Betrayal At The Altar (Rachel and David) -
Chapter 98
Chapter 98
Rachel was wearing a burgundy velvet suit with a black lace sling inside. The female sexiness in hercapable and decisive
temperament was evident. Her long hair was casually tied into a simple bun, and a few strands of hairhung down from her temples, exuding a casual charm.
She exuded an innate pride and confidence as she walked over step by step without looking sideways.
She carried herself with an aura that was difficult for one to ignore.
This kind of aura was innate, deeply engraved in her bones day after day. It was as if everything in theworld was under her control. Olivia couldn’t stand Rachel’s pride the most. It was as if nothing in thisworld could hit her fancy.
In Olivia’s eyes, Rachel was just a person born in the countryside who had no power or influence andRachel had nothing to show off in front of her.
The disgust and hatred in Olivia’s eyes flashed across, replaced by a gentle smile on her face. “Rachel, long time no see.”
Rachel glanced at her expressionlessly. Her cold and steady voice sounded. “You really don’t take yourlesson!”
Olivia lowered her eyes and looked like she was about to cry. “Rachel, are you still not forgiving me?”
As she spoke, she reached out to pull Rachel’s arm.
However, Rachel avoided her imperceptibly and walked straight to Old Mr. Smith’s room.
Jane was furious when she saw her arrogant look. “Rachel, are you blind? There are so many eldershere. Don’t you have the manners to greet them?”
Rachel’s lips curled into a cold smile. Her cold gaze swept across everyone in the hall as she saidfrostily, “Those who have watched
me grow up and care for me all the time are called elders. Do you think you people… are worthy ofbeing my elders?”
Everyone present had hurt her before.
Everyone appeared elegant and noble, but their actions were despicable and shameless.
The fact that Rachel did not get even with them was already the greatest tolerance she had for thegroup of people in front of her. It was simply wishful thinking for her to bow down and curry favor withthem!
“Look at your outfit. Looks like you’ve climbed up the social ladder, so now you look down on us.” Atthis moment, a woman in a purple dress spoke in a sarcastic tone. She sized up Rachel with a faintsmile.
The woman in front of Rachel was married to Louis’s second uncle. When she was young, she wasalso a rare beauty. Unfortunately, as time went by, her exquisite and beautiful oval face turned into hercurrent sharp and mean face.
Previously, when Rachel was in the Smith family, she often mocked Rachel. Now that she knew thatRachel had been chased out of the Smith family, she became even more unscrupulous.
As the saying goes, three women make a show. With so many women here, they were enough todrown Rachel with saliva.
“You’re all dressed up now, but you’ve forgotten where you come from!”
“If Louis hadn’t been kind enough to bring you back to the Smith family back then, you wouldn’t evenknow where you are now! Why are you looking down on us now that you’ve climbed up the socialladder? Rachel, you have no conscience at all!”
Rachel gave a short laugh, but there was a terrifying coldness in the depths of her almond–shapedeyes. “Do you think you’re qualified to talk about conscience with me? Have you forgotten that if itweren’t for me, the Smith family would have gone bankrupt long ago? Am I the one who has noconscience or you people!”
“How dare yon!” Mrs. Smith slammed the table and stood up to her feet. “Rachel, what kind of place doyou think this is? Do you think you can behave atrociously at will?”
Rachel looked at her with mockery in the corners of her eyes. “I’ve already behaved atrociously in frontof you many times. What the difference does it make if I behaved atrociously again?”
“You!” Mrs. Smith glared at her and sneered. “You severely injured Olivia in public, and now you’respouting nonsense in front of the Smith family. You know that you can’t marry into the Smith family. You’re completely unleashing your nature and doing whatever you
want!”
Upon hearing her words, Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly, her eyes darting around everyonepresent. She understood something as she saw a gloating smile on everyone’s face.
This group of people did not just appear here to drink coffee and chat. They had specially waited herefor her to criticize her!
Rachel’s expression was indifferent, and a trace of mockery flashed past her eyes.
Wasn’t this group of people best at gathering together and criticizing others with the airs of elders?
However, in the past, Rachel had swallowed her anger for Louis. Now, she had no scruples!
