"But I hope this will be the last time," Lydia said firmly. "And please, tell Eugene for me that I don't want to have anything to do with him anymore."

Mrs. Ford seemed like she wanted to say something more, but Lydia had had enough. She was truly afraid of what they were capable of, so she hung up the phone without hesitation. After the call, Lydia paid extra attention over the next couple of days, even asking the receptionist to keep an eye out.

"No, we haven't received any suspicious packages in the past two days," the receptionist said, shaking her head.

"Good. Keep an eye out, and if anything shows up, just throw it away," Lydia instructed, feeling finally at ease as she walked away.

With no more mysterious packages arriving and no further contact from the Ford family, Lydia's mood lightened. She truly believed that the Fords had finally stopped causing trouble. But a few days later, she arrived at the office early, as usual, only to replace employees gathered and whispering among themselves.

"Hey, do you think it's true?"

"That our Vice President Lydia is involved with the CEO of Ford Corporation?"

"I mean, those photos are all over the internet now, and it's heartbreaking for Mr. Quincy..."

"What are you all talking about?" Lydia's voice cut through the room, cold and sharp.

The group of employees jumped in surprise, quickly standing up with guilty expressions.

One of the female employees forced a smile. "Miss Lydia, you're here early today! You usually come in around eight or nine, right?"

Since Lydia was pregnant, Quincy had asked her not to come to work too early so she wouldn't tire herself out. She usually didn't arrive until after 9 AM, but today she had woken up a bit earlier.

With Quincy already at the office and nothing to do at home, she decided to head in early but only to overhear these rumors.

And it seemed like the gossip was about her.

"I asked a question. Answer me directly, no beating around the bush," Lydia said, her eyes sharp with authority.

The female employee's face paled; she hadn't expected Lydia, who was usually so easygoing, to suddenly show this side of herself.

"If you don't start talking, I'll make sure no one gets their performance bonus this month."

"Alright, I'll tell you! Please don't dock our bonuses!" the employee stammered, unable to hold back any longer.

"We saw a post on social media this morning. It's all over the

entertainment news. They're saying that you're close with the CEO of Ford Corporation."

"What do you mean 'close'? There's nothing between us!" Lydia shot back, her anger rising.

"If you don't believe me, just check for yourself." The employee pulled up a trending post on social media and handed her phone to Lydia.

Lydia's brows furrowed in confusion. She thought it was just another rumor, but the moment she saw it, her blood ran cold.

For a second, she froze. Then, with trembling hands, she snatched the phone and clicked on the attached image.

The photo showed her lying on a bed, her clothes rumpled. The angle was deliberately chosen to obscure her full face, revealing only a partial profile, making the image appear even more suggestive.

The comments underneath were flooded with speculation about whether the photo had been taken without her knowledge.

The account that posted it belonged

to a popular influencer, and though he hadn't confirmed or denied anything, he had added a suggestive caption. "There's no such thing as secret that stays hidden forever."

Lydia's fingers trembled as she held the phone, barely able to keep her grip. Blood rushed to her head, and she swayed, suddenly feeling faint.

The employees around her panicked, unsure of what to do as they watched her turn pale.
