
Natalie remarked, "That's so busy. Thinking about living like this for the rest of your life... I don't know why, but I kind of Chapter 172
feel sorry for you."
"Why feel sorry?" Elara shrugged. "I'm doing fine! He doesn't bother me when he's not around.
