Two men entered the villa with ease, and half an hour later, they emerged, supporting Zoe.

When Nina saw Zoe at the hospital, her eyes were filled with tears. She held Zoe's hand tightly, unable to let go.

Zoe patted her hand and softly reassured her, "I'm fine, really."

"It's our fault for not being careful."

Zoe shook her head, "It's not your fault. It's just my bad luck, having a brother like him."

Turning to Nash, she added, "William has made a mess of the company. You need to fix things quickly before others take advantage. And as for William, don't hesitate and do whatever needs to be done."

Nash nodded. He knew what had to be done, and after everything that had happened, he was clear on how to deal with the situation.

While Zoe was in the hospital, the company underwent a thorough purge. The clean-up happened so quickly. Even though William paid off the woman to change her testimony and got out of the police station as fast as he could, it was already too late. All of his people were let go under legitimate grounds, and as for the clients he had secured, they were no longer worth keeping.

William was picked up by one of the clients he had bribed, a businessman named Fabian. Fabian dealt in counterfeit and low-quality goods, and even without William's bribes, Nash had already been planning to cut ties with him.

Once in the car, Fabian handed William a file. Inside were company details, along with a schedule of Nina's drop-offs and pick-ups of their child. William frowned. "Going after Nash's woman? Are you insane?"

"Mr. York, this is your last shot to make a comeback. Or are you content to let that kid walk all over you? Don't forget, you are the real York." Fabian lowered his voice, "Everything is ready. The men are in place. All we need is your go-ahead, and that woman will be brought right to you." "There won't be any mistakes?"

William hesitated. Controlling York Corporation meant holding all the power in Birkham, and he wasn't about to let this opportunity slip away. Without waiting for Fabian's response, he instructed, "Take her to the old mass grave in the outskirts. I'll be waiting at the top of the hill."

After seeing Orion safely into school, Nina got into her car to leave. Nash had been swamped with work at York Corporation and hadn't slept for days, so she planned to cook him a nice meal to help him relax.

But as soon as she arrived at the market, two thugs ran up and snatched her purse. She chased them into a nearby alleyway, only to replace herself at the edge of an abandoned basketball court. About a dozen men were standing there, each holding a metal pipe. A gang fight?

Nina decided it wasn't worth getting involved and turned to leave, but one of the men blocked her way.

"Since you're here, why don't you stick around and have some fun with us?" he sneered, reaching out to touch her face.

Nina dodged his hand and spat, "Get your filthy hands off me."

The man chuckled, "Feisty, huh? I like that."

He reached out again, but Nina kicked him hard, sending him flying. That was when the whole group charged at her, and the leader shouted, "Take her alive!"

Realizing that the purse snatching had been a setup, Nina braced herself for the fight. She quickly took down four of them, but more kept coming. She was holding her own until two men snuck up from behind and knocked her out with a blow to the head. When she woke up, she was tied to a post near the edge of a cliff. William stood a meter away, a smirk on his face.

"It's you?" Nina said with a cold smile. "Of course it's you. Who else would have the nerve to come after me?"
