Lena's POV Wednesday Night

We are in place and ready to go. Chase and Warrick arrived right on time, like they usually do. While I kept their attention on me as I spoke to them, Jana and Anika came up behind them and knocked them out. They hit them pretty hard over the head, and they never saw it coming. Jana and I pulled their bodies over to hide them behind my mother's vehicle. As the head chef for the new packhouse, she has the perk of parking in a great spot in a hidden bay next to the side entrance.I was happy that they would come out of the packhouse here. I thought they would. Only the ranked wolves knew the escort plan, and I had to guess which way would be the best route. I guess they got them from Paxton or found them around the motel. I knew they were hunting there. They had to have done that, as they told me they were fine. They insisted I didn't need to bring them anything.

I felt bad that people had lost their lives in my plan to get Jaxon. I hadn't thought about that part of it because, at first, Jana was to stay in the coven. She would just be coming over to help me get them out of here. But she changed everything up when she tried to kill Ivan. The whole plan collapsed quickly after that. I admit that getting Adra involved was stupid on my part. I just didn't want to get caught. The whole point of this was for Jaxon to claim me. I didn't realize that it was too late for that.

I hid, too, as we needed for all of them to come out before we made our presence known. I had sent pictures of everyone that we needed to deal with quickly. Raven, Sasha, Emerson, Brenna, and Luna were the ones that needed to be knocked out first. Then, we would deal with the rest of them. I believe that Cara and her mother were stressed and would potentially drink more than the rest of the group. The wolfsbane they ingested will keep the rest of them from becoming a threat. I had personally made up the punch for them to drink with a fairly good dose. I knew the sweetness of the wine would mask the taste of it.

We hid for almost ten minutes before they came out the door, five minutes after eight. By then, we were all anxious. We had already been waiting for someone to show up to check on Chase or Warrick. That alone has been nerve-wracking, knowing that if we were discovered, we would have to fight our way out. Paxton won't rescue us unless we have Cara and her sisters with us.

If we were caught with a Beta and Gamma knocked unconscious, there would be no coming back from this. We would be arrested or killed. So, I almost sank to the ground with relief when they came out. We needed them to all be out here first and let the door shut. I had turned the lock on it. That way, when it shut, it would be locked. They couldn't open it back up to try to escape. Finally, something is going right for us tonight.

Cara and her mother were the first to realize that something was wrong. Cheryl, Brenna, and Raven noticed soon afterward. I guess they hadn't drunk enough of the punch, but Luna, Sasha, and Emerson had. Emerson was OK at fighting but nowhere near as good as Sasha was. I slipped out of my hiding place to walk up to them. Deliberately walking to where they had to turn to face me.

"The door is locked," Luna called out.

"Lena, why are you here? Where are Chase and Warrick?" Raven asked.

"They were held up, so I came to help you myself," I said with a smirk.

"Jaxon would never send you to come and get me. That is a lie, so tell me why you are actually here, Lena," Brenna said as she stepped forward.

"There is someone else here with us," Saoirse said right before she was knocked out. Everyone was on guard now, but it was too late. As soon as Saoirse was hit, Jana and Anika started knocking out the rest of them. In just a minute's time, Raven, Saoirse, Cheryl, Sasha, and Emerson were all lying on the floor. Cara, Brenna, and Luna were standing there, pissed off.

"What in the hell are you doing, Lena? Are you out of your mind?" Brenna asked as she bent to check on the women on the ground.

"Yes, I am, Brenna. What a horrible trick the Moon Goddess played on me, not giving Jaxon to me as my mate. I prayed for so long, yet I didn't get rewarded. I had to take action to try to get rid of you. At first, Jana would be able to get Alexei back, and I would have Jaxon. But now everything is ruined. All my careful plans were destroyed because mistakes were made. Now I have to leave Black Adder, too. Fuck! Why couldn't everyone just do what they were supposed to do?" I cried out.

"Shut up, Lena! Are you trying to get us caught?" Jana hissed out from behind Brenna.

