CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1026
Nash pursed his lips, just about to say something, when Nina walked over. "Dad, I know about the fiancée. It was arranged by his biological father, and he never accepted it from the beginning." Zion frowned, "Are you sure you're not just covering for him?"
Nina had always stood by Nash, even in the past when she did not ask for any title, not even a wedding.
Nash had revealed in front of everyone that he was not part of the York family, making it clear how much Nina meant to him. He was willing to face public judgment just to protect her. The wedding was grand, and it was undoubtedly unforgettable.
Nina smiled softly, "Dad, after everything we've been through, we have a child, and we've remarried. We're a team now."
Being a team meant helping each other out as a couple. Wasn't that normal?
"Nash, I'm warning you, don't you dare treat her like before, or I won't let you off easy!" Zion's stern gaze locked onto Nash.
Nash tightened his arm around Nina's waist. "Don't worry, Father-in-law, I'll treat her twice as well."
This was Nash's promise. Yet, as he said this, Pharaoh felt a pang in his heart. It was supposed to be a simple, heartwarming moment, but it made him feel uneasy. Because that title, "Father-in-law," should have been his.
Pharaoh knew that without Zion, Nina would not have grown up so smoothly and healthily, and they would not have had the chance to reunite as father and daughter. But despite understanding all of this, he could not control the surge of emotions. His throat tightened painfully, as if he had swallowed shards of glass.
After Nash and Nina left, Pharaoh finally mustered the courage to approach Zion. He handed him a bank card.
"There's a hundred million in here. Thank you for taking care of Nina all these years," Pharaoh said, bowing slightly, his gesture filled with genuine gratitude.
From the first moment he saw Pharaoh, Zion noticed the resemblance between him and Nina. If Nina had invited him to the wedding, it meant she had accepted her biological father. For Pharaoh to offer such a large sum, it showed his wealth, but Zion politely declined. "When I adopted Nina, it wasn't for money. She was standing alone among all those children, with such sad eyes. I brought her home because I truly wanted to raise her as my daughter. I did try to replace her biological parents over the years, but I couldn't. "These years with Nina brought us so much joy. If you want to give her money, give it directly to her."
Though Nina and Nash had weathered many storms together, and Nash was wealthy, nothing compared to having your own resources.
"Please, take it. It's a token of my gratitude. You can use it for investments." Pharaoh insisted.
Other than money, there was not much else he could offer. His influence was in Yaren Tribe, and Zion would not be interested in a position there. In Birkham, money was the only way Pharaoh could compensate him.
But Zion remained firm. "I really don't need the money. We're both doing what's best for Nina. Give it to her, and work on repairing your relationship with her.
"You haven't been there for her before, but with time, she'll come to understand your good intentions. Nina is a kind-hearted girl."
When Zion spoke of Nina, it was with deep satisfaction. Pharaoh could not help but agree. Nina had a good heart. Back then, she had even protected strangers in the slave camp.
