CONTRACTLY, IT'S YOU -
3 - DRUNKEN STATE
I opened the door and walked into the sitting room. "I waited for you," Kai's voice frightened me. I staggered, losing my balance as I walked closer to him.
He closed the book and got up immediately to catch me. I fell into his arms, holding me safely, solidly, and extensively. I heard him sigh.
"I waited for you. Where the heck have you been?"
I struggled to pull out of his arms. He looked so good in white. I lowered my head and raised them, looking at him. "Have I ever told you? You look so good in white?" I traced my index finger down his chest, lower until he caught my hands, and a sharp breath escaped my lips.
"You're drunk. You don't want to make a foolish mistake,"
I laughed. "Guess who I meet today!" I clapped tiny, smiling at him.
His deep blue eyes turned warm, shimmering with curiosity.
"Your ex-wife!" I screamed, dropping to the floor. I bit my lower lip until it began to ache. "Amelia Foster,"
His face screamed so much. He looked surprised himself. However, Kai wasn't a man of so many words.
"She came to the wives club and threatened to take you away from me," I struggled to stand upright, but I failed to fall into his arms. "You're mine," I muttered.
My eyes became blurry slowly, and with time, it went black.
The following morning. I opened my eyes. Gosh, everywhere was bright. The last thing I remembered was going to a bar to drink out of anger.
I sat up, and I felt a sharp pain in my head. I cried in pain, holding them-one reason why I hate drinking. I got out of bed, and my stomach lurched. I covered my mouth, storming into the bathroom. I emptied my whole system into the bathroom, and I was done. I washed my mouth and face. Put on a spaghetti strap white dress and end to the living room.
"Fay! Mrs Jacobs!" I ached even more. My eyes held the floor. As I walked to the kitchen, the lights affected my eyes. I bumped into a strong figure, stared at the man's shoe, followed it, and found Kai staring at me.
"Goodness, you scared me!" I swallowed. He glanced around.
"Do you have a reason to be scared?" He questioned, taking steps closer to me, causing me to move backwards.
"Huh?" I gulped.
"Why are you scared? Except you did something wrong, love." I blinked, speechless. I bit my lower lips, and his hands reached for mine, grasping me and pulling me closer to him. His eyes danced across my face. "I've told you numerous times to stop biting your lips. You're hurting yourself," his voice came out soft and caring.
I immediately let go of my lips. I wasn't lying when I said Kai would freak out when I hurt myself because that's how he had always reacted.
"We have a family dinner tonight. Did you forget?" His hands wrapped around my waist. My eyes gaped wide.
"What are you doing? We are not even in the public," I muttered.
"Practising for tonight, practice they say, makes perfect," he smiled. That deceitful smile again.
"You don't have to-" I choked when his hands cupped my neck, attempting to kiss me. I pushed myself out of his arms. "You're still nervous when I touch you?" I glared at him, not responding. "Put on something nice I cooked for you," he said. "What?"
"You heard me, freshen up," Kai walked away.
I smiled. I loved it when Kai cooked. Some billionaire books didn't lie. Kai was almost perfect. He also knew how to cook.
Once I was done freshening up, I headed to the dining. It was Kai's favourite, garlic steak. Although it was his favourite, it slowly became mine because I had never tasted anything like that. The seasoning was perfect, and the meat was perfectly cooked. My mouth watered as I walked closer. I remember the taste vividly.
I pulled the chair. "Thank you for the food!" I winked at Kai.
"Gosh, every time I taste this, it melts! Oh, I wish I could cook this," I said, chewing.
"You attend a cooking class, love."
"I know, you have a secret recipe, Madam Gracia's doesn't taste this way,"
"What are you willing to do for it?" Kai asked.
"Is there something you want?"
"Yes," he replied.
I stared at him curiously while chewing gently. Kai looked at me and chuckled.
"Stop avoiding my touch. It would be lovely if you touched me whenever, too. It helps us get closer."
It made sense, but I couldn't tell him. He was the first man to touch me that way. Even as a stripper, men don't dare touch me if I didn't consent to it. He was my first kiss, too. "Okay," I continued with my food.
"What do you want us to do tomorrow? We can go to the park and chill,"

"The beach would be lovely," I suggested.
He wiped his mouth. "Not the beach,"
I looked at him. Every time I suggested the beach, he didn't like the idea. I haven't been to the beach in ages.
"About Amelia," My eyes lit. Was he going to tell me about her now? "I looked into it, I didn't know she was back from London,"
"What are you talking about?" I stared at Kai. How did he know about it?
He chuckled. "You need to stop drinking outside. You could do something, and you wouldn't even remember,"
I closed my eyes briefly.
"You cried about how she was going to ruin the contract. You said she threatened you. You also claimed me," he said teasingly. "I guess I've become your favourite asset," his deep blue eyes stared at me warmly. "Why didn't you tell me you were married once?"
"I didn't think it was necessary. My apologies."
"I'm curious," I said, watching him take a sip from his red wine, and his eyes focused on me. "What do you think about having children?" Kai choked, spitting out the wine, coughing and banging his chest. "Geez, I'm sorry!" I ran toward him. The dining was six sittings. We usually ate three chairs away.
I grabbed a napkin. I wasn't sure of what to do. My hands shook as I handed the napkin to him. Kai caught my wrist and pulled me closer to him. His breath shook. I could tell he was trying so much not to cough at my face. "Do you want me, Love? I don't mind undressing you right now," He got up, grabbed my waist with both his hands, and pulled me closer to him. "How about right now? Seems easy to undress you, isn't it?"