"It was your fuck up that brought all of my careful plans down, Jana. I told you to hide Ivan, not try to kill him. Your mistake started this whole plan to start collapsing. I could work around it, but Adra's fuck up was even bigger than yours. Now, I get nothing out of this. I have nothing to show for all the work I put in to be Jaxon's chosen mate. Where is my happy ending? I could have been there for Jaxon to comfort him as he grieves over the loss of his precious Brenna. I would show him that I was willing to take care of him for the rest of his life. I am allowed to be upset that everything I so carefully planned for, is shot all to hell. You still get what you wanted, Jana, a safe place to live, safe from Alexei," I hissed back at her. She was right, we are only half done, We don't have time to argue now. I will wait until we are in the air to finish this conversation.

"You were the one to help Adra?" Cara asked, clearly shocked.

"Who else could it have been? No one else here is cunning enough to get Jaxon away from Brenna. If Adra had fucked him instead of making out like some high schooler, it would have been too late. I wish I had never helped her now, but that is water under the bridge," I resentfully hissed at her.

I glanced back and saw that Brenna was trying to mindlink, and I motioned for Jana to stop her. Jana quickly knocked Brenna out as Cara cried out, "No!"

Jana picked up Brenna from the floor and said, "We are behind schedule. Let's go."

The wolfsbane helped, but these three still seemed sober. I couldn't see where Brenna was out of it at all. Did she not drink the punch? Depending on how hard Jana had hit her, maybe we should take the boards with us, too. We did need to get the hell out of here. We loaded the girls into the back seat of my car, with Cara and Luna holding Brenna. Jana sat next to them and looked like she would have no problem dealing with them if they tried something.

Cara was trying to stop the bleeding from Brenna's with a piece torn off of her dress. Brenna was knocked out, but her sisters were both speaking to her with encouraging words. I guess they were trying to hold on until they could escape from us. Yeah, good luck with that. There was no silver lining here for them. They didn't even know the best part yet. I couldn't wait for them to see Paxton and his men. I was so glad that I was going over the wall first. I looked forward to seeing their faces when they noticed who was actually there for them.

I was feeling better now. I may not have gotten the happy ending that I wanted, but then again, neither would Brenna and Jaxon. That made me happy, and I grinned back at Cara and Luna, who were watching me in the rearview mirror. I could tell that they were not happy about the situation. My grin got bigger as I drove as close to the pickup point as I could get. I left the keys in the car after I turned it off. I would not be coming back here again. We were all alert, as this would be when they tried to fight back.

We were not disappointed, as Cara tried to cast a spell to protect them from us. It failed, and the look on her face was priceless. Confusion, fear, and disappointment were all over her face.

"Oh no, it looks like your powers aren't working anymore, Cara. You can't even protect yourself, let alone your sisters," I mocked.

I motioned to Jana, and she and Anika knocked out Cara and Luna. I will get to see their expressions later. I had forgotten that they would have difficulty getting them over the wall if they were awake. Jana hit Cara pretty hard. I don't blame her at all. Cara took the man Jana wanted away from her. I understand it, as I am dealing with the same thing. Anika picked up Cara from the ground and ran into the woods. Jana grabbed Brenna and took off with her, leaving me to get Luna.

They were fast, but carrying someone in their arms slowed them down a lot. It was dark and hard to see what you were about to step on out here. We struggled to get them to the meeting place, as we ended up dropping them several times. We ended up having to put them over our shoulders in order to run with them. I dropped Luna on the ground and demanded to be taken over first. Jana smiled at me strangely, but she took me over.

I was getting my first real look at Paxton and his men as Jana immediately leaped back over the wall. The back was up on the SUV, and all the doors were open. Clay was halfway inside the SUV but got out to say, "Get in the back" to me. As soon as I got in, he shut the door on me. Why do I have to sit back here? There should be plenty of seats.

Jana delivered Luna next, and Rex carried her to Clay before heading back to get Brenna from Anika. Jana returned with Cara and they were all buckled up on the last row. Jana and Anika got in the back seat with one of the ranked wolves; the other two were in front. Paxton was the only one who I knew, as he didn't hide his aura from us. I guess they didn't have a seat for me."Any problems?" Paxton asked. Before I could even answer, Jana said, "Lena talks a lot." Paxton hummed in response. When did Jana take my place? I was the one who was leading this whole thing. Why in the hell was he speaking to Jana like she was in charge?
