Chapter 6
Just as I walked out of the villa, I heard footsteps behind me. Julian chased after me and looked at me with longing eyes,
“Diana, I know I was wrong. Can’t you give me another chance?”
I didn’t turn around and responded to him calmly, “Give you another chance? Who will give my son another chance? Can he come back to life?”
Julian said anxiously, “We are still young, we can have another child!”
I sneered.
“Don’t you already have a dog?”
Without paying any attention to what Julian said, I walked out the door resolutely.
Fortunately, my parents had bought me a small apartment in the suburbs.
It had been empty before, so I cleaned it up and moved in.
The house was on the outskirts, not far from Joseph’s grave.
Every day, I treated it as if our son were still alive.
I got up early to make breakfast for him and walked to his grave to deliver it.
I just sat in front of the tombstone and kept talking to him.
“Joseph, I made you your favorite omelet. You said mommy’s omelet was fragrant and soft, much better than the ones you ate in kindergarten. Be good, eat more if you like
- it.
“If any kids bully you for not having a dad, call me. I’ll have the teacher know to stop them.”
I sat in front of our son’s grave all day long, for a whole month, until even the cemetery administrator couldn’t bear it any longer.
He kindly advised me to let go, saying there was nothing I couldn’t overcome.
It had been a month, yet Julian never came to visit Joseph even once.
Having heard the administrator’s words, I immediately couldn’t hold back and cried on his shoulder.
From that day on, I decided to live my life again.
The administrator was right. I should let go of the past and move forward.
When I came back downstairs to my apartment, I saw Julian’s wandering figure.
I clenched my fists and strode towards him.
“What are you doing here? Signing the divorce agreement?”
Julian’s face darkened.
“I was about to sign it, but why did you post about our son on Instagram? Now all my

friends and colleagues know about it. They treat me like a scumbag who cheated and killed his son. How am I supposed to live my life?”
I thought he was willing to divorce me, but it turned out he still wouldn’t let me go.
I sneered.
“Aren’t you a scumbag who cheated on his wife and killed his son? I’m just stating the truth.
“You are the one who caused my son’s death? You should feel guilty the rest of your life and you deserve all the shit that people spit on you!”
