CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1005
In an instant, the crowd fell silent. The burly man's eyes narrowed, his drunkenness quickly dissipating as he asked, "You must be Micah?"
Micah did not bother with words. He fired the first shot, barely missing the burly man, which only fueled his anger.
The man shouted, "What are you waiting for? Kill him!"
But Micah and Mr. Joker moved with such elusive speed that the attackers could not track their movements. Growing increasingly desperate, the burly man gritted his teeth, finally spotting Micah and taking aim.
A twisted smile spread across his face. He was about to rid himself of this nuisance once and for all. But just as he pulled the trigger, someone threw themselves in front of Micah.
The bullet tore through her body, splattering blood everywhere.
Freya's body went limp, and Micah quickly caught her, simultaneously shooting the burly man with deadly precision.
Freya looked up at Micah, a faint smile on her lips. She felt content to die in his arms.
Micah, however, gripped her shoulders tightly. "Freya, you're such a fool! I won't allow you to die, do you hear me? If you die, I won't remember your kindness, I won't feel guilty... and I won't mourn you for the rest of my life! Don't even think about it!" Micah despised owing anyone a debt. He had made his feelings clear to Freya, but she had not listened. Now, with her lying in his arms, how would he ever repay this debt to her if she died?
Freya gave him a bitter smile, feeling her strength fade. But nestled in Micah's arms, she felt an overwhelming sense of warmth and peace.
"Mr. Micah, I understand, but... I'm content..."
With those words, Freya lost consciousness in his arms.
"Joker-!" Micah shouted.
Mr. Joker immediately rushed to Micah's side.
Micah barked, "Get Freya to the lab right now!"
"Yes, sir!" Mr. Joker didn't dare delay.
Freya's condition prompted Pharaoh, who had been with Orion, to return to the lab in haste, with Wilfred also called in for help.
Micah had only one demand, "I don't care what it takes, Freya must not die!"
He could not let her die. He did not want to live the rest of his life weighed down by guilt and regret.
Pharaoh exchanged a glance with Wilfred, and they both headed into the lab without responding to Micah.
It was not until Pharaoh emerged from the lab that Micah, tense and impatient, approached him. "How is she?"
Pharaoh had never seen Micah so agitated before. This anxiety exceeded even what he had shown when he had threatened Nina. Pharaoh was puzzled.
Micah, sensing Pharaoh's probing look, snapped, "Don't look at me like that. I just don't want her to die because of me."
"Is that so?" Pharaoh questioned, clearly skeptical. The reason seemed too flimsy.
Micah had climbed to his current position with numerous loyal followers, many of whom had sacrificed for him.
But why was Freya the one to elicit such a strong reaction from him?
It was strange.
"Micah, be honest with me. What's the real reason you've pushed Freya away?"
