Chapter 56

I gave his shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "Just hold on a little longer," I said quietly. "You've been through worse, Silas. You're strong. I'll fix this, I promise,"

He nodded weakly but said nothing. The silence between us grew thick, heavy with the weight of his suffering and my control over the situation. Slowly, I stood up, stretching my legs after kneeling. As I did, I let my gaze wander around the basement, taking in the miserable state of things.

I even let out a small sigh, feigning concern, though I was secretly savoring the sight.

Sijas, who had once been so powerful and in control, was now a mere shadow of his former self,

His body seemed weak and fragile, as if the weight of his isolation had drained all his energy.

His face was hollow, his eyes dull and lifeless, like the spark of defiance he once had was gone.

I could see how much this place had broken him, both physically and mentally.

His clothes were ragged, his skin pale, and his movements slow, as though even the smallest effort took all the strength he had left.

The strong, confident Alpha I once knew was no more.

The fire that used to burn in him had been extinguished, leaving behind someone who seemed defeated, helpless, and hopeless.

It was exactly what I wanted to see.

Three years ago, Silas had crushed me with his lies and betrayal, leaving me broken and humiliated.

He had made me feel worthless, and I had thought I would never recover from it.

But now, things had changed. Now, I was the one in control. The man who had once held all the power was now helpless, trapped in his own prison, and I was the one holding the key. The satisfaction of seeing him so completely broken was overwhelming.

He deserved this. Everything he had done to me was coming back to him, and it felt like justice.

For the first time, he was the one who couldn't escape. He was the one who was powerless.

I had just finished calming Silas down in the basement, convincing him to hold on a little longer.

After I locked the basement door behind me, I made my way back to the Alpha's office.

There was so much to do, so many things to manage within the pack, and I was more than ready to take on the challenge.

I just had to keep things steady, make sure everything ran smoothly, and soon I would be the one calling the shots.

I had to make sure Silas stayed hidden, out of sight, out of mind. It would be easier to take control if no one knew where he was or what happened to him.

But just as I was about to enter the Alpha's office, I froze.

Someone was coming. I turned quickly, not expecting to see anyone in this part of the castle at this hour.

To my surprise, it was Lena. She was walking toward me, and she wasn't alone.

Several tall, strong Gamma Warriors followed her, their eyes cold and calculating. 10:36

Chapter 56

These were Silas's personal soldiers, the ones who had always been loyal to him. And now, they were with Lena.

I raised an eyebrow, confused. Why was she here? What was she doing with his soldiers? I had thought that Silas and Lena were on bad terms, especially after everything that had happened between them. Lena stopped a few feet away from me, her eyes scanning me carefully. She looked me up and down, clearly sizing me up.

Her lips curled into a smirk as she spoke in a condescending tone, "Where do you think you're going, Luna?"

I tried to keep my face neutral, but the way she said "Luna" made me want to snap.

The audacity of this woman. I was the Luna now. She had no right to speak to me like that.

I took a deep breath and crossed my arms, standing tall. "I'm heading to the Alpha's office," I said firmly.

And you? What do you think you're doing with Silas's personal soldiers?"

Lena's smirk faltered for a second, but she quickly recovered. "That's none of your business," she snapped. "You're not in charge here anymore."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. It seemed that Lena had somehow managed to get Silas's personal soldiers to follow her.

And for some reason, she was acting like she was still in control.

I took a step forward, trying to assert my dominance. "What exactly did you do to get Silas's personal soldiers to follow you?" I asked, my voice low an C controlled.
