Crushed Affections (Dominic and Bella) -
Chapter 149
Chapter 149 What Do You Hope For
Since Dominic had already made up his mind, there was no need to tell Bella. It wasn't like she could ask him not to go. Amber was right-Bella wasn't suited for him, and nothing could come of their relationship. Even if it was just a fleeting dream, Bella felt it was enough.
After a moment, Dominic turned to leave. Suddenly, Bella panicked and asked, "Will you come back?"
Dominic paned but didn't look back. "What do you hope for?"
Bell bit her lip. "I wish you a safe journey and hope you come home soon.
Dominic tumed his head slightly to look at her, a smile tugging at the comers of his lips. "Got it."
Bellatroze. She felt as though his smile was a brilliant star, lighting up the darkness deep in her heart and chasing away all the negativity that had built up over the past 20 years.
After closing the door, her heart raced wildly. She no longer cared why he told Frederick that she was his sister. At this moment, all she knew was that she clearly still liked him. It didn't matter if he didn't publicly aclmowledge their relationship anymore.
The next day, Lia tetumed from her trip abroad and invited Bella out for lunch. Summer in Joville was anything but gentle. The whole city felt like it was in an oven Luckily, the restaurant they went to had strong air conditioning. It provided a comfortable environment that eased the discomfort caused by the heat.
As soon as they met, Lia couldn't wait to show Bella a photo of her new boyfriend.
"Look! Isn't he handsome? And he's a pilot! The best part is that he's not interested in having kids, so we won't have to worry about that. His name is Marcus Taylor, and I think it sounds nice."
Bella studied the photo seriously. "Yeah, he's definitely good-looking and stylish. And it he doesn't want Idds, that's good for you."
Lia smiled. "I knew you'd approve! My taste is never wrong."
Bella smiled but didn't reply. She couldn't judge a stranger he hadn't met too deeply. As long as he was good for Lia, that was all that mattered.
Lia noticed Bella's lack of enthusiasm and pouted "Did you and Dominic tight again? You always look like this when you're upset. It's so boring!"
Bellashook her head. "No, it really isn't that this time. I hope you and your boyfriend the the knot quickly. Remember, I want to be your bridesmaid!" Lia beamed. "Thanks for the good wishes! You'll definitely be my bridesmaid. Don't worry about that!
Throughout lunch, Lia kept talking to Marcus and barely took a bite of her food. Bella felt dizzy from the sweet smell of romance in the air.
"Can you focus on eating? Is he really that free? If he is, why not invite him to join us?
Lia covered her mouth and giggled "He just got home from a flight and needs to rest, so I'd feel bad calling him out. Why don't we have dinner together tonight? You two can meet each other then. You can't wear makeup, though. I can't have you stealing my spotlight. That's because you're way prettier than me!"
Bella rolled her eyes in exasperation. Women in love had such strange logic.
After lunch, Bella and Lia strolled around and enjoyed the afternoon. When It was almost time for dinner, they headed to the restaurant they had reserved. When they arrived, Marcus hadn't shown up yet. They waited until it was after 7:00 pm before he finally arrived. When Bella saw Marcus in person, she understood why Lia had fallen for him. He was even more handsome than in the photos and had a great presence. He looked good in every way-from his appearance to his financial status. He even drove an expensive car. But as soon as he sat down, he said, "Lis, let's end this here. This will be our last meal together."
Both Lia and Bella were stunned. Bella couldn't help but think of Oscar.
Why did Lia's boyfriends always break up with her so suddenly?
