Claimed By My Three Alphas -
Chapter 49
"Amery and I are going great. She trusts me and I think that it's only a matter of time before she gives into my demand." Asher announced proudly. His face lit up like a Christmas tree and his eyes danced dreamily as though he was still lost in thought. Levi darted his eyes at him in disgust and contempt. He knew that Asher was only with Amery became he wanted to win the bet against them. He wanted to be declared the ultimate winner for pulling that stunt. It has always been a competition whenever it came down to something that all three of them wanted.
"I know that she still has her doubts about me but with time, everything would be settled and you both would be eating your words then." He pointed at Quincy and Levi who seemed uninterested in whatever they were talking about. He had never wanted to be a part of it in the first place and deep down, he knew that as well.
"Amery is gentle but she is also naive and I can tell that she falling fast for me. She doesn't want to admit it but it's the truth. I can feel our chemistry and connection whenever we're together." He boasted and Levi sneered in anger when his brother's words got to him.
"Well..." Quincy started "I wouldn't say that she trusts me yet but I'm working on it and I can assure both of you that she will be mine in the end. She keeps me close as a friend and I am playing her like a pawn on the chess board. It's only a matter of time. She won't know what hit her." A small smile played on his lips as though he was imagining all the sinful things that he had lined up for her. She wouldn't see any of it coming.
"You both think that messing up our lives with Amery in the middle is just a game?" Levi snapped at them and they are forced to look at him.
"Our lives are in danger. Doesn't that mean anything to either one of you? Is this what you both have been reduced to?" He questioned, eyes darkening in rage as he faced them squarely.
"It's a bet Levi." Asher corrected him. "She belongs to us so what's so wrong if we get to claim her? No one asked you to push her away or kill her so don't make it seem as if it's our fault that she doesn't give a damn about you."
Levi was tempted to tell them that the so called woman they always fought about had ended up in his room last night and that he was so close to marking her as his mate but he snapped his mouth shut.
That piece of information would not do anything to alleviate the matter at hand. It would only aggravate and cause more issues to them and the last thing he wanted was to fight with his brothers even though they tirelessly pushed him to the curb every now and then.
"You think I care about what she thinks of me?" He inquired "I don't f*****g care how she sees me or what she thinks of me."
"Then why are you so upset?" Quincy challenged him fiercely. "It's not my fault that the mating pull keeps on messing with all of us and it's definitely not my fault if she wants to give herself to me. I would take everything she has Levi, as long as she's the one offering it."
"How dare YOU!" Levu growled in rage and lunged forward and grabbed Quincy by the collar. Without giving it a second thought, he pushed he into the nearest three a few feet away from where they stood.
"Don't you ever talk about her that way." He pounced at his brother, hitting him with all his might. His sudden rush of strength shocked everyone including him. He had no idea why he was this upset and all for a girl he wanted absolutely nothing to do with. "Cut it out!" Asher yelled at the top of his voice as he tried to separate them from each other. They pull away after several blows and punches.
"What's the matter with you Levi?" He groaned angrily. Levi had his gaze fixed on Quincy. The veins on his head popping out as he breathed heavily.
"Why would you attack Quincy?" He questioned. "Aren't you the one who always went behind our backs to have Amery killed? Have you forgotten about the time that you almost fed her to your wolves? So why on earth are you suddenly acting as if you care about her? Why the sudden rage?"
"You're right." Levi spat furiously "I don't care about her but I least I'm not like both of you who pretend to do. With me, Amery knows that she isn't safe and she knows what to expect not like you who would do anything to get her even if it meant lying and cheating to do so."
Quincy groans and holds onto his shoulder that had been assaulted by his brother.
"Aren't you ashamed of yourself? Amery trusts you but you go ahead to treat her like some kind of trophy. You don't even like her and neither do you deserve her. The only reason why you're with her is because you see her as a price that you want to win and that's it." He lectured his brothers, hoping to smack some sense into them.
Levi felt disgusted at how Asher treats Amery. He knew that he wasn't the best when it came down to his brothers but at least he wasn't as pretentious as they were.
Asher stood up to Levi "You don't think that I deserve her?" He scoffed, his lips curled in a snide remark. "So who do you think deserves her then? You? Last time I checked, you weren't exactly the kind of person that she would fall for, let alone agree to be with." "You want to bet on that?" Levi asked coldly. His voice, a visible reflection of the anger bottled up inside him. "How about we place another bet? Whoever wins this race should be the one who gets Amery for the night. Are you game?" He asked as he waited for their reply.
He hated the effect that Amery had on his brothers and he hated the fact that their intentions weren't genuine. At least what he felt for her was true even if it was absolute loathing.
Levi felt disgusted and angry at his thoughts but he would rather be the one to get her instead of his brothers who seemed to be getting sucked into the game.
"Deal?" He eyed them anxiously and stretched out his hands for them to shake on it. He would love to see the look on their faces when he gets the upper hand instead.
They shake on it and make a call before sprinting into the thick woods. The morning sun hasn't risen yet and the forest was still as cold as the night before. The morning mist on the flowers and the scent of fresh woods drifted through their nostrils as they tried to outrun the others.
Quincy shifts into his wolf form and tries to attack Levi but before he is able to do that, Levi senses his attack and made a connection to his wolves who dashed out of the forests and raced towards him. They growled at Quincy as if speaking their own language and pounced on him in a bid to protect Levi. Quincy is hurt from the attack and drops out of the race, leaving his brothers to go neck to neck to the top.
Asher uses this to his advantage to outrun Levi. He felt a sense of fulfillment when he caught a glimpse of the mountain up ahead. Without further delay, he imployed all his strength and thrives to the top but before he could get there, he is cornered by Levi's wolves who bared their teeth as they gave him a murderous looks.
Their paws scratched the ground in defense as if daring him to come closer.
Seeing that they won't back down, he shifted to his wolf form to scare them but they swarmed and attack him. They pushed him towards the edge of the cliff but stopped immediately Levi appeared from behind.
Right there in front of Levi's eyes, he watched the wolf's bones crack as though they were rearranging themselves. Its claws retracted and the hairs on its body slowly disappeared to reveal Asher who stood up in his human form.
Levi saw that his brother was wounded and most part of his body were covered in bruises.
"Call them off Levi. Tell them to back down." Asher pleaded as he ran out of breath.
Levi ignored his brother's words and unhurriedly approached the top of the mountain. He lowered the flag which indicated that he had won the race.
Now more than ever, he was convinced that Amery's death, was his to uphold by all means necessary.
