AMERY

.

From the corner of my eyes, i could feel him watching me. I could feel his intense stare that made the hairs at the back of my neck stand at alert. He wasn't even that close to me but it felt as if he was. Every movement I made, his eyes followed. I felt as though I was being watched from different angles which was insane because there were other guys present in the gym as well.

Levi had a way of getting to me without even trying. He always had a way of compelling me and the fact that I am always drawn towards him didn't always help matters.

He was my very least favourite amongst his other brothers but yet, I always felt a sort of attraction towards him. He hasn't even done anything to win my trust like his brother's had but still, the connection between us was always stronger than anything I have ever felt when I am present with Asher or Quincy.

I swallowed and started cleaning the gym. The guys were done with rehearsals so I was tasked with picking up the discarded balls and arranging them nicely in the store room while they carried on with their other exercise.

The earlier I finish with this, the better. Had it been that I could see through the future, I would've endured whatever Quincy threw at me but then I didn't and now my actions had landed me here. It was like going from pan to fire but in this case, it wasn't just fire. It was a burning furnace because Levi was involved.

"Hey buddy, you wanna visit the fields? Coach needs you in time for football practice." I heard the familiar voice of Sean while I continued with whatever I was doing in a bid to block out their conversation from filtering through my ears.

Sean had a way of interrupting at the oddest hours. It was his specialty and somehow, i was getting very bored of it. Why would he always try to but in when no one wanted him to. I'm pretty sure that the only reason he was trying to get close to Levi was because he wanted to be a part of their league. Not that it mattered to me though.

"Nope." Levi responded. His voice came out dry and etchy. Something inside me wanted to offer him water. I could tell that he needed something to drink otherwise he's going to loose it. "We have a big game coming up soon dude. Why won't you come today huh?" Sean pestered, making sure that his message got through to Levi even when i knew that he was distracted. "I'm busy." He replied conversationally "Tell Coach that I would visit the field some other time. Right now, I have something else to do."

"Whatever you say man." Came Sean's reply.

I placed the ball inside the basket and walked past them as I made my way to the storage and that's when one of them whistled loudly. I was beyond embarrassed but I wouldn't let it show. "That's some ass you've got there Amery." One of the boys squeaked in delight and I blinked viciously. I trembled in fear. I wasn't used to people making odd comments about my body.

I made to walk past them but they blocked my path. I looked past their shoulders to see Levi who was busy with whatever he was doing to actually give a damn about me. As if I expected anything from the guy who had spent his entire life wanting to kill me. "I just complimented you but you didn't say anything." One of them reach out for my hair and tucked it behind my ears. I was shaking visibly as I tried my very best to hide my shaky hands. "That's not very nice of you Amery. Usually when a guys gives you a compliment, you smile, sway your hips a little and say thank you." He added and they burst out into a loud uproar of unending laughter.

I didn't replace whatever they said to me funny. They were sexualizing me and I didn't like it. If I were Natasha then I would've found their so cold compliment enchanting but it wasn't and I just couldn't walk away because there's no telling what they might result to. Usually in this kind of situation, you were expected to remain calm and not move an inch until they allow you or tell you to.

"T-Thanks" I stammered. My eyes fixed to the ground as I played with the hem of my shirt nervously.

"Let her be Kevin. You're scaring her." Sean teased as she approached us with a bottle of water in his hands. He bit down on his lower lip and ran the tip of his tongue over his lip piercing just at the corner.

"Wow. I didn't know you have a knight and shining armor. You rock Ames." The one they called Kevin taunted as the rest of them circled me.

"........have to clean up the gym otherwise, I would get into trouble." I mustered up courage as I tried to tell them off in a small voice.

"You don't have to worry about that Amery. We'll protect you and as long as you're here, you won't get in trouble."

I raised my eyes to meet their menacing ones. Those peering gaze only meant trouble and for the life in me, I wasn't prepared for any of this. I took a step back but they only laughed at my measly attempt of an escape.

"Are you trying to run away? What ever happened to the bold and brave Amery who even went as far as fighting for a man?" They teased me.

"I never fought for anybody." I darted my eyes at Levi as if pleading with him to come to my rescue but he looked uninterested. If anything, he looked as if he didn't want to get involved.

"You've changed so much. I think the suspension had something to do with new attitude." Sean tried to touch me but I pulled away.

"Don't come any closer."I threatened but they only laughed.

"And what would you do If I should?" Sean inquired with a scrowl. "Have you forgotten what you did to me the last time I visited your place? I came all the way to apologize and you had the guts to not only slap me but drag me out of your house too."

"I didn't mean to do that. It was an ac-cident." I stuttered. My erratic breathing intensified and I found myself slowly getting too overwhelmed by their presence.

"It didn't look like an accident. You weren't even sorry and you never even tried to apologize." He clicked his tongue and placed his finger on his chin as though he was lost in thoughts.

"I'm sorry." I croaked. My emotions suddenly betraying me.

"You know what? I don't even want an apology, I want a dose of that fiesty Amery who had the entire world at her feet. Maybe after that, I might reconsider your apology." He mused and they all exchanged handshakes.

I tried to make a smooth getaway but one of them placed his foot in front of me and I tripped, crashing to the ground with a loud thud.

I wanted to get up but Sean was crawling towards me while I pushed myself further away from him. "Help! Help me!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as tears steamed down my cheeks.

"You don't have to worry about anyone coming to help you Amery because it's not happening." He reached for my shirt and forcefully yanked off the buttons that covered my cleavage. Just as he was about to go further, someone pulled him away from me. I looked up to see Levi fuming in anger as he glared at him.

"Break up. Party's over." He warned them but Sean wouldn't have any of it. I rose up to my feet, my hands holding onto my clothes as though my life depended on it.

“Come on dude. I can let you have a taste if you-" The rest of Sean's words caught up in the air when he suffered a major punch from Levi that had him flying in the air and landing on his butt.

I flinched at the impact of what had Just happened in front of me. They all attacked Levi but he man handled them. Throwing them up in the air as they all crashed Into different directions.

From where I stood, I could see his claws thawing out from his fingers. His wolf was close to the surface and if I didn't stop him now then he would go berserk and there's no telling what might happen after. He made for Sean who laid down helplessly on the ground. If he goes any further then he might kill him.

"Levi please. Don't do it or you'll hurt him." I snapped in a small voice and he stopped in his tracks immediately. He turned to look at me and our eyes met. His grey eyes were quickly replaced by the usual black ones and his claws retracted as quickly as they came. He looked at me in a confused and conflicted manner as though I had done something to him but before he would utter a word, I ran out of the gym as fast as my legs could carry me.
