Alpha Queen
Chapter 62

Liviana’s POV

It was a long and tiring day.

You’d think that all those training over night would prepare my stamina for a whole day in an amusement park but it didn’t.

I was exhausted.

I felt like I trained for 3 straight days without a break.

But I felt happy though.

The happiest I’ve been in a while.

“Did you have fun?” Luan asked me as he put on his seat belt. I nodded with a smile on my face.

“I did. Did you?” I asked nervously and he nodded with a smile.

“Of course I did” he said and I smiled.

It was already getting dark and the sky looked amazing as the sun set.

“I guess we’re heading home now?” I said sounding a little disappointed.

Luan shook his head.

“Not yet, baby. We have one more on the list in our little adventure” he said and gave me a smile.

My heart skipped a beat.

It’s been doing that since earlier today.

I might need to get checked in the hospital tomorrow because I either have a heart disease or I’m out of my mind.

We drove to the direction that I knew way too well.

I glanced at Luan but he only smiled.

After a while, he stopped the car at a clearing and he opened the door for me and we got down.

Luan offered his hand to hold mine and I accepted it as we started walking deeper into the woods and into the river.

It’s been a while.

My eyes widened when I saw the set up by the platform.

There was a path of roses and candles in the platform leading up to a table for two.

“I know that you’re not the romantic type. But I am” Luan whispered into my ears in a husky voice.

I felt shivers down my spine and my whole body heat up.

I gulped.

Did I just get turned on by Luan?

“Uhuh. We most definitely just did” Amaris butt in and I quickly pushed her to the back of my mind.

She’s a talker now huh.

She could’ve given me that type of energy a while back but she didn’t.

What a wolf she is.

“Come on” Luan said as he guided me to cross the platform with him.

Luan pulled the seat for me and I sat down as I admired the whole set up.

It was beautiful.

The moon itself added an ethereal effect on the whole scenario.

It was really breathtaking.

It’s true that I’m not into this kind of things.

I’m not the biggest fans of romantic dates and fancy dinners.

I’m not too fond of physical touch and affection either.

But this…

This feels right.

“Do you like it?” Luan asked me and I smiled.

“I love it. Thank you” I admitted and he smiled widely.

“I’m glad” he said as we stared into each other’s eyes.

For a moment, my eyes glowed gold and his glowed green letting us know that our wolves are present in the situation.

It was indeed an amazing moment and I felt something funny in my stomach once more.

That’s another thing that I need to get checked too.

I think something is certainly wrong with my internal organs.

Luan reached out for the metal cover in the table revealing some stake and I chuckled.

“Now that’s what you call effort. You had your personal chef hooked on this one huh” I teased him and he chuckled.

“There’s more people involved in setting this up that just the chef” he said and winked.

I laughed.

“Way to abuse your power” I joked and we both laughed.

I felt really comfortable around him now.

Luan was better than I expected him to be.

Or atleast he had changed into a better person when we met and argued more than I could remember.

We started eating.

“You’re awfully good at this, you know? I’m guessing you’ve done this a lot in the past” I said and got annoyed at the question.

But has he?

Has he ever prepared a date like this with other girls he’s met over the years?

Luan chuckled.

“This is my first, Liviana. I would never go through so much effort to please someone who I know isn’t the one for me” he said as he eyed me.

“It’s just you. It will always be just you” he said and my heart started racing once more at his words.

How can those simple words have so much effect on me?

“Oh really now?” I said trying to compose myself. Luan nodded.

“Yes. Just you” he said again and I hid the smile that tried to creep on my face.

“How did you do it?” I asked curiously.

If this really was his first time, it’s absolutely amazing how he made it so…special.

So memorable.

So perfect.

“Well, there’s Cassandra and then the twins. Those guys know a lot of things about dating because they dated so many times before” Luan shrugged.

Of course, it would be his cousins.

Why didn’t I even think of that?

“They did a great job at helping you” I told him and he nodded.

“Yeah. It cost me a new gaming set up, a new car and a Saturday shopping spree” he chuckled and my mouth gaped open in amusement.

