Chapter 49

Theo’s P.O.V.

“We were attacked last night by a bunch of those strange creatures. Although no one is killed, the injured are not in a good state though,” my father told me about the situation in the pack right now after the attack.

“What about them?” I asked him in a cold tone. “We managed to injure them, and caught one of them too. They fled after fighting for more than half an hour with us,” he answered me in a calm tone, and I raised my brows in surprise.

“He fainted due to loss of blood from his injuries, but regained his consciousness within three hours, and to our surprise, he was as fit as he never sustained any injury. His healing capability is far better than us. We have restrained him with silver chains, but it’s really difficult to keep him restrain for long,” he continued, and I took a deep breath while thinking about something.

“What did Alpha Adrian say in this case?” I asked him in a serious tone while fixing my eyes at a blank spot in front of my eyes. “He asked one of the doctors here to keep him sedate until you come back. But the problem is that we need to increase the dosage as his immunity is really strong,” he answered me, and I rubbed the space between my brows. “Do as alpha Adrian said, dad, and didn’t matter if we have to increase his dosage. Just kept him under the influence of drug,” I instructed him while thinking about what to do next.

“Come back soon, Theo. We have to take this attack seriously. If it was not about the security measures taken by Crystal, we were about to be doomed. this time,” he said, and a faint smile crept on my l*ps. “Don’t worry, dad…. We will be there soon. Until then, keep everyone on alert,” I tried to comfort my father, but it was not necessary.

“Alright, I will talk to you in the evening now,” he said and we both hung up after that. I kept staring at the same spot while listening to the beeping sound from the other end. What could be the reason of their attack on my pack? They knew that Crystal was in the Royal Pack, not in our pack right now, Yet they attacked there instead of coming here.

What could be the motive behind the attack? I had no doubt about the Senhanced abilities of these hybrids now. Whatever assumptions I made about

their abilities, and qualities as a hybrid came true. We needed to do something very quick to prevent the other attack on any pack. We survived till yet, not because we were capable, but because they didn’t fight for more than a specific time. I narrowed my eyes when I realized that they indeed followed the same pattern in every attack.

I immediately walked to the night stand as I was standing near the window of my room. Crystal was still on the training ground but she was about to return. Before that, I wanted to research something. “Come to my room,” I mind- linked Nathan while taking my laptop from the night stand, and sat down on the bed.

“What happened?” he asked me in an alert tone. “We were attacked the last night. Dad has sent me a report about the incident,” I told him while opening my laptop. “What? I am coming,” he yelled and cut off the mind link. I sighed and just jerked my head lightly while looking for the report that Killian had received from various packs in the past fifteen days. He had forwarded all those reports to me, and that was why, they were with me.

I started reading them one by one as most of them had been attacked by those hybrids in the past fifteen days. The door of my room opened, but I didn’t lift my head up as I knew how to come inside. “Did anyone die?” he asked me in a worried tone. “No…. no one died…. But have some injuries,” I told him what my father told me in a calm tone while reading one of those documents.

“What are you looking for?” he asked me in a curious tone. “Open your laptop quickly, and open the report that we received from the Night Howl Pack.” I instructed him while noting down some important points related to what I was searching for now. “Why do you need them?” he asked me, and I huffed. but didn’t lift my eyes from the laptop screen.

“Just do as I say,” I scolded him in an annoying tone but didn’t look at him. It was a serious matter, and I had no intention to answer his questions right now. I could answer him later. He didn’t say anything further, and I was glad that he didn’t. All the reports said the same thing about those hybrids. The total time taken by those hybrids from the second they were seen outside the packs to the second they left was less than 2 hours in every case.

For how long they were there?” I asked Nathan after drawing a conclusion from what I found about them. “They were there for almost one hour forty minutes before they vanished into the thin air as if they were never there.” he answered me with a bit of sarcasm in the end. I knew the reason of this

bitterness, but I didn’t have any intention of consoling him right now.

I looked up when Crystal’s alluring smell hit my nostrils. “Pile up all the information that I have noted down in a report, and meet me in half an hour in Killian’s office,” I instructed him while giving him my laptop. He nodded and stood up from the bed where he was sitting beside me. It was when I realized that he was sitting with me as I didn’t pay attention to him earlier.

“Hey, Nathan,” Crystal greeted him cheerfully after entering the room. “Hey, Crystal….. How is the training today?” he greeted her back in a calm tone, and asked casually. “Same as ever,” she answered him in a flat tone while rolling

her eyes. She was exhausted yet energetic.
