Captive [MXM] -
Over
A week without him and I was certain I was going insane. I'd left messages and voicemails and I was starting to turn into a psychopath. I couldn't help it though. I missed him more than anything.
I missed him more than I'd ever miss Jakob which is why I'd been so nervous and jittery the past day or so. I was going to break up with him. For one, it was obvious that I was using him to fill the gap and for two a little part of me thought that if I did then Warren might want me again. It might sound stupid but I needed him.
My hands were trembling in my pockets as I bit the inside of my cheek. I was walking to his work since it wasn't insanely far away from campus. Right now was not the best time. It was early in the afternoon and he was most definitely busy with work right now. However, I couldn't put it off any longer. I didn't want to carry around the burden anymore.
I had to end things.
He handled it well- so well. I knew I'd hurt him. I could see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice but he was just as calm as ever. Jakob let me go just like that. He didn't ask anything of me but a goodbye hug. It hurt a little bit that he didn't fight for me at all. I expected it but- but Warren used to always fight for me.
I pulled my jacket close and cupped my hands over my mouth as I blew on my cold fingers. He'd even offered to drive me home or call an Uber but I'd declined. The walk would give me time to think. Maybe it would clear my head.
I pursed my lips and shoved my hands deep into my pockets. Maybe I should call Warren. Tell him what I'd done...
"Sir?" A man walked up to me. He seemed to be the only other person crazy enough to be out in this cold, "is your name Paige? I think you dropped your wallet."
I blinked in surprise as he showed me a brown leather wallet. Mine was black.
"Um, yeah that's me but that's not-" he cut me off quickly.
"Perfect," he gave me an eerie smile and tucked it away as he nodded behind me. I began to turn around but a hand clamped over my mouth from behind and something pricked my neck.
My body weakened the harder I thrashed until my vision danced with spots and eventually grew dark. The last thought on my mind was a plea for Warren to save me.
I woke up in a bed that wasn't mine and a room I didn't recognize. For a moment I thought I'd gone somewhere with Warren but then the two men came back to me. Had Warren taken the protection off of me? No one would be as stupid as this if he hadn't. Did he really hate me so much?
I swallowed and slipped out of the bed. Someone had taken my shoes and jacket and bag. I knew the door would probably be locked but I tried it anyways and when- surprise, surprise- it didn't open I went to the window. After a bit of pushing and heaving I got the heavy thing open and looked out.
It was freezing outside and I was two stories above the ground. There was no way I could make that. I pursed my lips and looked down the wall. There were ornate grooves and ridges just under the window that I might be able to crawl across. The next window wasn't too far away. Maybe I could make it.
I sucked in a sharp breath and threw my leg out as I straddled the windowsill. I had just begun to reach out when a voice stopped me.
"I wouldn't try that if I were you. You wouldn't survive the fall," I turned in shock and wobbled at my perch to replace Jakob leaning against the closed door.
"Jakob?" I asked and pulled my leg back inside, "where are we? What am I doing here?"
He walked over and took my hand as he dragged me back inside and shut the window.
"We're at my personal estate. It's isolated from the city," he shrugged and increased my brow as I took a step back.
"What are you...?" I shook my head, "did you kidnap me?"
He sighed and dragged his fingers trough his hair, "well there's no need to be crude, Paige. I couldn't just let you leave like that. He's not good for you. I could do so much better."
He reached out for me and I flinched away.
"You asshole!" I screeched and scrambled across the bed and to the other side, "I would expect this from Warren but you? What the fuck Jakob? Let me go right now."
"I'm afraid I can't do that, love," he sighed and placed a hand on his hip, "I never intended to really fall in love with you, Paige," he went on and circled the bed to me, "but you're such a charming little thing."
I furrowed my brow as he caught my jaw in his palm.
"What are you talking about?" I asked in a small voice. He was scaring me.
"I needed you to get to him before," he waved his hand and my stomach plummeted, "but now I want you all to myself- two birds with one stone, huh?"
I shook my head in disbelief, "you were using me? The whole time?"
"Not the whole time," he shrugged, "but now all you have to do is be a good boy for me and I'll give you anything you want, hm? I just need to make Warren answer for the things he's done and then-"
I slapped him across the face so hard his head whipped to the side.
