Alpha Adryan -
fifty nine
Meanwhile at the werewolf committee
Adryan felt like he was at his wit's end. It's been four weeks since he lefthis pack. Four weeks since he saw his mate and son. The most he hadgone without seeing them was just a few hours so at most, he wasgetting restless and the issue regarding the pack of rogues wasn'tsolved yet. They couldn't track down the exact location where theymight be staying at. It seemed to them like they were in hiding since it'sbeen a few months since the last time they struck, and it's been silenton their part ever since.
Alpha Lycus Angelo of the Lupine Night Crawlers pack and AlphaLeander Moss of the Onyx Ridge pack weren't any better. During hisone month away, he learned a piece of shocking news. All this timeAdryan had thought he was the only Lycan, but boy was he wrong.Turns out Alpha Lycus and Alpha Leander were both pure-bloodedLycan like him, and much older than him, which means they've lived forhundreds of years but none of them looked a day over twenty-five.Adryan was in a way relieved to replace out this piece of information. It feltlike now the existence of Lycans wasn't his alone burden to bear, hehad these two now, who he had a good friendship with for quite a fewyears now.
A knock on the door of the room where the meeting was being heldbrings back Adryan out of his reverie, he lifts his head as one of theguards enters the room upon allowed entrance. The guard looked a bitfidgety under all the sudden attention of everyone in the room shiftingtowards him.
The guard bows his head in respect towards the two werewolf councilmembers Elder Ethan and Elder Matilda, and towards the three Alpha'spresent.
"What is it, Shane?" Elder Matilda questions the guard.
"Elder, we have received urgent news from The Blood Moon Packdelta.” upon hearing this, Adryan's ears perk up. Now everyone in theroom becomes curious, Elder Matilda motions for Shane to continuespeaking.
"It was reported that the Luna of the Blood Moon Pack had beenmissing for the past sixteen hours, they tried looking for her everywherein and around the pack house, but they came up empty. She was gone."hearing this everyone in the room goes silent, their attention turningtowards Adryan, who had remained frozen in his seat like he was ablock of ice.
Adryan felt cold all of a sudden, it felt like his brain had stoppedcomprehending anything around him for a few minutes, as the onlything he could think about at that moment was about his mate. Itwasn't until the scent of blood filled the room that Adryan noticed thathe had been digging his nails into his palm which were fisted.
Standing up abruptly from his seat, he looks towards other peoplepresent in the room. The elders eyes widen when his blood-red eyesmeet theirs, it was truly a terrifying sight to experience. The Alpha'spresent in the room understood Adryan's turmoil.
"Elder's I apologize, I will have to cut short this meeting. I would beleaving immediately for my pack. Hope you forgive me for thisinconvenience.” Adryan said, the elders just nodded their heads, understanding the situation at hand. Bowing his head once, he leavesthe room without another word.
It seems like this has been happening a lot lately, waking up in anunknown bed with parts of her body aching and her memory hazy, before they hit her all at once, and it was the same pattern when shewoke up. Her head spinning lightly, with a stinging pain in her neck, sheplaces a hand on the spot, massaging at it to ease the pain.
Groaning, she sits upright. She hated this feeling, You know the feelingyou get after walking up from your sleep, and realizing that you sleptfor way too long and now your brain is taking its sweet time coming toterms with its surrounding? Jade hated it because it made her first of allfeel shit and like a sloth, and secondly the panic set in after not beingable to remember the details of the previous day.
She holds her head, her emerald green eyes taking in her surrounding. She hoped that the memories that flashed through her mind like amovie were a nightmare, but Jade knew she couldn't fool herself intothinking that.
"You should rest some more" a deep voice speaks up from inside theroom, scaring her as she thought she had been alone in the room. Thelights were turned off, and it was dark outside, since her werewolf sidewas dormant due to being injected with whatever he gave her, shecouldn't even see in the darkness as she didn't have her enhancedsenses to help her.
Jade could feel her heart beating fast, her hands fisting the blankettightly. Her eyes darted around the room, trying to spot his presence. Itwas then as he emerged from the right corner of the room did shefinally see him. His violet-coloured eyes greeted her instead of thepools of red.
She backs herself on the bed as far as she could, she could feel theintricate designs on the wooden headboard digging into her back. Shewas sure he could sense her fear of him yet he continued on his pursuitto move closer towards her.
Jade stared down at her lap as she felt his presence close to her, "Goaway".
"Why do you ignore it?" he asks suddenly, capturing her full attention. She turns to stare up at him from her seated position on the bed.
She knew exactly what he was talking about, but she turned a blind eyeto it. She felt it before too but she had other pressing matters on hermind at that moment. "I don't know what you are talking about" shereplies, not breaking eye contact, and neither does he. His violet-coloured eyes had the ability to hypnotise like no other, so much sothat at times she had to remind herself that she already had a mate.
"I don't seem to understand if you're a fool or whether you are actinglike one” even though he said those words, his eyes seem to saysomething else. Both of them were aware of the fact that she knewwhat they were talking about. He waits for her reply when he receivesnone, he turns back to leave.
Frustrated by being stuck in this unknown place, standing up, she blurtsout. "If I acknowledge this fake bond of yours which you probablycreated using black magic to trick me, say if I acknowledged for even amere second that we are mates, would you set me free?" her eyebrowsfurrowed, palms fisted, and chest heaving as she inhales and exhalesdeep breaths. Being in a room alone with him, she feels like there isn'tenough oxygen for her to breathe.
He turns around to face her, Jade almost takes a step back in fear asshe takes in his now red-coloured eyes. He's standing before her in aflash, using his vampire speed. Standing extremely close to her, Jadeopens her mouth in shock, unable to form any words at their proximity.Gulping, she takes a step back to get away from him, only for him totake one step forward, this continues until her back hits the wall, andwith nowhere else to go, she's trapped between him and the wall. Histowering frame looms over her.
Her eyes move towards his, on their own accord, He lifts his hand, hisfingers close to her face. Jade closes her eyes in fear. Was he going tochoke her to death? but his next actions surprise her as she feels afeathery touch on her temple, sparks ignite upon his touch as hermouth drops open in shock at her reaction to his touch.
The feathery trail continues down till they reach her chin, unbeknownstto herself, her head turns itself to lean towards his touch, his fingerslowly trails down towards the top of her chest, and suddenly stops.Leaning closer to her so that his mouth was aligned with her ears, hewhispers, "Do you still believe that what you feel upon my touch is ahoax?" her heart beats feel loud even to her own ears. She didn't evenwant to know what they might sound to him with his Vampire hearing.Moving back so that they were facing each other once again, his gazemoves from her heaving chest to the hand that seemed to clutch hishands in a tight hold. Following his gaze, Jade immediately releases herhold on him, she wasn't even aware of the fact that she was holdingonto him. She pushes him back as anger takes over her previous state. She couldn't believe that she behaved in such a way for him, reacted tohis touch without even fighting back.
His red eyes stare back at her angry green ones. "You could never holda candle to Adryan." she pits out.
His eyes darken hearing her words, and emotions like anger andsadness swirl in his eyes which leaves Jade confused. The next moment, she's standing alone inside the room, with no traces of his presence.Jade slides down the wall her back was pressed against, her handsencircling her folded legs. As Jade mulled over what just happened, sherealized something.
She didn't even know who he was or what his name was.
