AFTER I AMAZED 86
Chapter

Leo's voice came through the phone quickly, smooth and familiar, with a faint trace of amusement in his tone.
Just thought I'd give you a call," he began, a lightness in his words that made me smile despite myself. "Would you do me the honor of joining me for lunch today? I've already booked the restaurant."
The hint of anticipation in his voice caught me off guard.
"Already booked a restaurant?"
choed, my thoughts racing.
I paused, trying to wrap my mind around his words.
Had he known I would call him about this?
The realization sent a jolt of surprise through me.
I gathered my thoughts, determined to steer the conversation to the reason I had called in the first place.
I was actually calling to ask about Rica International," I said, referring to the luxury brand that had just approached me with a proposal. The words felt almost surreal as I spoke them aloud.
But Leo, as always, was a step ahead.
"We can meet today at noon to talk," he said smoothly, leaving no room for discussion.
There was a warmth in his voice that made my heart flutter.
"You've been busy lately. We haven't seen each other in a while, and I miss you."
I hesitated, feeling a familiar tug at my heart.
His words held a note of something deeper, something that always made it hard to say no to him.
"Alright," I finally agreed, the decision settling over me like a comforting weight.
"I'll see you at noon."
The restaurant he had chosen was a place I had heard of before, though I had never been there myself.
It was perched high above the city, a high-end spot with an ambiance that screamed exclusivity.
When I arrived, the elevator doors opened to reveal a luxurious setting, all sleek lines and soft lighting.
The air was scented with a blend of delicate florals and rich spices, a subtle reminder of the sophistication that this place embodied.
A waiter greeted me as I stepped out, bowing slightly as he took my coat.
"Ms. Martin, this way please," he said with a polite smile, leading me toward a private room at the far end of the restaurant.
The hallway was quiet, the thick carpet muffling our footsteps.
As we approached the door, I could hear voices inside, one of them unmistakably Leo's.
I was just about to push the door open when I heard a woman's voice, high-pitched and sweet, laced with an unmistakable edge of desperation. "Alpha," she was saying, her tone a mixture of pleading and seduction, "I heard that Rica International's new spokesperson is going to be Elizabeth?"
She paused, and I could almost see her pouting, trying to win him over.

There was a brief silence, and I held my breath, waiting for Led's respe
When he finally spoke, his tone was calm, almon indifferent.
I don't decide the spokesperson alone"
The woman didn't seem deterred by his lack of enthusiasm.
Instead, the pressed on, her voice taking on a more insistent tone
"But Elizabeth Martin isn't a celebrity or a public figure. Would it really be appropriate for her to be the face of Kica? I have more fans, and I'm much mpre active. I would be a much more suitable candidate"
words stung, a sharp reminder of the challenges I had faced in breaking into this world.
But Led's reply was swift and to the point, his voice carrying a note of finality that left no room for argument.
"On the contrary," he said, his tone steady, "she's hot right now, no less than you. Besides, her fan base is largely composed of the wealthy, who are more capable of spending. They're exactly the kind of customers our brand targets" A small smile tugged at the corner of my lips as I listened.
I hadn't expected him to be so direct in defending me, and it sent a wave of warmth through me.
Without hesitating any further, I pushed the door open and stepped inside.
The room was spacious yet intimate, with a large window that offered a breathtaking view of the city skyline.
Leo was seated at the head of the table, his posture relaxed but commanding
He was dressed impeccably, as always, in a tailored suit that accentuated his broad shoulders.
His dark hair was slightly tousled, and there was an air of quiet confidence about him that made it impossible to look away.
Apparently undeterred, the woman continued softly, "I heard Elizabeth Martin was your Luna, but things.... didn't go very well between you, did
