Claimed by the Alpha Luna’s Awakening by Misha k Chapter 47
Chapter 47
Carmine clenched her teeth and tossed the wooden heart on her bed. Emotions swirled on the inside and she kept staring at it until she was able to blink away her tears. Alpha Theo’s behavior towards her after she confessed didn’t sit well with her.
Determined that she won’t allow anyone to tra mple her heart and play with it, she sucked in a sharp breath and then went to stand in front of the mirror. Picking up the comb, she brushed her hair with a vengeance until her scalp burned.
A soft knock on the door startled her. “Just a minute!” she said and quickly wore a yellow sundress. When she opened the door, she saw Alpha Theo standing. His black high-n*eck shirt and trousers made him look as handsome as a Greek go d, causing her to catch her breath. She couldn’t help noticing dark circles beneath his eyes. How could a wolf be so cruel and desirable at the same time?
His eyes drifted to the wooden heart that he had carved for her last night. It was impossible for him to sleep and so all he could do was to show her how sorry he was for his action. This was the only idea that came across his mind. Theo had never been the romantic kind. He was rough around the edges. For him, power and money were everything. His effort to make up with his mate was as crude as he was.
After she hadn’t opened the door all night, he went to the lumberyard, picked up an axe, and angrily swung it at the frozen logs, creating a shower of splinters in the cold. air. Theo’s n*ked chest glistened with sweat even as exhaustion set in. The rhythmic thud of the axe was the only echo in the manor and surrounding forest, with an occasional hoot of owls in the distance until the first rays of morning sun.
He returned with a piece of log and crafted the half heart for her.
“Carmine!” he breathed, seeing her. “Would you like to have breakfast?”
She pursed her l*ps and looked away. “I am going to the boutique,” she said. “Joseph must be waiting for me.”
Jealousy burned a hole in his chest. “But Joseph is here,” he almost stifled a growl.
“No, both he and I are going back to my home. We have to set it up back over there.”
A shiver ran down his spine. What if Kade attacked her again? “You can’t go there!” he said. When she frowned, he added, “My warriors said that Alpha Kade’s spies are still there.” It was a lie. After he killed Ed, no one dared to come near her cottage. He had sent five warriors who were constantly keeping a watch on it. Not only that, he had sent a message to Alpha Kade about Ed saying that he was going to attack him soon. Kade. hadn’t replied. “Don’t you know Ed was his spy?”
Her
eyes widened in shock when she remembered yesterday’s incident. “Oh!”

Encouraged by her reaction and without an iota of guilt, he continued, “I will ask my people to shift it back here.”
“What do you mean?” Her voice raised. “What do you mean by that? What do you think I am? Is this all a joke to you? At your behest, I keep shuffling between my house and yours. I have put years into building that business. I’ve put years of hard work and experience into this, and I’m doing my best to establish myself in an unfamiliar environment. But what do you do? You storm into my life like a hurricane every think I am settled and unsettle me. I am not your toy, you understand?”

Alpha Theo was taken aback. He jerked his head back, seeing how she blasted him. It was… cute. He didn’t know that he would love someone even when they got so angry. Very few had the privilege of getting angry at him, unless they were willing to face severe consequences. Carmine was the only one who could get furious at him and still make him love her even more. Though she scolded him, it was a sign that she cared about his feelings. He watched her beautiful facial expressions as he stood at the door, and a smile appeared on his l*ps.
“You are smiling?” she snapped. “Oh, my goddess!” She turned back sharply and strode to pick up
her purse. “I am going to have coffee with Joseph and then I will go-”
He interrupted her, saying, “Unless you want Alpha Kade to take you, please don’t go to your cottage.”
She huffed and folded her arms across her chest. In doing so, her breasts perked up beneath the sundress. Her cleavage showed and since she wasn’t wearing a bra, he could. clearly see her puckered n*pples. Theo’s gaze fixed on her breasts and all blood rushed. to the middle of his thighs. His c ock shot north and his chest rumbled.
She circled I past him and hurried down the stairs to meet Joseph. “Don’t bother coming after me, Alpha Theo,” she called when she heard him hurrying after her. “I am in your house only for this week. After that I will go to my initiation ceremony!”
Theo stopped in his tracks. He narrowed his eyes at her as fresh jealousy stabbed his heart. As if he would allow her to leave his pack’s territory? He watched her rushing towards the guest rooms where he knew Joseph was. As he scratched his stubble, he knew he had to send Joseph away. But for that, he had to do something that Joseph couldn’t refuse.
When he was at the dining table for breakfast, he ordered Flint, “Send her breakfast in Joseph’s room.”
“She’s really upset.” His Beta’s voice came from the door. Winn sat at the table on his right.
“She’s slightly upset,” Theo responded, biting a large chunk of meat from roasted chicken. “I can take care.” He had no idea of how to do that, but he would. “Besides, how

can you say that?”
Winn shook his head. “I just saw her storming out of here in anger.”
Theo took a deep breath in to calm his raging emotions. He chewed his meat calmly. “Has Kade responded?”
“Nope!” Winn picked up a glass of fresh orange juice.
“Let me know as soon as he responds.”
“Okay.”
“I need you to locate a spa cious area in the market square, preferably with two floors.”
Winn raised his eyebrows. “For what?”
“Carmine’s boutique.”
“But why two floors?”
“Because on the first floor, I will have my warriors stationed in disguise.”
Winn stared at his Alpha for a long thirty seconds, and then he burst out laughing. “She will come to know about it.”
Theo let out a ragged breath. “She will, but her safety is important. So you will ask the warriors to disguise themselves as cloth merchants. Their job is to acquire all her wants while keeping her safe. Is that clear?”
Winn grinned. “And the mightiest Alpha in North America falls for his love. Ah! My heart.” He leaned forward with a pout. “What about my k*ss, Alpha?”
“F uck off!” Theo pushed him away, pawing his face with his large hand.
Winn almost rolled off the chair, laughing like a hyena.
Alpha Kade fixed the tire of his jeep and sped to Carmine’s house. However, on nearing the house, he smelled blood and flesh. His heart stuttered. He eased off the gas pedal, yet continued driving by the house without pausing. It looked like someone had ripped apart the place. There was blood spattered on the floor of the porch and the door. The smell of the blood clearly belonged to Ed.
Kade’s blood drained. “F uck!” It was not difficult to comprehend what must have happened because Ed’s smell was mingled with Carmine’s, human’s, Thor’s and Alpha Theo’s.
Chapter 47
Kade drove away in his jeep, his frustration growing with each passing second. He wanted to kill Ed all over again because he had lost a golden opportunity of getting Carmine back.
When he reached his pack, his Beta showed him the message Theo had sent. Adding to his existing miseries, this message made things worse.
