Claimed By My Three Alphas -
Chapter 95
AMERY
.
With tears in my eyes, I arrived at the bus station and took a seat on one of the benches quietly as my mind replayed the little argumentation that I had with dad minutes ago. I can't believe that he had tried to act all innocent after making me look like a fool In the
presence of everyone yesterday.
I expected him to apologize and show a little bit of remorse for his actions but instead, he tried to wave it off as though it didn't mean anything. Why would he even do that? Why couldn't he just admit that he did wrong and try to fix it? Where was it written that grown ups were past the age of tendering apologies and trying to mend a broken relationship?
Ever since I returned back home to them, he had treated me strangely. At first I never said anything about it because I thought that he was still in shock about what had happened to me and so I decided to give him enough time and space to come around but he only used that as an opportunity to push me farther away from him.
"No!" I examined, wiping off my tears aggressively. I won't allow him treat me in such manner. If he felt that his ego would be bruised if he took the right steps to apologize and ask for my forgiveness then, I would pretend as if he didn't exist to me. After all, he had denied me first.
The bus arrived and I got in and located a free seat at the back to sit down. I plugged in my buds and threw my face outside the window. Closing my eyes, I let the cool breeze caress my face, letting my worries become one with the wind as I listened to the music which served as a stress reliever to numb me of my emotional pain.
I arrived at school earlier than expected and slowly walked into the school premises. I could feel the weight of everyone's eyes on me as I walked by. It seemed like everyone hasn't fully digested what happened yesterday and their peering gaze and thick atmosphere was enough proof that it still lingered around school. The rumors had spread like wildfire, and I was the topic of conversation for the entire school now.
Not like I didn't expect it though. This wouldn't be the very first time that I would be swimming in everyone's attention and for stupid reasons too. I had honestly expected it so it really didn't freak me out that much. The intense glare was enough to make me wet myself but I refuse to be intimidated.
I had faced situations far more worse than this so I would definitely learn to suck it up and thrive. As I made my way to my locker, I could hear whispers and see people pointing in my direction. I couldn't help but feel like everyone was judging me, even though I knew I hadn't done anything wrong.
The rumors had started yesterday morning when I was called into the principal's office. As soon as I left the office, the rumors spread like wildfire. People were saying that I had sold the drugs and that Quincy had taken the fall for me. I tried to ignore it, but it was hard. I felt like everyone was against me even when I had constantly tried to prove that I was innocent.
I arrived at my locker and took out my books. Just as I was about to close it, I heard a notification beep on my cellphone. I pulled it out to see that someone anonymous had sent me a private message and a video. I played it with shaky hands and Quincy came to view. It was a video of me hugging him outside the school's premises before he had left for his house.
The caption read; "Hero takes the fall for a former suspended student caught with drugs In her locker."
I couldn't help but feel a tug at my chest. It's not that the video hurts but that what they wrote was right. Quincy had taken the fall for me even when he was innocent just like I was. This video had Natasha's name written all over it.
I followed the link to the supposed video and slowly scrolled through the comments. Everyone was saying bad about me. Some called me a slut while others called me a cocksucker and the list was endless.
We haven't even gone a full day and a new rumor had already started. This time, people were saying that I was a "cocksucker." I couldn't believe it. I suddenly became alarmed, confused and scared. Did someone manage to replace out what had happened between Levi and I yesterday? Was that the reason for the new name and the rumour.
I had been lost and inside my head since yesterday afternoon that I had allowed Levi to willingly take me home so I wouldn't be in a right frame of mind to know if I had been followed or not. What if someone had caught us.
I shut my locker. There's no way and besides, if someone had indeed caught us then they would've uploaded an evidence to back up the claims. This was just mere talk and nothing else so I don't need to be afraid of anything.
As I walked down the hallway to class, I spotted Natasha and her clique of Brit Barbies standing at the front of their lockers. Natasha had always had it out for me and I know that this issue was an avenue for her to make my life a living hell. She had been spreading rumors about me since yesterday and it seemed like she wasn't going to stop anytime soon.
Besides, when I confronted her about it yesterday, she didn't even try to deny it. She told me that she was out to get revenge and make me pay so I wasn't surprised. She's the mastermind behind the allegations against me and I cannot believe that we were once friends. I regretted the fact that we were once buddies. I made to walk past her but her minions blocked my path so that I couldn't walk through.
"Now, would you look at what the cat just dragged in." Natasha said, smirking. "The school's new drug dealer and resident w***e, Amery Hunter." I looked round the almost empty hallway only to realize that it was suddenly getting crowded. "A round of applause everybody. Let's give it up for Amery. She not only degraded her school by selling drugs but she made someone take the fall for her." She clapped her hands while everyone burst into a fit of laughter. Their voices echoing throughout the entire hallway.
I adjusted the strap of my bag and remained quiet. There was no point In arguing or saying anything about the matter because no matter what I did, no one would believe me or try to take my side.
"What's wrong?" She jabbed her fingers at my collarbone. "Cat got your tongue?" She taunted. "Where the hell is that Amery who constantly told everyone off because she believed that she was always right?"
"I don't want to fight with you Natasha, so please, leave me alone" I tried to ignore her, but she just kept going. Honestly, I've had enough for one day and her actions were only draining the remaining energy i had left.
"Did you hear the new rumor, Amery?" she asked. "Apparently, you're quite the little cocksucker now. Why don't you address everyone instead of running away?"
I could feel the tears starting to well up in my eyes, but I didn't want to give her the satisfaction of seeing me cry.
"Are you crying?" She gagged in disbelief. "Don't tell me you're about to slip into depression and get lost again for the second time Amery. You're always full of surprises that I'm not so surprised anymore."
"You're disgusting," I said, my voice shaking. "Just leave me alone."
She pushed herself closer to me and leaned forward. "You don't have to worry Amery. I'll make sure that I put you out of your misery soon. It's only a matter of time before you're out of this school permanently and I'd make sure that there's no one left to save you when I'm done." I was too stunned to speak but I didn't say anything. No matter what I tried to say, she wouldn't listen anyways so I gave up.
As expected, she just laughed and walked away, her clique following close behind. I felt so alone and helpless. I didn't know how much more of this I could take.
I pick myself up and went to class. I took my seat and waited for the teacher to arrive. Levi walked in at that moment and we locked eyes with each other. I quickly averted my gaze so that I wouldn't be caught staring. The last thing I expected was to have any sort of connection with him after last night.
The day went in a hurry and before I knew it, it was time for lunch at the cafeteria. I tried my best to avoid Levi so I don't run or bump into him by chance but all my efforts were futile because I met him seated at the cafeteria when I went to order my food. I couldn't run away so I decided to act natural and playing school until lunch was over. I ordered my food and took an empty seat at the far end of the room while I munch on it silently despite the rumors running around.
Natasha and her friends tried to come at me for the second time and just as they were about to go at it, someone slammed his fists on the table. I looked up to see Levi staring at me with dark eyes.
"Listen up, everyone," He said, his voice strong and confident. "I don't know what's going on with all these rumors flying about Amery, but I want to make one thing clear. If anyone messes with her, they'll have to answer to me. Understood!"
Everyone in the cafeteria was stunned, me inclusive. Natasha and her minions backed down fearfully. Levi was termed the devil of the school so it's only a given that everyone was terrified of him. No one had ever stood up for me like that before. I looked over at Levi, and our eyes met. He gave me a wicked smile, and I looked on confused because I didn't know what it meant. Was it about the s*x or something else?
I didn't know why Levi had stood up for me, and although I was grateful for it but I didn't know if perhaps, there was an ulterior motive behind it.
