Cleo's POV

As I got back to my room I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror, confirming that the invisibility had in fact worn off. Hearing voices from outside the door I ran into the bathroom quickly stripping myself of my clothes. Turning the shower on I quickly stepped in allowing the water to soak me. "Fuck that was close!" Squeezing my arms around him I took a deep breath.

"Too close." Releasing my arms, I walked into the wardrobe throwing on some clean clothes. "Did you get it?"

"And Henrik?"

Now we just have to pray it works otherwise we have risked our lives for nothing." Pulling me to him he placed his lips on mine. "Is that normal?" Leaning his forehead against mine he kissed me again before stepping away.

"How dare you bring these people here!"

"ROSEANNE!" Roman's roar was loud enough that the frames on the wall shook causing the hairs on the back of my neck to stand on edge.

"I didn't bring anyone here!" As Roman went to remove her I stopped him wanting to dissolve the situation myself. I had nothing to hide from anyone and needed her to know it.

"If you hadn't have come here the council would not be here now. I lost everything because of them, and now I have to serve food to the very monster that took my brother's life! I will avenge him and when I do the spilled blood will be on your hands." I went to speak but Roman didn't give me the chance.

"That's enough! You do not speak to your acting Luna that way! And as for the threat you just made, I will not allow you to harm the council. One act against them and they will destroy this entire pack." Out of the corner of my eye I saw Benny and another man enter the hallway before gripping Roseanne and dragging her away. "Are you ok?" Roman spun to face me his thumb brushing over my heated cheek.

"She can certainly slap. Roman be honest, is this my fault?"

Time was running out. The next eclipse was only three days away and to get the power I longed for I needed this pup to shift. Kaylee and I had tried several methods in an attempt to force it, however she is a stubborn little thing. Something tells me she's just like her disobedient mother. The only thing we had yet to try was violence. I had never in my life second guessed myself, but something inside me refuses to physically harm the girl. That alone angers me. Kaylee on the other hand continues to surpass my expectations. In her younger years she failed at many things. Things that with her blood should have come naturally to her. Things I've seen my other child accomplish. Yet here in this dingy motel, Kaylee managed to get the pup to partially shift. Who knew that someone so new to the world have a good understanding. There was something about the way Kaylee used her demonic powers that frightened the pup. "How long do we have to remain here? I hate it."

"We will be out of here soon enough. The eclipse is on Friday which fits quite nicely. The sacrifice needs to happen in a special church. Luckily for us there are at least three in this pathetic town, so they won't be able to search them all at the same time. Not without the drawing attention to the council. There also happens to be a festival happening that day so as long as we blend in we should go unnoticed."

"But what about their weapon. If they succeed you will die father. Is the ultimate power you seek really worth your life?"
