Nina couldn't bring herself to say what she felt, but Nash understood.

He cupped Nina's face and kissed her deeply, as if trying to merge her into his own body. But at the critical moment, he pulled away.

"Rest here for a few days. I'll arrange everything for your departure."

"Alright," Nina replied, breathless, watching Nash leave the tent.

Nash had further preparations to make. Deploying forces for Nina's sake had convinced the Yaren tribe to surrender, but it had also led to disciplinary action against him. He was now on three days' suspension. Unable to explain everything to Nina himself, Nash sent James to update her on the situation.

Nina understood. However, she hadn't seen Scarlett yet.

"Where's Scarlett?" she asked instinctively.

"She's in another tent, Ms. Nina. Don't worry, she's doing well. Captain has enlisted her as a soldier to help her regain some of her memories through muscle memory training."

"Take me to her."

"Of course," James said, leading the way.

Within minutes, Nina spotted Scarlett, who was working with a hoe in an open field.

"Scarlett," James called out.

Scarlett put down her hoe and quickly approached. Though she had no memories of her past, she felt cared for since arriving here. She also liked the name Scarlett, especially appreciating the kindness James showed her. As she reached them, Scarlett found Nina's face oddly familiar.

"Hello, I'm Nina. It's nice to meet you," Nina introduced herself, extending her hand as if they were meeting for the first time.

Scarlett froze. The name Nina seemed to trigger something deep within her memory, but she couldn't quite grasp it. Still, Nina's warm smile struck a chord.

"Did we know each other before?" Scarlett asked, her breathing heavy.

"Yes," Nina confirmed with a nod.

Scarlett didn't know what to say. She had lost her past memories, and if it weren't for being here now, she would still be in the slave camp.

"Can I hug you?" Scarlett asked hesitantly.

"Of course," Nina replied, opening her arms.

They embraced, and for Scarlett, it felt wonderfully strange. Brief flashes of memories flickered in her mind, but she couldn't hold onto them. Still, she knew that Nina was someone important from her past.

The next three days passed with Nina and Scarlett working together, tilling the fields, planting vegetables, and cooking meals.

When Nash returned, Nina immediately noticed the dark stubble on his chin and the exhaustion etched on his face.

The moment Nash saw her, he pulled her into a tight embrace, almost as if he wanted to merge her into his own body.

"I missed you so much," Nash's voice was rough, his throat tight with emotion.

"I missed you too," Nina replied, wrapping her arms around his waist, holding him just as tightly.

During those three days, she had kept herself busy with Scarlett to avoid thinking about Nash. But now, with him in front of her, she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed.

"There's not much to do around here, but maybe we could take a walk to clear our minds," Nash suggested, holding her face and kissing her gently.
