Chapter 61

An idea came to Castiel's mind, and he voiced it immediately. "Send word to everyone that all companies in Greenburg mustn't hire Niamh. If they do, we'll consider them our enemy."

At the same time, he thought, "This is she plans to cut ties with me, huh? Does she think she can financially support herself? As if! She'd first have to see if she can even land a job!"

Lucian stiffened, wondering if that meant Castiel was determined to get Niamh blacklisted, too. He feared it would only spark more arguments between the couple.

In Castiel's eyes, Niamh had changed into a different person.

Whenever they fought in the past, Niamh would always appease him if he ignored her and let her calm down for a few days. However, she reacted differently this time.

His and Macy's relationship likely caused Niamh to make a bigger fuss with time. She had even crossed all the lines at that point.

Castiel couldn't be bothered to worry about things like Niamh's man from overseas or her wanting a divorce now. He only wanted to get one thing through to Niamh-she wouldn't even have the chance to be independent if she left him. As for her overseas beau, he planned on punishing her for it afterward. The main thing was to get her home.

Castiel's phone was still ringing with a call from Jamison Manor's landline. He ultimately gave in and answered the phone with a snappy tone. "What is it?"

That enraged Renee, who was already furiously waiting on the other end of the line. "What the hell is wrong with you? Aren't you aware how bad of a trainwreck our family is now because of that woman?"

Castiel pinched his eyebrows but didn't respond.

Seeing that he didn't speak, Renee continued to shout, "Hurry up and get Niamh to apologize to Macy! Is she too afraid to own up to her wrongdoings? It's all your fault for spoiling her rotten!" Castiel remained silent.

"Look at what a wretched woman she's become because of you! She's even bold enough to commit such a heinous act! Us Jamisons will never admit to having such a woman as our family member." "If that's all, I'm going to hang up." Castiel didn't want to hear about those things.

Renee assumed Castiel wanted to continue defending Niamh, so her tempér worsened. "Are you still defending her?"

"I'm about to start another meeting!" Castiel barked before hanging up the

phone.

Then, he ran his hand through his neatly combed hair and grabbed them, ruffling them in the process. There was only frustration in his once clear and profound gaze.

Back at Niamh's side, if this were in the past, she would have glumly complied if Castiel and Renee forced her to apologize to Macy. On top of that, she would have drowned in her despair.

However, things were different now; she was overwhelmingly busy! She didn't even give those who wanted to drag her down any time to be happy.

On her and Quinn's way back, Quinn said, "We're going to be really busy these next few days."

"Mm-hmm." Niamh nodded, feeling it was best to be busy. That way, she could distract herself from the tense environment she was in now. The only way she could escape her depressing state was to bury herself in work. That was why she felt lucky to have Simon.

Little did she know she had been blacklisted by Castiel. She soon received a call from a client who no longer wanted her design services. They had just reached an agreement yesterday, yet the client was canceling their business contract today. Niamh questioned, "But you and your team haven't seen my designs. Can you tell me why you wish to terminate the contract?"
