Chapter 2

'I Am in love with the shape of you push an..." Omg who was calling methis early on a Sunday?

I groaned in frustration and picked up my phone.

" Hi bitch!" Marinda greeted me cheerfully.

"Seriously Marinda? You are calling me this early on a Sunday! Whenyou know my beauty sleep is so important?” I asked her.

"It's eleven o clock honey and you have lunch at my house todayremember?" She asked me giggling.

Oh shit I totally forgot. Last night I had came back so late that I hadtotally forgot to put the seven alarms that woke me up. I quickly gotout of bed and took a quick shower.

After fifteen minutes I was ready. I wore a white sleevless shirt andpaired it with my black skirt and white sneakers. After putting my hair ina pony and applying some mascara and lip gloss I was finally done. Iknew I totally looked like a tennis player but I kinda liked the vibe.

I quickly ran downstairs and was greeted by a very angry mom. She wasvery strict about being punctual. We soon sat in the car and reachedMarindas house.

Marinda's mom Grace came to open the door and engulfed me in atight hug.

"Happy Birthday darling " She wished me cheerfully.

I smiled at her and then we entered. Their house was like a mansion. Ithad three floors and twenty bedrooms. Grace had a passion for interiordesigning so she had designed it all herself.

"Hey Sydney!" Greeted Marinda

"Hey dude are you okay?, were you able to sneak back in or did he replaceyou?" I whispered in her ear.

"Oh its no problem, we did some trading and I saved myself from somegrounding.” She giggled.

Well that was weird.

"Oh and by the way I want you to meet someone.” she said and shetook me to the kitchen

And in the kitchen I found the cutest little chef stirring a cupcake better.She had her tongue out as she stirred in full concentration. Her blondecurls fell onto her eyes but she was still adamant to stir that batter."This is my cousin Alice, her parents have gone for some business soshe is staying with us. I told her that today is your birthday and shewanted to make you some cupcakes.” Marinda told me.

"I think I can mix the rest of the batter Alice.” Said Marinda as she madeher way to her.

"But..." She started but stopped when she saw me.

"Is this Sydney?" She asked Marinda, her eyes beaming with happiness."I believe she is." Marinda smiled.

"Happy Birthday!" She smiled and came and hugged me.

I bent down and hugged her back. Kids were my weakness. I justcoudnt resist their cute smiles.

But when I hugged her, she whispered that she needs to take mesomewhere and started to drag me out of the kitchen and towards thestairs.

"Where are you taking me Alice? "I asked her.

"Come on I'll show you something" she replied excitedly.

"But what?" I asked her, clearly amused by her.

"I saw your picture in one of the rooms today." She told me. By now wehad reached up the stairs.

"That must be Marindas ro..." I started but instead she took me to theroom next to hers.

I had never been in that room before, for some reason it had alwaysbeen locked. As I stepped into that room, I instantly fell in love. It had avery mordern and cozy vibe. The walls were black and a white bed wasplaced in between. It had a small book shelf with some black velvetsofas and a fire place in between that I was sure Grace had designed."Are you sure you saw my picture in this room Alice?" I asked her.

"Yes yes look there it is." She said as she took me towards the drawersand pulled open the first one. And indeed in there was a photo of meand Marinda. This was taken last year when we both had gone to thecarnival that took place in our town. Marinda had framed it and put thispicture in her room. But what confused me was that what was thatpicture doing in this room.

* Alice darling, whose room is this?" I asked her.

Before she could reply, a husky voice interrupted her.

"This is my room." He replied. And infront of me stood Marindasbrother just in towel. His hair tousled over his forehead and his blueeyes stared intensly into mine. My eyes automatically fell onto his bodyand man did he have some abs.

"Umm I must get going." I whispered when I realised that I was onceagain gawking at hiM.

"Did I say you can leave?" He said and I immediately stopped.

I could feel his presence behind me now and all the hair on my bodyhad stood up with a weird excitement.

"Turn around Sydney." He whispered.

And automatically my body turned towards him.

He was now standing infront of me. I could feel his minty breathe. Myheart raced as I felt his arms snake around my waist. His eyes never leftmine as his hand came up to my face and caressed my cheek.

"What are you doing?" I whispered still entraced by him.

"Touching whats mine."

"Marinda Marinda, Sydney and Dorian are doing gross things upstairs!"I heard Alice yell as she ran away from the room.
