Beast Of The Moon

North’s P.O.V

All I saw was red after I looked over the paper I held tightly in my hands. He took her, my mate, my Constance, he took her. I knew one thing for sure, I’m gonna kill him! I then heard Dax ask, “North, what’s going on?” I knew he was only trying to help, but his voice only irritated me, I didn’t dare take my eyes off the paper.

Making sure to remember his name, ‘Gideon’, I was going to kill this man for taking her. I grilled my teeth together in pure anger. “What the hell is going on!!” I heard Connor yell, once again, something about his voice made me want to lose control.

My wolf was crying out for his mate, he needed her to calm him down. He was trying to crawl through, demanding I give him control so he could tear apart the man that took her, Gideon, the King of Vampires was going to pay for what he’s done.

“I don’t know Alpha, he’s just been staring at that paper” Dax explained standing next to Connor. I heard him step forward carefully, I knew he was still scared of me. I hated this ongoing cycle, every single day it seems like there’s something new that’s wrong with my new life, and it was driving me insane.

“North?” Connor spoke in a quiet voice, but I didn’t acknowledge his presence, I just kept thinking about the man that took Conny, my Conny. Then he turned and yelled, “MIAH!“, I guess he was afraid I’d do something since I’m not his biggest fan lately.

“What?” Miah annoyed voice entered the conversation, I heard her walk up next to Connor then ask, “What’s going on?” she asked, then I felt her eyes land on me, and she walked forward and reached out. “North?” she asked in her normal voice.

I didn’t respond, just staring down, not even focusing on the letter anymore, but the concept itself. All I felt was anger and sadness, I couldn’t grasp the thought of her being gone, just like that. I made a plan in my head that when I get her back, and I will, she’s never leaving my side, ever. I can’t let something like this happen again, no.

“North, can I see that?” she asked calmly, I guess she didn’t want to make me angrier. I watched her hand grip the end of the letter and lightly tug on it, I let my fingers loosen and she slowly pulled it out of my hands. My hands dropped to my sides as I watched Miah look over the letter.

My eyes never looked up from the ground, I felt frozen with the overwhelming feeling of emotions that swirled in my head. Not to mention I had to stay still to keep my wolf at bay. I watched Miah slowly look up from the letter with anger. She was close to Constance, so I guess I can see why.

But it was different for me, I need her, and no it’s not me being dramatic, I really need her. I don’t want to end up like Connor the Crazy. Miah looked at me in sympathy, then turned to the whole pack who walked over to see what was going on. “Pack members! gather around!” she called.

Something tells me Miah would make a better Alpha than Connor, no that’s a true fact. “Listen up people. News on the war, the bloodsuckers have taken our witch, Constance, your Lycan’s mate!” she yelled, making everyone gasp and give me looks of pity which somehow, only made me angry.

I needed to get away from here, I may be royally pissed off but I still have a sense to not hurt others. So I stormed off while a glare on my face, I could hear my wolf mumbling about methods to kill the man who took our mate, we both wanted him dead no matter what.

Our logic was that when he dies, we get her back but I know it’s not gonna be that easy, there has to be something I can trade to get her back. No, there isn’t. But I have to get her away from him somehow.

After what felt like hours of wandering, I found myself at a river, I saw the reflection of the trees above me in the water. I closed my eyes and just to feel worse, a mental picture of Constance appeared in my head. I cursed at myself and sat down on the edge of the river, just looking out.

“Just shut down your emotions, I can help!” my wolf suggested oddly enthusiastic about it. I guess he heard my opinion about that and resounded, “Hey Mr. Moody, I’ll have you know that I do it all the time and trust me, it works” he argued, but I didn’t listen.

Now I feel less like killing and more like wallowing in self-pity, but my wolf disagreed, “We’re gonna tear them apart, make them beg for mercy which we are NOT going to give and make sure too....” he went on, I didn’t block him out, I just stopped listening.

I haven’t even been that long and I was already falling apart without her, god I sound pathetic. I then felt someone’s hand on my back, “Go away Miah” I said in a dark tone. “Funny thing is that I’m not Miah” a familiar voice entered my ears in an oddly comforting way.

“Nymeria?..” I questioned as the witch sat down next to me with her same careless smile, “In the flesh Wolf boy” ‘wolf boy’ that’s the first thing Constance called me when I first met her, I wanted to cry at the memories. Oh god, I’m pulling a Cheryl Blossom(I love all who understand this).

I then felt something hit my head, “Stop being a baby, Stupid boy” she scolded me with a glare. “I don’t care Nymeria, why are you here anyway?” I said in a harsh tone, not making eye contact with her and just staring in the distance. She scoffed and said, “I forgot, you’re at the teen phase where you act like a child, got it”.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head, “Sorry, I know I shouldn’t be making jokes at the moment” She said with sadness laced in her voice, “I heard about Constance” I sighed and said, “Yeah, so I’ll ask you again, what are you doing here???” I asked annoyed.

She rolled her eyes then said, “I’m here to tell you how you can get her back”

My head shot up. Only to meet her normal smirk.

Maybe I can trust her??
