AFTER I AMAZED 88
Chapter 88
The woman's lips curved into a sly smile, and she blew me a playful kiss,
"Honey, that's a secret. But I can tell you that I can see that your partner loves you very much and doesn't have to care about all the nonsense rumors out there,"
She teased before turning and disappearing down the hallway, her figure quickly swallowed up by the dim light.
I sighed, turning back to Leo, who was now seated at the table.
His face was drawn, his jaw clenched tightly.
waiter began serving the food, but I could sense that something was still bothering him.
I took a seat across from him, watching as he absentmindedly poked at the salad in front of him.
"What's wrong?" I asked, my voice gentle,
Leo's eyes lifted to meet mine, and for a moment, there was a flash of vulnerability in his gaze.
"Seeing that woman so close to me.... weren't you jealous?"
he asked, his voice low, almost hesitant.
I blinked in surprise, not expecting the question. "Jealous?"
I repeated, trying to gather my thoughts.
"No, I wasn't."
He frowned, clearly not satisfied with my answer.
"That's it? You trust me, so you didn't react? Liz, you saw how she was trying to provoke you. And you didn't even flinch."
I smiled faintly, reaching across the table to place my hand over his and I thought to myself.
"I didn't react because I know we're going to get the divorce. I have no reason being jealous."
Leo's eyes narrowed, and he leaned forward as if he understood my thought process, his hand tightening around mine.
"Liz," he said, his voice firm, "you're the only one who's Luna for me. There won't be anyone else. This isn't just a pretense."
My heart skipped a beat at the intensity in his voice, but I quickly masked my emotions with a soft smile.
"Let's eat first," I suggested, trying to shift the conversation before it got too heavy. "The food looks amazing."
A few days later, the finished advertisement for Rica International I had endorsed was released.
The campaign was everywhere-giant billboards in the subway, TV commercials, even the elevators in office buildings featured my half-body shot, dressed in the latest collection, holding the brand's newest handbag. The image was stunning; my eyes exuded confidence, and the handbag on my arm completed the look of effortless sophistication.
The ad was a massive success.
On the day of the launch, stores were packed, with customers clamoring to get their hands on the new collection.
The handbag I carried in the ad was sold out within hours.
Just as Leo had predicted, my fanbase, composed largely of wealthy individuals, had a significant purchasing power.
The brand Rica's reputation for quality and prestige, combined with the strategic campaign, ensured the collection's success. 15.30

Later that evening, a notification popped up on my phone-a million dollar endorsement fee had been credited to my account.
I stared at the screen, the number glaring back at me,
I hadn't yet decided what to do with the money.
Should I invest it, save it, or maybe even donate a portion to a cause I cared about?
The possibilities were endless, but I knew one thing for sure-1 was finally carving out a place for myself in this world, one step at a time.
That's when my phone rang and I saw the name of my foster father, Morpheus, written above the caller ID.
I hesitated, but picked up the phone,
dello, Sherry?"
Morpheus said in a commanding tone on the other end of the line, "I saw your advert, you must be making a lot of money since you've been doing so well lately, right? Give me some of your money, I need to pay off my recent gambling debts." Hearing his words sent a chill down my spine.
For years, almost every cent I earned had been used to subsidise my adoptive parents' backpacks and pay off their gambling debts, and now that I had disowned them, they still wanted me to give them all my money.
"There's no way I'm giving you the money, Morpheus, "I refused, saying what I'd been holding back in my heart all these years, "I wouldn't give it to you, a gambler, even if I had to give it all away."
Murphys on the other end of the line froze, like he didn't expect me to talk to him like that.
Where was the old Elizabeth, the one who was contrary, obedient, and obediently paid their money?
