Nina was stunned by his actions. "How did you know I wanted strawberry cake?"

Nash gave a slight smile. "I can do magic."

Nina did not believe it. How could it be so coincidental?

She glanced at the cabinet, then at Nash, and walked over skeptically to open it.

Inside, she found it filled with all sorts of things such as snacks, fruits, cakes, and more, completely packed.

She looked back at Nash.

Nash pursed his lips. "It's all for me."

Nina laughed. "You're putting on quite a show to please me. You must have put a lot of thought into this."

Nash's expression looked a bit unnatural, and his gaze shifted to James, who was standing guard at the door.

James awkwardly looked away, starting to stare at the wall as if contemplating his actions.

Just half an hour ago, Nash and James had been discussing how to surprise and delight Nina.

James had suggested, "Fill the cabinet with snacks and then magically produce her favorite treats. It always works, every girl loves it!" Nash was doubtful. "Really?"

"Absolutely, I've tried it. They all loved it and couldn't get enough of me!" James reassured him with great confidence.

Nash had followed his advice.

And within three seconds, it was exposed.

As Nash looked at James, James felt guilty and turned to face the wall.

Nina was still very happy. Being able to eat what she craved was the happiest thing in the world.

She dug into the cake with a spoon, smiling all the while.

Nash walked over to James and said in a low voice, "Didn't you say it always works?"

James replied, "I didn't know it wouldn't work on her. When I do this for my nieces, they love it!"

Nash's eyes were deadly as he stared at James. "Nieces?"

James came clean. "Captain, to be honest, the only girls I've ever dealt with are my nieces."

Nash's expression darkened. He should not have listened to him. He thought James had a lot of experience with women. In the end, he was not very reliable. Ten minutes later, James was doing push-ups downstairs at the hospital.

He was sweating profusely, gritting his teeth as he counted, "Ninety-nine, one hundred, one hundred and one..."

If he had known, he would not have given any advice.

Nina stood by the window on the seventh floor, noticing James working out late at night. She asked curiously, "Is James working out so late?"

Nash forced a smile. "He likes to exercise at night."

"Oh, oh." Nina praised, "He's quite disciplined. I guess soldiers are all very disciplined."

"Yeah." Nash replied. "Look at the TV, it's the climax of the show."

Nina turned back to watch TV.

The next day, Kate called Nina, asking her to send an important document.

Nina remembered the document was at home, and since Kate urgently needed it, she had to go back.

When she was about to leave, Nash was worried but did not want to delay her work, knowing how much she loved her career.

He asked James to drive her home.

James had overexerted himself the previous day. Despite his regular training, running fifty laps and doing five hundred push-ups was too much even for him.

Feeling on the verge of tears, he complained to Nina, "Ma'am, sometimes you should persuade the captain to go easier on us. He's being too hard on us. Even a buffalo would be exhausted."
