Falling For My Playboy Boss -
Chapter 76
Cora's
POV
I see the guys look over as soon as I exit the door, followed by Thomas, and every one of them starts to grin at me, which makes me grin back at them as I approach them and say, "Hi guys". Adam steps forward towards me and says, "Guys, I would like you to meet Cora". All five of the men with him all say "hi" back to me and then I see that they each have the copy of Vogue that I am in, which makes me smile bigger. Adam starts to introduce them from left to right, starting with the man right next to me on my left. "Cora, these are my friends: Joseph Miller, Noah Jones, Jacob Williams, Michael Brown and Ethan Smith". Joseph was 6 feet tall, with brown hair and chocolate-colored eyes. He has several tattoos down both arms. He looks like he is 29 or 30, with an attractive face. Noah had blonde hair and brown eyes and was around 6'1" and huge biceps with a sleeve of tattoos on his left arm. Jacob was 5'11" tall with blonde hair and blue eyes. He looked like he was my age and had a baby face and was in great shape. Michael had dark hair and piercing blue eyes, he was 6'3" tall and it was clear he was in peak physical condition. He had a very handsome face and a strong jaw. He was smiling a huge smile at me, and it caused me to give him one back. He was wearing a button-up shirt and had the arms folded up on it, and the top two buttons were undone with a little bit of a tattoo peeking out on his chest. The man standing next to Adam was a black male with an easy smile and a handsome face. He has light brown, almost honey-colored eyes and a short fade, with large biceps straining against his shirt. I smiled, nodded, and greeted each one of the men.
"I didn't realize you were pregnant, Shea, I mean Cora. Sorry, we are just used to calling you Shea, it is a habit", Joseph said to me.
"It is OK, I understand, I appreciate you guys being fans. Adam told me on a flight I took last month that you guys had my pictures up and I wanted you to be able to come to the show as my guests. I appreciate all my fans" I said to him.
"We saw your press conference and you looked great. Mateo is a great designer. That was just a month ago and none of us knew that you were pregnant. I also wanted to tell you that you are more beautiful in person than on the runway", Noah told me, making me blush.
"Thank you so much, Noah," I told him, making him grin.
"We brought our copies of Vogue on the off chance that you would sign them for us, please?" Jacob asked me.
"I would be glad to sign them all for you. I will do you one better even". I texted Ava and Mateo to come out front with me as well.
Ava and Mateo came out and they signed the magazines with me for the firefighters. The firefighters all commented on how good a job Mateo does with his designs, and how amazing it was for Mateo to have been able to hide my pregnancy for so long. Mateo thanked them for the compliments and told them if they wanted to come to another show, to either let him or I know so we could block seats off for them, and excused himself, as he and Ella needed to head out. The men also told Ava how beautiful she looked up on the stage as well and she smiled and thanked them as well. I saw Ava checking out Jacob and watched as she moved around the group to where she was able to slide behind Noah and Jacob to stand and hang out. Noah was still looking awestruck at me. "I heard one of you calling out to me on the stage at a show towards the end of last year, "I love you", I believe was what was called out, twice. Which one of you did that?" I asked with a smile on my face.
"That would be me" a deep voice rang out. I looked over to my right at Michael. His piercing blue eyes stared down right into mine.
"You don't even know me, how could you love me, Michael?' I asked him.
"Actually, I do know you. I knew you in high school, and I was with Adam when we met at the grocery store. You were just upset back in October, and probably don't remember seeing me. I was two years ahead of you in school. But you were always with your friends, and you didn't date. But I do know you, I lived 2 blocks from you back in high school and I still live close by your parent's home. I am sorry you got hurt. I wish I had been home. I would have helped you out", Michael told me.
"Thank you, I appreciate that. I will be moving back with my parents soon. We are cleaning out the extra room for the babies", I told him.
"You are having twins? How far along are you? You look fantastic for being pregnant with twins", Ethan asked me.
"I am 6 months pregnant now. I was told that they could come earlier than 9 months, so we are looking at the end of May or the first two weeks of June", I told him.
"You are doing very well with your pregnancy Cora, you look really good," Ethan told me.
