CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 517
Miranda was still a part of Nash's company. If she got into trouble, the company would protect her. In recent days, there had been a lot of articles aimed at rehabilitating Miranda's image. Nina looked at her outfit and commented, "Trying to imitate, huh?"
Nina's words hit Miranda's pride, but this time, she was not backing down. She wanted to win, so she smiled and said, "Nina, you're not in the entertainment industry. How would you know what the audience likes? Whoever is prettier gets more attention. Do you really think there's a need for me to imitate?"
She implied that she was more beautiful than Penelope. But Penelope's acting skills far surpassed hers. She was a true talent and did not need to compete based on looks alone.
Penelope stood there with a cold expression. She did not utter a word of rebuttal, seemingly unwilling to argue with Miranda.
Nina decided not to argue with her either. She wanted Miranda to realize that relying on others was futile. "If you want it so badly, you can have it. Penelope doesn't need this location to succeed." Seeing Nina back down without a fight, Miranda laughed. "Good. Nina, I won this time, and I'll keep winning. Stop competing with me."
Nina walked past her, glancing back. "Do you really think you've won?"
Their eyes met, and Miranda's hatred for Nina was palpable. If it weren't for Nina, she wouldn't have lost fans, her public image wouldn't have suffered, and she wouldn't have lost Nash. Miranda felt the world owed her, but she was not in a hurry. She believed that success would require patience.
She whispered in Nina's ear, "Defeating you is easy. Just wait and see. You'll lose everything."
She glanced at Nina's belly, tempted to push her down and cause a miscarriage. But she held back. Her good days were still ahead, and she could not dirty her own hands now. They left, and Angel was puzzled. "Nina, why didn't you argue? They were clearly in the wrong!"
Nina wanted them to understand that underhanded tactics wouldn't last long. "Arguing won't help. It's better to prove ourselves with our abilities."
She looked at Penelope. "Let's shoot here."
Angel glanced at the riverside and the cottonwood trees. "Isn't this too casual? The scenery isn't as good as inside."
Penelope smiled, understanding. "It's not about the location. Look at the natural 'snow' here."
Angel was confused. "What snow?"
Penelope caught some falling white fluff in her hand.
Click! Nina took a photo of Penelope's side-profile.
"Beautiful!" she praised.
Angel caught on. "Using the fluffy, white seeds as snow for the shoot?"
Nina looked through the lens at Penelope. "Let's shoot a short video. You're so beautiful. It will definitely go viral."
Penelope agreed. "How about I recreate a look from my most famous period drama? It's what first made me popular and left a lasting impression on the audience." Many still called her by her character's name from that drama.
"Great idea," Nina agreed.
They completed the shoot by the river, even making a short video. Nowadays, with the internet, anything could be shared, and attention was not limited to traditional media. After the shoot, they edited the video.
Angel was moved to tears, her memories flooding back. She vividly remembered the character Penelope played, a role that left a deep impression. The character ended in depression, never uniting with the male lead.
In several scenes, Penelope's portrayal was cold and desolate. She held a withered bouquet with her eyes filled with sorrow. A single tear rolling down her cheek, capturing the essence of heartbreak. It brough back the intense emotions from that popular period drama.
Once the editing was done, they posted the content online.
