Upon arriving at the second floor room, there was already a group ofpeople present. Scarlet Harris lay on the bed, her features strikinglybeautiful but her face had turned pale and looked somewhatfrightening. She appeared to be in a vegetative state with her eyesclosed.

A doctor wearing a blue coat was observing her condition at thebedside while another middle-aged man stood next to him with animposing presence. His face, which usually exuded authority withoutanger, was now filled with anticipation and concern.

This middle-aged man was none other than Zak Harris, thecommanding officer of Edoland Garrison Command!

In addition to them, there was also a young man sitting on the otherside of the bed. The youth's gaze was filled with tenderness and sorrowas he looked at Zak's daughter lying on the bed.

The young man’s name was Conor Cox - he was Scarlet's universityclassmate who worked together with her in biological technologyresearch institute within Edoland Science Academy. At the same time,he was also pursuing Scarlet romantically and their relationship hadbecome somewhat ambiguous.

"Enough!" Zak raised a hand and stopped them impatiently beforeturning to the doctor and asking, "Dr. Bailey, how is my daughterdoing? Can you wake her up?"

This doctor was none other than Clifford Bailey who worked with Erik!He was rumored to be a descendant of a famous physician fromancient time. Whether true or false no one knew for sure but Clifford'smedical skills were truly remarkable!

Although he had been invited by the Ward family to Edoland, he wasn'texclusively Erik's personal physician.

Zak heard that he was in Edoland, so he invited him over to see hisdaughter who had suddenly fallen into a coma three days ago. No oneknew what strange illness she had contracted despite various tests andhospital visits. Zak could only hope for the vast knowledge oftraditional medicine.

Mason was also thrilled upon hearing that Scarlet could be cured butfelt guilty for bringing Lachlan along unnecessarily.

Conor was even more relieved and excited than anyone else as he heldonto Scarlet's hand with tears of joy streaming down his face saying,"Scarlet, this is wonderful news! You can finally wake up!"

Lachlan looked at Conor with a deep meaning hidden in his eyes as hewatched on silently from afar.

Although Conor appeared extremely happy, Lachlan still caught theflash of mockery on his face.

Who was the mockery aimed at?

At that moment, Clifford pulled out a pair of silver needles and begansterilizing them to begin acupuncture!

However, just then, Lachlan stepped forward and sternly advised, "Dr.Bailey, you must not do this! If you stick these few needles in her, MissHarris will not only fail to wake up but also be in danger!"

Mason's face immediately turned red and he couldn't help but turnaround and glare fiercely at Lachlan.

He cursed inwardly at this unreliable bastard who had caused him to beridiculed in front of Zak.

"Young man, are you also a doctor? Then you should understand thatthere is no shortcut for doctors. It all requires years of experience. Ifyour skills are not enough, then you should speak carefully and studyhard! Instead of talking nonsense and even harming people! Do youunderstand?” Clifford said sternly and coldly to Lachlan with areprimanding tone.