"Thank you so much, I am trying, I am doing better now. But for a while, I had issues with stress. I just got back from a working vacation, and I am under a lot less stress than I had been, so I am glad. I was a weeping mess a month ago", I said and cut a glance at Adam, who smiled down at me.
"Guys, I forgot to tell you the best part besides getting you all in here. I am getting a hug today, from Cora. You may not have seen it yet, but she also got a big thing of saltwater taffy and 5 big bags of Cuban coffee for us too. They are all at the station as she calls us all her "fan club". She wanted to get us something while she was on vacation because that is the kind of thoughtful person that Cora is, but I happen to know for a fact we are not her only fans. It's just someone has to stay at the station, in case a fire breaks out", Adam tells me, and then winks at me.
"I can come by the station some time. I would love to get to meet everyone. It is really close to my parent's house, so it would be no problem and I can get the guys who didn't get to come this time to come for one in two months in May", I told them. "That would be nice of you. Let us know when a good time is for you and one of us can come and get you from your parent's house. I know your family as well, although I am 6 years older than you are, and didn't go to school with you", Joseph told me with a smile and a wink, and then looked over to Michael with a smirk.
"I currently live with Ava right now. We had an incident a few months ago and my dad and I got hurt. To keep my parents safe, I moved out so they would leave them alone. Mom and Dad are clearing out the extra room for us to make up for the babies. It is just slow going as I can't help them right now. Dad feels better, and he is cancer-free, but he is still a little weak. They do a little at a time, but we still have a lot of time to get it done. Worse comes to worst, I will put up one of their beds in my room and they can share it until I can get it done after they get here. I think I could get it done by the second week. We still have some ends to tie up and until I am safe, I can't come back home to live", I told them.
"I can help, on one of my off days, I can come by and get the extra room cleaned out. I can also paint it for you, and get the cribs set up for you too. I am pretty handy, and I would like to help you, Cora", Michael told me.
"You don't have to do that, Michael; it isn't your problem. I will get it done. It will just take a little longer for me to do it. I wasn't saying it to make anyone feel like I needed help. It will all be sorted soon, and I will move back into mom and dads" I told him. "I saw what happened to you and that was only three months ago, so you were assaulted while you were pregnant, right?" Noah asked me.
"That is when I found out that I was pregnant, during the tests they ran before they would do the X-ray on my arm," I told him.
"Like I said Cora, I would like to help your parents move the items to the attic for them. They really don't have any business moving stuff around at their age, and I get time off all the time, as we work 24 hour days. So, I can help you, Cora, it isn't a problem. I wouldn't have offered if I didn't want to help you. I can grab a few friends and we can probably do it very quickly". Michael told me.
"I can help as well, Cora, with two or three of us doing this, it shouldn't take very long at all", Adam tells me.
"I don't feel good about putting you guys to work like that. You guys have a really hard job. I didn't mean to mention it to guilt or force anyone into helping me. If you two are willing to help, I would be glad to pay you for helping me", I told them. "You can pay us in pizza and beer, is that ok with you, Cora?" Michael tells me.
"We are in as well; you can pay us all in pizza and beer because we will do it on our off day. That way, you can get the room cleared out to the attic, cleaned, and painted in one day. When we get two of the walls painted, someone can start putting the cribs together over on that side of the room while the rest of the room gets painted. It shouldn't take us more than a few hours, Cora. We wouldn't offer if we didn't want to", Joseph tells me.
If you guys are OK with it, I can call in reinforcements to do the cleaning part if you guys can get the room cleared out. Then we can paint it. It would be a big help, and I would be glad to buy the pizza and beer for you all. Thank you so much, you guys are lifesavers, and I mean that seriously", I told them.
I ended up taking pictures with each of them separately and enjoyed getting to speak to them all. In the end, Adam was not the only one that got hugged, as I hugged them all before they left. Thomas teased me all the way home about my "fan" club and told me that he had money on at least two of them willing to marry me today. That made me smile as I sat back in the SUV to go home. Getting the babies' room done now was not as daunting as it had been. I really figured I would have to pay someone to do it or have to do it myself. I am really glad that I don't have to worry about it now.
