Fated To Roman: The Almighty Alpha -
Fifty-Three
Cleo's POV
Having reached the church, we were met with a welcoming committee. The rogues from before stood united in the street, ready to fight when called upon. Yet the bitch whose life I wanted to claim for myself stood right beside Alpha Sara. Lucille was not going to be making it out of this alive. I had long ago planned to rip her to such tiny shreds that nobody could ever resurrect her again. This I had decided when Roman told me of their kiss. Sure, I should hate him for it, but Lucille had used his weakness to her advantage. She had used his love for me, and I would show that bitch exactly how bad an idea that was.
We knew we needed to get into the church; to do that, we knew we would have to fight our way in. There were at least twenty of them and only two of us. They had the numbers, but we had each other, and together we were strong. As Roman took my hand in his own, our eyes locked in understanding. No matter what happened, one of us had to survive. One of us had to get to our pup and put an end to this nightmare once and for all.
In the blink of an eye, everything changed. The rogues attacked in human and wolf form, each trying their best to take us down.
"CLEO DUCK!" Hearing Roman's warning, I did as instructed, dropping to the ground as another wolf jumped over me. Spinning on my back, I jumped back to my feet.
Pulling out a small pocket knife, I steadied myself. As a skinny grey wolf crept toward me, I wasted no time in running toward it. As it jumped, ready to kill, I sank to my knees, letting my blade slide underneath the wolf, slicing him open. I wasn't too fond of the thought of killing other wolves, I never had been, but these had chosen this path. Each of them had chosen to aid the King of Hell, and for what? Nothing he had promised them would be delivered on. Daphne was living proof of that one fact.
As I continued to fight for my life, my eyes finally found Roman. We had lost sight of each other in the chaos, but the sight before me had a newfound rage burning within me. As my mate squared off against another wolf, Lucille crept up behind him. As she raised her arm, the light reflected off the metal knife she held.
Within seconds I saw red, my arms moving as they grew warmer. Fire poured from my veins, encasing my arms as they shot forward. I'd formed a fireball and thrown it straight toward Lucille, causing her to drop her knife as she hurdled backward.
It was then I realised how stupid Kaylee really was. She may have spelled the area to prevent our wolves from coming out to play, but the silly bitch had forgotten about the blood in which we shared. And the gift that came from holding that blood.
Using this to my advantage, I created more fireballs throwing them at every wolf that crossed my path. As I went to throw yet another one, someone grabbed my wrist, twisting it around with such force that it snapped. My scream echoed off the buildings as her grip refused to budge.
"You think that hurts? Imagine the pain in my heart knowing my husband slept with a filthy home-wrecking whore like you!" Bringing me closer to her, Sara lowered her lips to my ear. "When I'm finished with you, there will be nothing left for Hades to destroy." Hearing the threat in her words, I bought my head forwards before throwing it backward, connecting the back of my head with her nose. "AH, YOU BITCH!" She screamed as she pushed me forward.
I felt her nose crack on impact, so I knew I'd broken it. However, she broke my wrist, so it was fair game. Gripping the lamppost to stop myself from falling, I spun around, my leg outstretched, sinking my foot into Sara's stomach. As she stumbled backward, landing on her back, I held my wrist level so Freya could heal me. Being a part demon, her abilities weren't wholly blocked... thankfully.
Before I had time to readjust to my surroundings, Sara was back on her feet and coming at me. Her fist caught the side of my cheek as I swiveled just in time. Bending my arm, I bought my elbow up under her chin, smiling as her teeth smashed together.

"Why can't you just DIE!" Sara hissed, her eyes turning black as she shifted into her wolf.
Just as I got into a defense position, a fireball flew past me, incinerating Sara's wolf to nothing more than a pile of dust.
"Looks like we didn't miss the party." I never in a million years thought I'd be happy to hear his voice, but I couldn't be more grateful in this moment.
Axel jogged past me, rushing to Roman's side as he faced off against the final eight wolves. I watched in awe of how natural the fire element came to Axel before remembering he'd had a lifetime to learn. Forcing my eyes away from my mate and his father, I scanned the area for Lucille, but she was gone.
"That's the street blocked. No humans will get through anytime soon, which should give us the time we need. Come on, Cleo, let's replace that mate of mine."
"You're going to help? Why, if she dies, there's a chance that you...."
"Will die, I know. Though I'm praying otherwise, now come on." As I watched Roman deal with the last few rogues, I followed Kai.
"I'm assuming the elders don't know your loose."
"Nope, Dad let me out because he knew you guys would fail without me."
"Head swell much." I couldn't help the chuckle that left my lips. I hadn't known him long, but it was clear Kai was a good guy. Sure, he was a little immature, but his parents had raised him right.
As Kai and I reached the church, the screams of an infant's cry came from inside. Freya was snarling in my mind as she pushed and pushed on the veil that kept her restrained.
"I need to get in there, Kai!"
"And you will, don't worry." Hearing her scream get louder, I couldn't take the waiting anymore.
Closing my eyes, I focused on all my hate and used it to form one giant fireball. As the heat grew uncomfortable, the force of my scream flung it straight into the barrier surrounding the church.
