Chapter 713

The scandal had caused many of her jobs to be put on hold. Despite the challenges, she was determined to make a comeback. If she couldn't work here anymore, she would make an appearance abroad.

Fortunately, since the incident was recent, she had not been blacklisted and could still attend an online gaming event. The attendees were all anime fans. She planned to cosplay as a popular character to capture the attention of her audience.

Miranda was smart and she knew how to create buzz. At every event, she aimed to be in the spotlight. This time was no different.

She was also waiting for good news from Sally. Nina had made her life difficult, and she intended to return the favor. She assumed Sally had already handled it. If Sally could get rid of that nuisance, Miranda could rest easy.

After all she had been through, Miranda had learned a valuable lesson which was never get her own hands dirty. Being caught was a death sentence. She couldn't survive in the entertainment industry if that happened. She needed to use others to do her bidding. Anything that benefited her couldn't be overlooked.

However, after waiting for a while, an informant returned with bad news. Sally had been taken to the police station.

Miranda's face fell. "How is that possible? She's Nash's mother. Even if she did something, she shouldn't end up in jail!"

"The truth is, Nash isn't protecting her anymore. He didn't spare Sally for Nina's sake."

"Useless!" Miranda, feeling her support crumble, panicked. "You're all useless!"

She lashed out, venting her frustration.

"Miss Miranda, you need to be careful," warned the informant. "No one can help you now. You need to look out for yourself." Miranda remained silent, fully aware of her dire situation. All her potential allies were gone. Her once promising life had plunged

into darkness.

The informant, not wanting to draw attention or get caught up in the mess, quickly left after delivering the message.

Miranda's hands shook. She was at a loss for her next move. Glancing at her reflection in the mirror, she remembered she was at work. She still had a chance. She could rely on her beauty and the love of her fans to rebuild her life.

She reassured herself that this time, she would succeed. Capturing the affection of others was her only way to survive in the entertainment industry.

With renewed determination, she called in the makeup artist, masking her turmoil with a smile. "Make me look beautiful, perfectly suited to the character. I need to grab everyone's attention the moment I appear!"

The makeup artist complied, continuing to apply her makeup.

The event began, teeming with influencers, all in cosplay. The venue was crowded, and fans excitedly cheered for their favorite characters, indicating high engagement.

Backstage, Miranda was the only celebrity among the influencers. In the past, she would have looked down on such a setting, considering it beneath her. But now, she was the star of the show.

With a warm smile, she stepped out as the host introduced her. However, despite the host's enthusiasm, the crowd remained silent.

Miranda maintained her composure and greeted the audience.

But the crowd wasn't impressed. Someone questioned loudly, "Why invite Miranda? Her reputation is terrible. Isn't she a criminal?

"Get off the stage!" another shouted.
