Chapter 901

Micah thought he could distract Nina and take her away, but his plan was thwarted by Nash's men who discovered him.

He had hoped to use the chaos to take Nina back to the Yaren tribe, but it was now impossible. This failure was entirely due to Wilfred's actions.

Wilfred opened his mouth to speak, but before he could, Micah interrupted, "You better replace a way to bring Nina back to the Yaren tribe!"

Two hours later.

"Something's wrong! Something's wrong!"

The urgent cries spread throughout the camp, alarming everyone. Nina quickly ran out of her tent, seeing many wounded people returning from the outside. She froze, not seeing Nash among them, nor James or Felix. Then, a dust-covered figure caught her eye.

Seeing the desperate look in James's eyes, Nina's heart raced, "James! Where is Nash? Why isn't he here?"

At her words, James's eyes filled with sorrow. He lowered his head, "Miss Nina, Captain, he..."

Nina's legs gave out, and she collapsed backward. Thankfully, Wilfred caught her, preventing her from hitting the ground.

Nina felt utterly drained, overwhelmed by pain and disbelief. "James, you must be lying to me. This can't be true, right?"

James kept his head down, "Miss Nina, Captain was shot while fighting the enemy and fell into the river. We've been searching but haven't found his body. That river is known to have man eating crocodiles and giant pythons."

Already weak, Nina now felt her entire body go numb. She imagined Nash getting shot and falling into the river.

"Ah-!" Unable to control her emotions, Nina screamed and fainted.

When she regained consciousness, she was back in the tent, seeing Wilfred, James, Scarlett, and Scott but not that familiar face. She had previously asked Wilfred to replace a way to cure Nash of the poison. She was willing to do whatever it took to restore Nash's health because she could not bear to see him suffer from the poison. But now, Nash might never even come back.

She could not stay in bed any longer. She threw off the covers and tried to get up, but Wilfred held her down, "Nina, you're anemic. You shouldn't be moving around. Felix is still looking for Nash. As long as they haven't found his body, there's hope."

Nina understood Wilfred's words, but James had mentioned the dangers of the river. If they could not replace Nash's body, it was highly likely he did not survive.

She could not bring herself to think about it.

Nina cried out in anguish, "No, I have to replace him myself. I need to bring him back!"

She refused to believe Nash was dead. No one could stop her, so in the end, Wilfred accompanied her along the river, searching day after day.

After three days without any news, the Allied Forces and Seth, now allies, began attacking the Yaren tribe, seizing a third of their land.

In this situation, Nina could not stay outside any longer!
