Chapter 558

Nash met her gaze, understanding that she was giving him a heads-up. He chose to take a step back. "Penelope isn't one of our company's artists. If you're really interested, I can replace some people to help you."

Their conversation seemed to be on different wavelengths. Nash probably thought she was just dabbling in this out of curiosity, and that she would eventually lose interest and let it go.

But Nina was determined. Once she set her mind to something, she would not stop until it was done well.

She could not accept Nash's proposal. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Let's keep personal matters separate from business. My relationship with Penelope doesn't need your intervention."

Nash asked, "Do you really need to team up with her?"

"I believe in her potential."

"Are you sure this isn't just about having a problem with Miranda?" Nash pressed further.

Nina hesitated, considering that her multiple kidnappings might have been orchestrated by Miranda.

She was not sure whether to tell Nash. He might side with Miranda. Without concrete evidence, it would be baseless accusations, so she kept quiet.

Even without the kidnappings, Miranda's constant provocations were something she could not overlook. Additionally, helping Penelope was also a way to stand up for herself. If she could revitalize Penelope's career, their collaboration would ultimately be mutually beneficial.

"Let's just say I don't have much of an opinion about her anymore," Nina said.

Nash frowned, worried she might do something reckless. "Don't go stirring up trouble with Miranda, alright?"

Nina did not like hearing that. It seemed like he was more concerned about Miranda.

Nash noticed her displeasure and, sensing he needed to reassure her. He pulled her close, wrapping his arm around her waist. With a teasing yet affectionate tone, he said, "Alright, don't be mad. Anger causes wrinkles, and you wouldn't want that, would you?"

Nina stared into his eyes. "Let me ask you something."

"Go ahead."

"If Miranda and I fell into the water at the same time, who would you save first?" Nina asked.

Nash had not expected that question. Seeing the seriousness in her eyes, he replied, "I'd save you."

Nina's expression softened. Sometimes, even a small reassurance, even if it was just words, could be comforting.' Alright, I'll trust you this time."

Nash pulled her closer, his hand gently resting on her growing belly. "Your belly has grown quite a bit."

Feeling his warmth and noticing he did not seem bothered by it, Nina said, "Yes, time flies. I... actually have something I've been wanting to tell you for a long time."

She hesitated, but seeing Nash gradually accept the baby, she wondered if she should tell him.

Nash touched her face gently. "Go ahead."

Considering his injury and that it was not the best time for him to get too emotional, she said, "I'll tell you after you're discharged."

"Alright."

They spent some tender moments together.

Later, Nina went online to check the article Angel had written. It had already surpassed 500,000 shares.

The article's headline read, "Shocking! Penelope's New Role Stolen by Newcomer with Financial Backing!"

Angel's sensational headline was gaining a lot of attention. Recently, Penelope's short videos had gone viral, and any mention of her name attracted a lot of interest and discussion.

The comments section was exploding with criticism.

Angel did not even need to dig deep. The online community had already unearthed all of the newcomer's background information.
