Miranda's gaze at Nina was incredibly fierce, as if declaring war. She was silently saying that she would not let her off easily!

Nina had never seen such a gaze before, and it was clear that even Miranda felt some pressure.

No longer willing to give Miranda any face, Nina said, "Miss Miranda, you've seen him and made your scene. Please leave now. You don't need to worry about when my husband will wake up!"

Miranda was even more reluctant to leave. "Nina, who do you think you are? You're nothing but an abandoned wife!"

"I'm his wife. He risked his life to save me. You have no right to be here!" Nina retorted sharply. "Escort her out!"

"You..." Miranda seethed with anger.

But the man in the camouflage uniform followed Nina's orders. They all knew Nash had been injured saving Nina, and she was rightfully his wife.

"Miss, please leave. Otherwise, we'll have to force you out."

Seeing the group of tall, muscular men armed and ready, Miranda knew she could not win this fight. She glared at Nina. "You'll regret this!"

Unable to fight back, Miranda left grudgingly.

"Nina, you were amazing this time. Did you see her face? She was absolutely livid," Yvonne said, feeling a bit of satisfaction.

For once, Miranda had left in disgrace. In the past, with Sally protecting her, it was never this easy.

But Nina was determined this time.

"This is just the beginning," Nina said, watching Miranda's retreating figure. "I don't believe she's innocent in all this. If she's capable of such things, I won't give her an easy way out." Yvonne, seeing the determination in Nina's eyes, asked, "What are you planning?"

"She loves her stardom, doesn't she? She'll fall from the same place she rose," Nina replied. She was not going to resort to underhanded tactics like Miranda but would use legitimate means to make her pay. "You should get some rest, ma'am. I'll keep watch, and I'll let you know as soon as the captain wakes up," the man in the camouflage uniform suggested, concerned about their exhaustion. "What's your name?" Nina asked.

"James Long," he replied. "Captain York used to be our leader."

Nina continued, "Those people... They didn't harm me, but they aimed for Nash's heart. Though they missed by a few inches, they were out to kill him."

Initially, they wanted to harm her, but Nash ended up getting hurt. Nina wondered if they were targeting him all along.

James hesitated before replying, "Ask Captain York when he wakes up. It's better if he tells you himself."

Accepting his advice, Nina realized she was overwhelmed. Being pregnant, she did not have the energy to stay up any longer. She decided to take his advice and go home.

Yvonne and Nina returned together to Nina's parents' place. Julia opened the door, noticing their late return and worried expressions. "Why are you back so late? You both look exhausted. Did something happen?"

Not wanting to worry Nina's parents, Yvonne said, "We spent the day shopping and got really tired. Since this place is closer, we decided to come here."

"Come in quickly," Julia said, pouring tea for them and chatting briefly with Yvonne.

Meanwhile, Nina hurried to the study, searching for something specific.
