"No need," Nash said calmly. "So, Eugene from the Lowe family is back in Birkham."

As the man turned away, Nash recognized him. Eugene Lowe was the carefree and unrestrained son of the Lowe family who had spent his youth wandering the world. He had grown up a lot since then. The Lowe family was known for their strict upbringing. While they didn't demand their children become outstanding, their character had to be impeccable. Nash believed Eugene wouldn't harm Zoe. And even if he did...

A thought crossed Nash's mind, and a sly smile appeared.

If something did happen, he wouldn't hesitate to pressure the Lowe family into marrying Zoe off to him. Forming an alliance with the Lowe family wouldn't be a bad thing after all.

"But Mr. York," his subordinate continued, "the drug they gave Miss Zoe is a powerful sedative. It's one of the strongest out there."

Nash's eyebrow twitched slightly at that. Could something really be happening?

At the hospital, Eugene stood outside the emergency room, talking on his phone. Whatever was being said on the other end made his eyes flash with irritation.

"So, Grandma insists on setting me up for another blind date? But I hate being arranged like that. Come up with something, will you? If you solve this for me, I'll recommend you for the hotel manager position at the new hotel. Plenty of perks, you know." The response only made him more frustrated. He sighed in exasperation. "If I had a way out of this, do you think I'd be asking you for help?"

Just then, the emergency room doors swung open, and the doctor walked out. Eugene immediately hung up and rushed over.

"Doctor, how is she?"

"She was drugged, but we've administered an antidote to suppress the effects. The drug is potent, so she'll need time to recover. If she's feeling fine by tomorrow morning, she can be discharged. If not, she'll need another round of medication." Eugene nodded and, after seeing the doctor off, entered the patient room. Zoe was asleep, her peaceful expression resembling that of a sleeping beauty. Eugene couldn't help but stare at her, mesmerized.

Her beauty wasn't like that of the young, naive girls he usually met. It carried a certain sophistication, a charm.

Yes, charm.

Suddenly struck by an idea, Eugene called home and instructed the butler to bring breakfast to the hospital in the morning. Then, he lay down on the couch and fell into a deep sleep.

As morning broke, a loud ringtone startled both of them awake. Eugene groggily answered his phone.

"What do you want? You woke me up, so now you're responsible for it."

"Mr. Lowe, I've arrived at the hospital. Which department should I bring the breakfast to?"

Hearing the butler's words, Eugene jumped up from the couch and rushed to the door to give the room number.

Zoe recognized him as the man who had saved her the previous night. After he finished the call, she smiled and thanked him.

"Um, thank you for last night. My name is..."

"Hold on," Eugene interrupted. "Someone will be coming in soon. No matter what they ask or what I say, don't speak. Just follow my lead. When I nod, you nod. Got it?"

His mysterious instructions made Zoe hesitant. But after all, he was her savior, so she decided to go along with it. She nodded.

Just as she was about to ask more, the door opened, and an elderly man with white hair and a beard entered, carrying a thermos.

"Mr. Lowe, breakfast is here. And this young lady is...?"

"My girlfriend," Eugene said with a shrug. "I didn't plan on introducing her to you all so soon, but I can't stand eating out, so..."

He made a show of being helpless, while Zoe stood there, stunned.

Girlfriend? Since when was she this man's girlfriend? They had only just met, hadn't they?

No, they hadn't even properly met. He had only rescued her.

Just as she was about to correct the misunderstanding, she saw Eugene shaking his head at her. Remembering her promise, she kept quiet.
