Chapter 186
"Hi, Ms. Kensington." When Emily saw Elara, there was a flicker of surprise in her eyes. She hadn't expected Elara to actually come to pick her up.
Elara sized Emily up, relieved to see that she wasn't hurt.
Jack probably wouldn't resort to physical violence at this stage; he was more interested in wearing Emily down mentally, forcing her to give up on her own. His methods were psychological, not physical. "Let's go," Elara said. She led Emily downstairs. The moment they descended, Elara spotted Jack sitting on the sofa, surrounded by his family's security team.
Jack raised a smirk when he saw her. "Ms. Kensington, I offered you a ride, but you refused. Yet here you are, coming over on your own."
"I'm here to take Emily back," Elara replied firmly.
Jack glanced at Emily and then back at Elara. "She's perfectly fine here. Is there something about this place that doesn't suit her?"
As he spoke, he shifted his gaze to Emily, got up, and walked over to her. He extended a hand.
Emily froze in fear, too startled to move away. Her eyes widened as Jack's fingers reached her face, brushing her cheek.
Jack gently pinched her cheek, his tone deceptively kind. "Good job. Without you, Ms. Kensington wouldn't have paid me at
visit. Ms. Kensington, since you're already here, don't think about leaving."
Elara pulled out her phone, intending to make a call.
Jack's voice turned cold. "Don't bother. The person who came here with you has already been sent away. Ms. Kensington, shall we go upstairs and talk?" As he spoke, he extended his hand toward her. Before he could touch her, Elara slapped him across the face.
Jack paused, clicking his tongue in mock annoyance. "Such a temper. But I have to say, it's quite interesting that you dared to hit me."
He turned to his men. "Let Emily go. Since she helped bring Ms. Kensington here, I'll keep my word and let her leave."
Elara turned to Emily, her thoughts racing. 'Emily tricked me into coming here?'
Emily's eyes widened in panic as she looked at Elara, desperate to explain. "Ms. Kensington, I..."
Before Emily could finish, Jack's men grabbed her and escorted her out the door.
With Emily gone, Jack shifted his attention back to Elara. His smirk deepened as he studied her. "I heard you're Ms. Hawthorne's apprentice. "But as for the Hawthorne family, I've never thought much of them. Ms. Kensington, you must not have expected to fall into my hands, did you?"
As he spoke, he reached out, attempting to grab her arm. Elara stepped back, evading his touch.
Jack didn't seem bothered by her resistance. His tone was that of a predator toying with prey. "Do you really think you can escape?
"Now that you're here, I might as well have a little fun. I'm curious. If Lysander replaces out his woman has been played with by

me, what do you think he'll-do?"

Elara's eyes narrowed. Instead of reacting to his taunt, she said," don't think I can escape. I just want to know. What did you mean by what you said carlier?" Jack raised an eyebrow. "What part?"
"You said Emily tricked me into coming here," Elara clarified.
Jack chuckled. "Of course. I knew there was no way you'd willingly walk into my home, so I had her lure you here. Ms. Kensington, was that really necessary?
"I've told you before that people like her don't belong in our world. Why would you make an enemy out of me for her?"
Elara stared at Jack, her expression unreadable.
Jack laughed again. "Why are you looking at me like that? Let's focus on something more productive."
He picked up a bottle of red wine, poured two glasses, and handed one to her. "Drink up. You'll loosen up a bit afterward." Elara accepted the glass, gazing at the crimson liquid. "Mr. Hacker, you certainly know how to enjoy yourself, still in the mood for wine at a time like this." "Why rush? You're not going anywhere," Jack said with a confident grin.
Jack sneered confidently at Elara, his tone dripping with arrogance. "You know what I love the most? Watching self-proclaimed virtuous women like you completely lose themselves in front of me.
"Emily was no different, a backwater bumpkin. All I did was grope her a bit after a few drinks, and she acted like it was the highlight of her life. =#="Better-looking women throw themselves at me all the time, but she thought she was some high-class prize. In the end, she was just another slut in bed."
Elara's gaze hardened as she looked at him. "So that's your excuse for abusing her? How many women have Jack? Let me guess, some even younger than Emily."
you victimized,
Jack smirked. "If I slept with them, it's their privilege. As long as they don't make a fuss, they get plenty of benefits in return." Elara's voice was cold as she spoke. "Do you even realize Emily tried to kill herself several times because of you?"
Jack scoffed dismissively. "Kill herself? Please. She should be grateful. I gave her family plenty of money. And now you're telling me she wanted to die?"
"Her family's opinions don't represent her own," Elara said sharply. "Jack, you ruin women's lives just for your own pleasure.
"Do you even care how many lives you've destroyed? One of your victims can't even have children anymore after getting an abortion for you. How can you possibly call it a privilege to be used by you?"
For the first time, Jack's face darkened. "How do you know about that?"
"There are no secrets in this world, Jack. Did you really think you could cover it all up? Did you believe people would put up with your behavior forever?" Elara's voice was steady and unwavering. She had already contacted the girl in question, who had agreed to testify.
Jack's expression was thunderous for a few seconds before he suddenly laughed. "So that's why I've been feeling uneasy lately.
"Good thing I got to you before this could go to court. I guess that explains your confidence. You've really done your homework, haven't you?"

Jack understood that with only Emily's testimony, it would be hard to convict him. There was no solid proof of his coercion.
But if Elara had lined up other witnesses, especially regarding incidents involving minors, things might actually take a turn for the worse for him.
Still grinning, Jack leaned closer. "You're a resourceful woman,
give you that, But now you're in my hands, Ms.
Kensington. I'm afraid you won't be fighting for anyone else's justice anymore. You'd better start worrying about yourself."
He reached out and grabbed her arm.
Without hesitation, Elara lifted her glass of wine and threw its contents straight into his face. The shock and humiliation on Jack's face quickly morphed into rage.
He raised his hand and slapped her hard across the face. "Bitch! Who do you think you are, meddling in my business? You should've done your homework on who I am."
Elara's cheek stung, but her voice was steady as she said, "Oh, Mr Hacker. I've already called the police. As if on cue, the sound of sirens echoed outside.
One of Jack's men rushed into the room, panic written all over his face. "Mr. Hacker, the police are here. They said someone filed a report, and they're demanding you come with them for questioning." Jack's glare turned murderous as he looked at Elara. "You piece of..." He couldn't stop himself from cursing.
Elara met his fury with calm resolve. "Sorry, Mr. Hacker. Looks like I won't be able to entertain you tonight."
Jack's lips curled into a sneer. "Do you think the police scare me I've got connections. This is my territory. Nothing's going to happen to me."
But before he could finish boasting, another voice cut through the tension. "Well, aren't you the bold one, Mr. Hacker? Even the police don't faze you?".
Elara turned toward the door, her heart skipping a beat when she saw Lysander stepping into the room. Behind him stood Magnus and several other individuals.