Of course it had a price.

“It’s all worth it though. As long it’s for you. Plus, it’s really nothing if I think about it” Luan shrugged as I eyed him.

Sometimes I forget that this man is an actual prince.

A royalty.

I mean, I am too but I don’t really live my life in luxury now, do I?

We finished off our dinner and then we sat down by the the edge of the platform as we looked up at the night sky.

The night was so beautiful.

I’ll surely want to remember this my whole life.

And I probably will.

No doubt about that.

“You look even more beautiful this close” Luan suddenly said and I looked at him as our eyes met.

I guess he wasn’t really staring at the moon.

The thought made my heart flutter as I stared at him.

“I love this side of you, Liviana” he said lovingly.

“I love how carefree and happy you are today. For the first time since we met, this is the most you’ve shown me of who you are as a person and not as Crescent Moon pack’s Alpha” he continued as he reached out to touch my face.

I felt that spark as his skin touched mine.

It made Amaris rejoice.

“I think I’ve always admired everything about you. Even the reckless you” he kept going.

I felt like my heart was going to burst any moment.

“Yes, you worry me. A lot. But it’s a part of you that I know no one can ever change. And I love that about you. How you always seem to stand your ground” he said as he stared straight into my eyes.

I bit my lower l*p as I gulped.

“I know that we still have a lot to go through. It will be a long journey. But I know it will be a good one. As long as it’s with you” he said as he smiled.

I didn’t know exactly what to say.

Or how to react.

“Why?” I blurted out. Luan looked confused for a moment.

“Why me? I always pushed you away. Refused to submit to you. Despite all that, you pursued me. Why?” I asked him.

It was a question that has been lingering in my mind for a long time.

I wasn’t exactly the greatest mate to be.

Hell I wasn’t even near great.

I was closer to being the worst than being the best.

“What do you mean why?” Luan chuckled. I gulped as I took a deep breath.

“Is it because of the mate bond?” I asked him straightforwardly.

Luan tilted his head a bit to the side as if trying to read what’s on my mind.

Then, he shook his head.

“As much as I want to make myself believe that it’s just because of that, it’s not” he said seriously.

“At first, maybe it was. We didn’t know each other well that time, so all we had between us was the mate bond and nothing else” he said.

That’s true.

“Bit then I got to see a side of you that I never thought any she-wolf would ever have” he explained.

I eyed him curiously.

“You’re independent, in control, loyal, dedicated and well, reckless. You also have the biggest heart for your people” he continued.

The way he talked so highly of me made me want to swoon.

“You’re strong, fierce and fearless. At such a young age, you started to not only rule your pack but you also protected them from harm” he said and I saw that spark in his eyes as he talked about me.

“You’re amazing, Liviana. You’re amazing and so much more” Luan finally said.

I took a deep breath.

“You talk so highly of me even after everything I have done to you” I said guilty.

Luan gave me an assuring smile as he held my hand this time.

“What happened then doesn’t matter that much now. As long as we’re good now, that’s all that ever matters” he said and I smiled.

“I really don’t deserve you, you know that?” I blurted out and Luan’s brows furrowed.

“Don’t say that. It’s me who doesn’t deserve you” he said and I shook my head.

“Let’s not lie to each other” I chuckled and then looked at him seriously.

“I can’t promise anything to you, Luan”I started as I lightly squeezed his hands.

“But I will try. I will try to be a better mate to you” I said and I saw his eyes glow green as he smiled happily.

At that moment, I just wanted to k**s him.

I wanted to k**s my mate.

And that’s exactly what I did.

I pulled Luan to me and our lips met.

I saw the sudden shock in his face but it was gone as quickly as it appeared as he responded to the k**s.

It was a long passionate k**s.

One that was filled with longing and affection.

As we separated, we placed our foreheads with one another.

“I love you” Luan muttered.

I smiled and gave him a peck instead of replying.

That night, under the moon, I realized how I really felt about Luan Grey.
