"Nina, you must come back safely," Angel pleaded, tears streaming down her face. This set off a chain reaction, and soon everyone else was crying too.

Scarlett stepped forward and patted her chest confidently. "Don't worry, with me around, I'll protect her." It was her duty, a task assigned by Nash and a wish from Wilfred. Penelope, Nelly, and Angel were all drunk, while Yvonne stayed sober. Nina could not drink, and Scarlett needed to stay alert.

"Yvonne, can you make sure they all get home safely? I need to go," Nina said, looking at Yvonne.

They understood each other without needing many words. Yvonne nodded, taking off a small cross necklace from her neck and placing it around Nina's. "Nina, be careful on your way." "Will do," Nina replied.

They parted ways, but Nina did not head straight to the Yaren territory. Instead, she pulled Scarlett aside to teach her some combat skills. Scarlett understood this was Nina's preparation for the Yaren territory. Considering Nina's condition, Scarlett's moves were slow and gentle. Nina was a quick learner with great intuition.

After about three days of training, Nina managed to throw Scarlett onto the mat. Scarlett was a top-notch martial artist, so while she did hold back, Nina had definitely improved enough to protect herself. "Nina, I didn't realize you were this smart and perceptive," Scarlett could not help but admire her. If Nina had not left the organization, with her talent, she would have become the best assassin.

But it was good that Nina had left. The organization's cruelty and the harsh training were memories she never wanted to revisit. Scarlett stopped reminiscing and focused on the present.

The next second, Nina grabbed her hand. "Scarlett, let's book the earliest flight to Yaren territory. You'll need to keep training me when we get there."

The situation in Yaren was chaotic, and Nina knew she had to stay vigilant and not give anyone a chance to harm her.

"There are no direct flights to Yaren from here. We'll need to connect through B Port. Nina, you've trained all day. Get some rest first," Scarlett said, patting Nina's hand.

She knew how eager Nina was to replace Nash. She herself was desperate to replace Wilfred.

Before he left, he had sent her one last message, "Protect Ivy." Since that day, she had not heard from him or seen him.

Nash's poison hadn't been cured yet, and she wondered if Wilfred was with him...

Suddenly, Nina's determined voice broke her thoughts. "If we can't go today, then we'll leave first thing tomorrow."

"Alright."

After Scarlett agreed, Nina started packing. She checked the weather for Yaren. It could reach over 40 degrees there. She needed sunscreen, money, food, and most importantly, medical supplies, given the constant conflict in the region. "Nina, maybe you should stay here and wait for news?" Scarlett suggested, thinking it would be safer for Nina. Plus, Nina had just given birth and might not be able to handle the harsh conditions there.

"No," Nina refused firmly. "I'm going to replace him." Even if it meant dying, she wanted to be with him.

Scarlett sighed deeply and pondered, "What is love, if not a promise of life and death?"

For Nash, Nina, Wilfred, and herself, love meant being willing to face life and death together.
