Betrayed by My Pack – Wolfless Hybrids Escape -
Chapter 74 –
Adra's POV Sunday Afternoon
That fucking whore. I can smell him all over her. I knew Robert was there in the obstacle course. I thought he was just training, as he likes to run the obstacle course. If they think that I am going to give him up without a fight, they are crazy. After Robert had mentioned they were mates, I looked at their necks. Sure enough, they both bore marks on them. I am so angry right now that I want to kill them both, but I can't attack her directly.
She is much more powerful than any of them suspect. Her daughter is powerful, too. It just isn't fair. How come these women just show up, and the men here are falling all over themselves to claim them? I have been here for a while, and no one has claimed me. It just isn't right. They came in, taking all the most desirable men around here. That bitches daughter is with Alexei. I asked after I arrived here and he hasn't been interested in anyone for centuries. Did they spell the whole lot of them? Otherwise, it didn't make sense.
I was not leaving here, I am not going to make life easy on them. I am staying here and figuring out what I need to do. Just because Saoirse is a stronger witch than I am doesn't mean that I can't get things done. Why should I be the one to leave? I was here first. They can kiss my ass if they think I am giving up so easily. I just spoke without thinking at the obstacle course. I was just angry, and it flew out of my mouth. They will give me some time alone for a day or two. That is all I needed to figure out how to eliminate Saoirse.
I couldn't care less about her daughter. I can handle her. She is a new witch, a novice, I can tell. She will be no match for me if she decides to step in to stop me when I go to deal with her mother. I won't hesitate to put her in her place. She better keep out of it, if she knows what is good for her. I am so angry I want to throw something. I had only gone there to speak to Robert; I didn't know that Saoirse was there.
He used to be so kind and attentive towards me. But ever since he came to my home with her, I hadn't seen him again. My delivery came from the other Gamma, Warrick. It was like Robert was washing his hands of me. He couldn't get out of there fast enough after she left. I knew he was going to go to her. He wasn't paying proper attention to me at all. I tried to keep crying, even when I felt better. I knew the moment I stopped, he would be gone, and he was. He didn't care about me, not like I thought he did.
I guess it is time for me to return to my world again and get the supplies I need. I am not just going to sit back and let that bitch come in here like she owns the place. That was the worst part, Jaxon supports her. He is the Alpha here, so I am screwed on trying to get his support on this. Both he and his new Luna were clearly on her side. How could someone who had been here less than two fucking weeks have so much pull around here? It just doesn't make any sense at all.
I wanted to throw something or hit someone, but I calmed myself down. I needed to go visit my friend Reyna. It has been about five years, but I need her help. She provides us with what we need for spells, but I haven't done any spells recently. Well, not one that needed something I didn't already have. I did put a tracking spell on Robert. That way, I could look my best when he came with my delivery. I tried to get him to like me the old-fashioned way, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
I was there outside Reyna's home, standing at the back door. She had the area covered to keep people from seeing us pop in. She had a double archway with roses growing up and over it. The arch covered the whole area to the back door. It was the easiest way to get in and out of there. Reyna answered the door with a smile and said, "Been a minute, Adra. Glad to see you. Last I heard, you were being chased by a bunch of rouge vampires trying to get your blood. Glad to see you survived."
Reyna backed up and allowed me to pass her to enter her store. She ran it at the back of her home. The arches were spelled. No one who came to do injury to her would be allowed to enter. That way she was safe from people who came to take her potions and ingredients. Reyna mixes and grows her own ingredients. No one knows where she is growing them, so they are safe. Knowing Reyna, she has them protected as well. Some of what she grows is in demand from both good and dark witches.
"I got help. I'm still here," I replied dryly. She knew I was OK. She just couldn't resist giving me a dig.
Reyna has long blonde hair and a beautiful face. Some people are just intimidated by her because of her eyes. Her iris is such a light blue, that her whole eye actually looks like it is white. The only visible color is from her pupil, so she looks kind of scary because of it. When she goes out into public with humans, she wears contacts. That way no one sees that her eyes are unusual. She doesn't like the looks she gets from people who stare at her. It is best they just keep moving and leave her alone. She is not one to be trifled with. She is a serious adversary. "What can I help you with, sister?" Reyna asked me. We had once been in the same coven for about sixty years. She has called me sister for a long time, and we have similar strengths. Since neither of us had a sister anymore, we just became honorary sisters. I knew that she would help me with whatever I needed her to do.
"I need a love potion, Reyna, a strong one. The man I like allegedly found his mate. I want him to love me, not her," I requested.
"Has he found his mate already? Has he marked her?" she asked as she glided around the room. She was getting out different herbs and putting them in a bowl. Reyna usually brewed tea to get the intended victim to drink it. Sugar and milk always helped to mask the bitter taste when they drank it. Reyna continued to move around the room as she thought about what she needed to do. She would have to get the bond to break or weaken.
If she can do that, once I sleep with him, Saoirse will feel it. I am hoping that she gets upset and leaves him. Sooner or later, he will come to me once he gets desperate when she doesn't return to him. If we account for it now, he will stay with me. He will look at me as if I am Saoirse, no matter what anyone else says to him. I don't care what I have to do. I know that Reyna will know exactly what I need to get this done.
Reyna stopped and said, "Is his mate another wolf?"
"She is a witch," I mumbled. I hated to admit it, but she needed to know to ensure the spell would work.
"A witch? Did she mark him back?" Reyna asked me as she approached me.
"I believe so. I saw a mark on him, and I believe he marked her," I answered.
"Are you sure you want to do this? Her being a witch, too, brings its own challenges. You will need something to keep her from stopping the spell. Is she a strong witch?" Reyna asked me.
"Yeah, she is much stronger than I am, or I would have dealt with her the moment I knew they were mates. I don't know how he didn't know I liked him. He acted surprised when I told him, but he still took her side. He barely knows her. They are already sleeping together, and she hasn't even been here two weeks," I huffed out in frustration.
"Sometimes men can't see it, especially if we are low-key with sending the vibes. If he had no interest in you, he wouldn't realize that you liked him. They are more receptive to the women that they want to have than the women who were right there in front of them," Reyna told me as she started mixing everything together. She had put it in a big bowl to mix it up and was now making tea bags with the mixture.
"You have a tough road to travel, Adra. Are you absolutely sure that you want to do this? This spell cannot last forever. If their bond is strong enough, it might not even work. Are you sure that you are willing to lose him as a friend over doing this? It is a betrayal of your friendship. He will know that you are behind it. Are you willing to lose him forever? I doubt he is going to easily forgive you if he ends up losing his mate," Reyna cautioned me.
"I'm sure I love him. I know that with this little push, he will love me too. He is a good man, and we are good together. I want him, Reyna, I don't want to live there without him," I replied.
"He will need to be given at least two doses of the tea to get the optimum effect. I made it as strong as possible for you without harming him. But I want you to know that if he has marked her and she him, it might not work. You told me that she was a strong witch. If it were me and I had a true mate, I would have already put a strong protection spell on them to protect our connection. I must warn you of this having the potential to fail, my sister. I want you to be happy, Adra. I am glad that you found someone to love, but a love spell can't always overcome a true mate bond," Reyna told me.
"I will take the chance anyway. Thanks for the potion and the advice. If this doesn't work, then I have lost him. The only thing I can do then is to come back here to get something to deal with her. Wish me well, Sis," I told her as she gave me a hug. I walked out the door and sent myself back home.
I don't care what she said. I have to try; I can't just give up on him. I had my eye on Robert first. Hell, I have been after him for over three years. I am not going to just sit back and allow her just to swoop in and take him. I will get Robert to be mine, no matter what I must do.