"Don't you fucking talk to me like I'm a child," I trembled with anger, "I'd never betray Warren, you manipulative bitch."
The corner of his lips twitched as he rolled his jaw and looked back at me. I wasn't used to seeing that expression on Jakob's face. It was empty and chilling.
"I see," he said calmly and clicked his tongue, "when you're ready to behave yourself all you have to do is beg, Paige."
I was not going to beg.
Two hours in an and I was absolutely ready to beg. He'd taken my phone, I had discovered, so there was no calling for help. There was no Warren to save me and when I was hungry I was also very weak-willed. I hadn't eaten breakfast or dinner. I'd been so worried about Warren.
I sat on the floor in front of the locked door with my forehead resting against it. I'd been knocking and calling for Jakob but he hadn't come. Maybe I could convince him to let me go. Maybe I could negotiate or something. If he did really still love me then I had to have some kind of sway over him.
"Jakob," I called out weakly once again and knocking on the heavy wooden door, "please let me out now. I'm ready to behave."
It was at least ten minutes of prolonged begging until I heard the door unlock. I fell back on my ass when he opened the door and stared up at him with wide eyes.
"Ready to be good, Paige?" He asked and arched his brow as he placed his hands on his hips.
I nodded my head softly as he crouched down in front of me.
"I want you to beg for me," he cooed and dragged his knuckles across my cheek.
"Please let me out, Jakob," I whimpered, "I'll be a good boy. I promise I won't misbehave."
"Promise?" He asked and brushed my curls out of the way, "you'll be my good little boy?"
"Uh-huh," I breathed as he took my hand and pulled me up to my feet.
"Then come with me," he hummed and walked me down the hall by the hand. I kept quiet and let my cheeks warm with shame at how easily I caved. Warren would be disappointed in me. My chest ached at the thought of him. I missed him so much. I wanted my Daddy.
"I'm hungry," I mumbled and squeezed his hand.
"Then I'll get you something to eat, babydoll," he replied and led me to the kitchen. I frowned at the nickname. I only wanted to hear that from Warren.
I sucked in a breath when he placed his hands on my hips and lifted me onto the counter. I folded my hands in my lap and watched as he went to the fridge. There was an underlying tension in the air. I knew he wanted something from me and I knew it had to do with Warren. What I didn't know was why.
Jakob took only a few minutes to make me a sandwich and I had hoped he'd allow me to eat there but apparently we had places to go.
"Come here, Paige," he hummed and lifted me from the counter. I let out a little noise of surprise as he cradled me in his arms and walked away with me as I nibbled on my sandwich.
That air about him hadn't gone away. Then was something that still chilled me to the bone. He was somehow different- bad different.
Before I could stop myself I let the words slip out, "Jakob, are- are you going to hurt me?"
I was staring up at him with wide eyes and his steps faltered as he looked down at me.
His lips set in a thin line and he almost looked... upset, "are you afraid of me?"
I swallowed hard, "I don't know anymore."
"I'm not Warren," he frowned and pushed open a door that led to a room that looked like and office. He set me down on my feet and pointed beside the chair behind the desk.
"Sit on your knees," he instructed and I hesitantly did as he said. Jakob took a seat in the chair and I stared at the ground.
"What am I doing here?" I asked tentatively as he pulled open his laptop.
"You're learning discipline," he shrugged and began to type.
"I'm being punished?" I asked softly.
"No, you're being disciplined. There's a difference," Jakob waved his hand.
I frowned, "we aren't together anymore, Jakob. I'm not your submissive."
"I'll win you back, don't worry," he seemed not at all worried.
"You kidnapped me. I am not getting back with you,"I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Then why are you still sitting on the floor? Why aren't you trying to escape?" He pointed out and I bit the inside of me cheek.
"Because I know better than to blindly try and run. If I've learned anything from Warren it's that if you're trying to sneak out you should have a plan and a backup option," I mumbled and looked away. Since Warren always caught me, my backup was always begging and crying.
"Mm, so I guess I should just lock you up forever, huh?" Jakob remarked and glanced at me.
"Please, Jakob," I whispered, "please let me go. I just want to go home."
He cupped my chin and made me look at him, "this is home now, little one."
