"No need," Nina said. "I'll drive myself. If you're busy, go ahead and attend to your matters. I'll come by another day to apologize."

"Don't be so formal," Leonard replied. "This beating wasn't in vain. I believe in your abilities, and I'm sure they'll bring me greater benefits!"

After treating his injuries, Leonard bid farewell to Nina and left early. Once he got into the car, he messaged Scott. "Do you know Nina is pregnant?" Scott was at home, looking disheveled and casually dressed. He glanced at the message, his hand hesitating for a moment. "I didn't know," he replied. Leonard was surprised. "Well, your path just got harder. Nina is carrying someone else's child. Looks like she's fallen for someone else. How do you plan to win her over?" Scott's expression changed several times before he finally responded with resignation. "If she's happy, then I'll offer my blessings... but only if she's genuinely happy." "But she's pregnant now, and judging by her current state, she doesn't want the child's father anymore. Do you want to be a stepfather?" Leonard inquired. Scott replied, "If I get the chance, that would be good."

Leonard could not help but admire Scott. "You're quite something. Among us, you're the last one still holding onto such deep feelings for her after all these years!"

Scott sighed and sank into the sofa. For him, it was a tough ordeal. Every day and night was filled with worry. On one hand, he fretted that Nina liked someone else, and on the other, he worried he was not worthy of her.

All he wanted was simple. It was for Nina to be happy. He did not expect her to love him back. He only hoped she found someone to rely on and enjoyed a happy marriage.

At the moment, it did not seem so. Yet he still held on to hope. Just then, the doorbell rang. Scott put away his phone without replying to Leonard and went to answer the door. "Hey!" The door swung open, revealing an excited girl standing there.

Scott looked at her. "Yasmine, what brings you here?"

Yasmine Smith had well-defined features, large eyes, fair skin, and was quite attractive. She raised the bag in her hand. "You got drunk yesterday, so I made some soup for you. It's good for your stomach." She walked past Scott and entered. "Your parents asked me yesterday why they couldn't reach you. They were worried. I told them you were with me and your phone had died, which put their minds at ease." Yasmine placed the soup on the table and continued, "But next time, I won't cover for you. And you shouldn't drink so much again."

Scott had not approached yet, but Yasmine had already seated herself at the dining table. He did not know what to say.

"Thank you for yesterday," Scott expressed his gratitude.

"No need to thank me. Why be so polite?" Yasmine waved him over. "Come on, the soup should be consumed hot. I cooked it for hours. Hurry up and taste it!"

She was enthusiastic and eager for Scott to try her cooking. She had made some chicken soup, good for the stomach, garnished with some parsley, which looked quite appetizing.

Scott approached the table, but he had no appetite. He politely declined, "Yasmine, I'm not really hungry. You didn't have to go to all this trouble for me."

Yasmine pushed the soup towards him and brought over a chair. "Even if you're not hungry, you have to eat. You can't skip meals. Your parents asked me to take care of you, so I must. Come on, open your mouth wide!"
