From Here to Ecstasy
Chapter 34 - Promises Kept

Recap:

“I tried so hard with you. I tried to teach you peace. I was watching when you were born. I noticed the darkness in you then. I watched as your father left you to cry. Your mom tried to teach you love, but your father would beat her if she did. Matter of fact, he beat her to death and blamed it on a rogue. Your brother has a chance to redeem himself, you, not at all,” the Moon Goddess told him.

“I can…”

Griffith's POV

I was sad another wolf was gone. My grandmother broke his neck, crying over his body. I watched her walk over Alex, pulling him into a hug and apologizing. My heart hurt. I was tired of seeing wolves go bad. It literally hurt me every time I had to kill someone. I knew our world was violent at times, but it hurt all the same. I knew it hurt my grandma even worse. She made each wolf, causing her to have a closer connection to us.

My grandma went around hugging everyone. She walked over to me and kissed my cheek. As I was hugging her she disappeared from my arms, doing to me what she does to my mom. I guess it was my turn to be picked on.

I turned towards Alex as he was talking to Kaley. “Alex, you still need to get through our dads.”

“Speak of the twin devils and they shall appear,” Trace whisper yelled as our dads showed up.

“So, Alex, you’re Kaley’s mate?” Blaine asked as he looked Alex up and down as if he didn't add up.

“Yes, sir, I’m her mate. I will treat her right. I have a lot to atone for, but I will. And, I promise I will not mark until she asks me to.” Blaine cut his eyes over to Alex’s. “After she’s sixteen, sir.”

One of our dads, Blaine, nodded his head as Zane walked over. “I’m sure you will. You need to heed the Moon Goddess words. She will keep your wolf and you will die. I hope you remember those words. I know our daughter can take care of herself. She won’t let you get by with anything. Keep your eyes to yourself or you’ll lose her. Do you understand?”

“Yes, sir, I understand perfectly. I didn’t know I had a mate and I wish I hadn’t listened to my dad’s teachings. I feel like a fool now. My eyes will ever be on my mate. No one else can compare.”

“Good,” Blaine commented and smiled. “Now you need to get by her mother. She does not suffer fools and she doesn’t like to be made a fool of. She’s a lot tougher than any of us. Piss her off at your own risk.”

I watched as Alex’s eyes got larger and he went pale. “Yes, sir.”

I seriously thought Alex was about to faint. His skin turned as pale as a vampyre. Our dads were not bull shitting him. Mom would be tougher on him. Her girls weren’t going to get hurt or she would rip someone a new asshole.

“And, the she-devil appears,” Chase told us, making sure Alex heard him.

“Thanks, Chase. Love the introduction,” my mom chirped as she showed up.

I rolled my eyes at their theatrics. I knew they were trying to scare Alex - which was working. Boy was it working. I watched as Alex staggered as if he was about to go down, but he steadied himself and bowed his head. My mom turned her head to me and winked, knowing what I was thinking. Great, the shit is about to hit the fan. Our mom loved her theatrics. She had fooled many people with her acting skills.

“So, you’re the maggot who my sweet daughter was paired with? Someone tell me what the Moon Goddess was smoking when she paired these two?” My mom asked as she walked back and forth in front of Alex.

“Something really good,” Trace answered with a cheeky smile.

“Why would it be good,” Chase asked Trace.

“Because she had to be higher than a kite,” Trace commented as our mom started laughing, us following her.

“Who have you been hanging around with?” I asked Trace as he fidgeted, digging the toe of his sneakers in the dirt.

“Trace!” Our mom snapped. “Who have you been hanging around with?”

“Uh, wasn’t this about Alex?” Our mom gave him the eye, you know the one that tells you, you are in deep shit. “Well, uh, Maximus, okay? It was King Maximus.”

“Okay, back to Alex it is,” our mom teased Trace, while startling Alex when she walked closer to him.

I could tell Kaley was trying to keep in a laugh, coughing instead. Yeah, cause she didn’t want the evil eye, too. Dear old Alex was trying to keep from passing out or pissing himself, his thoughts.

“Are you going to treat my daughter right or am I going to have to kill you?” Were the first words out of our mom’s mouth.

“No, I mean, Yes.” He cleared his throat. “I’ll treat her as if she was a precious mineral, like gold, a princess. I will make her happy and proud to have me as a mate. I will try to bring love, laughter, and silliness to our bond. I will love her until the end of days, no, I will love her for an eternity.”

I heard Kaley’s thoughts on the declaration. She was willing to give him a chance. But, if he messed up one time she would let him go. She couldn’t deal with someone who thought of women as objects, as arm candy. She couldn’t deal with someone who was a rapist and a murder. He had one shot, not three.

Alpha Zane nodded his head. “Alright, Alex, you have one shot. If you mess up you won’t be breathing for long. If Kaley doesn’t kill you then the Blane, the Moon Goddess, her mom, or I will kill you. That is not a threat, it’s a promise. Don’t look at another woman with lust. Don’t touch another woman. And, by all means, no killing unless you’re in battle. Alpha Griffith is your leader and you are to listen to what he says at all times. Think you can handle those rules?”

Alex nodded his head vigorously. “Yes, sir, I can handle those rules. I would do anything for Kaley, but also for myself. I will break my father’s teachings.” Blaine and Zane disappeared from in front of Alex, causing him to jump.

“Come on, pack. We need to get some sleep,” I remarked as I walked over to Willow.

I could see she was about to fall on her face. I knew she was worn out. I was too. We had a long day. I might have been out for a while but I was still sleepy. I was thankful for my sister. She took away all of my pain. I haven’t been out of pain since I was six and decided I could fly.

I took Willow and changed her into one of my dress shirts, trying very hard not to check out her body. It was hard not to look. She was beautiful, scars and all. She was shaped like an hourglass. Her breasts were big. She had a small waist and a tight little but. I was trying to keep down Griffith junior, but it was impossible. I guess I was going to bed with a hard-on.

I laid her down on her pillow, pushing her long hair out of her face and kissing her on the head. I changed into sleep pants and climbed in bed next to her, pulling her close to me.

She woke up and looked up at me. “Is that a rocket in your pocket or are you happy to see me?” She asked as she turned around to face me.

I laughed. “It’s not a rocket. And, I’m always happy to see you.”

“Well, I think we need to take care of your big problem or we will never get any sleep.”

I was on board with her plan, but I didn’t want to push her when she was tired. She needed to catch up on her sleep. She needed to eat more. She needed...

“Stop thinking, Griffith. I want you and I won’t be able to sleep if you don’t make love to me." She looked me in the eyes. "Now, are you on board?”
