Bound by the CEO’s Baby By Sun Scar Chapter 1
Chapter 1
“Is there something we can call for you, sweetie?” the nurse asked Anastasia as she walked into the room.
Anastasia shook her head. “No… I called my parents. She should be here in a couple of hours. I am not sure if she got on her flight yet, she admitted.
The nurse looked at her sadly for a moment before composing herself quickly. “Alright then. Let’s get you settled in and make sure you are comfortable.”
She nodded and cringed as another contraction hit. She sucked in a shaky breath and stopped walking. The pain made her bend over and the nurse rushed forward to support her until the contraction passed.
“I will help you get changed and then we will check out your condition, okay?” she assured.
“Thank you.”
The nurse helped her out of her maternity yoga pants and sweatshirt and put her into a hospital gown that was tied in the front. Thank god, her ass was not hanging out in the open air as she had imagined.
Her belly bulged out and was on full display, but as another contraction hit her hard, she didn’t really care about any of it. The nurse helped her into the hospital bed and strapped an elastic over her belly. Almost immediately, she heard the heartbeat of the baby in the little monitor beside her head.
The nurse felt around her belly. “Do you know what you are happening?” she asked.
Anastasia shook her head. “I didn’t want to know. I want to meet my baby and be surprised.”
The nurse chuckled. “That sounds fun. Personally, I love announcing the sex to the parents and seeing their genuine reaction.” Her eyes widened and she stopped when she realized what she had said. Anastasia felt so bad for her that she decided to help the woman out of her guilt.
“Don’t worry, the father and I are not in contact. And it is better that way,” she said with a small smile. It was sad, but involuntarily there.
The nurse nodded in understanding. She had seen a lot through the years. “Alright, sweetie. Can you put your knees up and settle on the stirrups?”
Anastasia told as the nurse asked and winced as the woman probed her down below. She took deep breaths that those online classes had taught her. Ana was trying to hide how scared she was. She was in labor. She was having a baby and she had no idea how she was going to raise a baby while holding a high-stress job. It wasn’t like she had a proud partner helping her along in the delivery and telling her how good of a job she had done. No, she had driven herself to the hospital when she felt her contractions frequently.
She had already bought a crib, a car seat, and some diapers and clothes, but that was it. She didn’t have a baby shower and she didn’t register for gifts. There was no one to buy it for her anyway. She didn’t have any friends other than her friendly neighbor, but he was a busy worker. She couldn’t ask her neighbor for company, could she?
Most of her colleagues at her job looked at her with sympathy. ‘Poor girl. We can’t ask her to come to parties… she’s knocked up.’ Having drinks after a stressful day of work was common and Ana couldn’t drink, at all.
Her parents hadn’t given her anything because they didn’t know she was pregnant until she called that morning to tell them that she had gone into labor. She had been so ashamed and as time passed by, she just pretended like nothing was wrong with her. But now, she was about to be a mother herself, and she couldn’t just keep her baby a secret.
“Sweetie, you are six centimeters dilated and 80% effaced. This can be relatively quick or slow. But if you want an epidural, we should do it soon.”
Anastasia shook her head. “No. I want to go without.”
“Sure.” The nurse smiled.
Ne
The next couple of hours passed slowly, Without medication, the pain of each contraction ripped through her. She grunted and cursed to herself, feeling the need to push already. She needed to get the kid out of her already, the kid was already two weeks overdue.
Her doctor strolled in nonchalantly. He was in scrubs and getting sanitized. Finally, he settled between her feet and finally let her push.
She struggled for thirty minutes before she felt something down below. As much as it hurt, the instant relief of pressure
made her sob in relief.
“It’s a boy,” the nurse said, grinning.
“A boy?” she whispered.
She placed the little one on her chest and Ana stared. The boy was wrinkly and bloody with white goo all over him, but he was the absolute perfect little alien she had ever seen.
“I will get Little Reid cleaned up while you deliver the placenta. We need to sew up some things, too, okay? I will bring Little Reid right back.”
“Sew?” she whimpered.
The doctor looked at her and patted the inside of her knee. “Your baby was big and caused a bad tear.”
Ana didn’t know how to respond. “I’ll leave you to it, then. Make sure I am fresh and tight, okay?” she half-joked. Completely in misery.
“Sure thing, Miss Reid,” the doctor replied immediately with a chuckle. The tone was enough to let her know he was trying to reassure her.
Ana settled back and felt more contractions. She didn’t care because she had a son already. A massive nine pounds.
An hour later, she was in the hospital bed and her mother rushed through the door. She had a small bag thrown over her shoulder and a bunch of flowers in her hand.
“I am so sorry, Ana. The flight was late because of a pesky passenger, I paid good money to rush to the hospital, I am so sorry, honey…”
Ana smiled at her mother as her eyes fell on the little bundle of joy in her daughter’s arms. She approached silently and stared down. Ana pushed the blue blanket away from the baby’s face so that her mother could take a better look
“A beautiful baby,” Ana’s mother sighed. “Even though I am upset I just found out, I won’t scold you in front of your son.”
“Saved by the little angel,” Ana joked.
“An angel, indeed. But not so little.” Her mother hesitated. “Are you okay?”
“Just a tear. I will be fine,” Ana assured.
“What’s his name?” she whispered.
“Alan Reid.”
Her mother gasped. Kendra knew her grandson had been named after his grandfather. She tapped on Baby Alan’s finger and the boy clutched onto it immediately. A tear slid down the older woman’s cheek and she gave a watery smile.
“Welcome to the family, little one. We will never let you suffer.”
Anastasia steeled her heart. No matter who Alan’s father was… no matter how powerful or unconcerned he was with her, she would not allow him to hurt her baby boy.
