From Here to Ecstasy -
Chapter 52 - Witch, Duh
Recap:
“Said the person with blood on her face and a messed up leg,” Willow snarled back.
“Woo-hoo! Look at our mate. She’s beautiful and fierce,” Blaze, my wolf stated as he jumped up and down in the back of my mind.
“I know, right?” I told him as I smiled at my wolf’s enthusiasm.
I was startled out of my talk with my wolf when I heard…
Griffith’s POV
I was startled out of my talk with my wolf when I heard a crash coming from the challenge circle, making my heart jump to my throat. I was trying hard not to run into the challenge ring and protect my mate. No one could interfere or it would be the downfall for the person who was challenged or the challenger according to werewolf law.
I saw Willow go down hard on her back, Amy following her down. Willow wasn’t making a sound as she was punched in the face. But, I knew that Willow and Asher would only let her have one hit.
Willow teleported out from under Amy, pissing off the she-bitch. I saw Willow smirk at her as Amy had a shocked expression on her face. “What the hell? Why don’t you have a mark on you? I know I punched you right on the nose,” Amy whined as if she were a two-year-old.
Willow rolled her eyes at Amy. “Witch, duh,” she sarcastically said as she glared at Amy.
“That’s it, bitch! I’m going to beat into submission, then I will kill you dead!” Amy yelled, letting out a growl.
“Well, what are you waiting for, an engraved invitation to your death?”
I wanted to laugh at Willow. Her comments were great. She was riling Amy up, but Amy was being cautious. I didn’t know why Willow was stalling, but I was sure she and Asher had a plan on what they would do. It looked as if they were tearing her self esteem down and making her doubt herself. It was a tactic our mother taught us. Tire out your opponent and belittle them, making them think you are more fierce than you really are. It also made the opponent sloppy. I heard a loud roar, noticing my head was in the clouds again. I looked up quickly, not realizing I had lowered my head as I was thinking.
Willow had blood on her claws and Amy was holding her side, looking at Willow as if she couldn’t believe she got a hit in or how she did it as fast as she did. I could read Amy’s thoughts and they weren’t good. I was about to call out to Willow, but Amy reached behind her and pulled a blade and needle filled with nastiness.
What the fuck?
I noticed Willow nod her head and knew Asher was telling her what to do. I just hoped she wasn’t touched by either one of Amy’s weapons, and they were weapons. Legally Willow could step out of the challenge ring and someone else could kill her, but I knew Willow would do no such thing.
Willow roared loudly, making Amy fall to her knees and tilt her head to the side, showing her neck to Willow. “Drop the blade and the needle! Now!” She roared, causing Amy to jump and drop her weapons. “You have violated the laws of a challenge. I could ask my mate to kill you but I won’t.” Willow walked over and grabbed the weapons, throwing them to me as she nodded her head and told me about the poison and who had made it.
“Get up and fight me like a true warrior! You’ve been nothing but a pussy in this challenge ring. For someone who talked so highly of herself, I expected better from you. So, are we going to fight as we were supposed to when you challenged me, or are you going to walk out of the challenge circle and be killed anyway?”
I nodded my head at Willow when she looked at me, but my eyes widened when I saw Amy pull out another blade, causing me to walk as fast as I could to the challenge ring. I was wishing I hadn’t stepped so far back, but I wasn’t sure if I could stop myself from interfering.
Willow jumped above Amy’s head, the air helping to keep her up. She reached down and quickly put one hand on the side of her head and another one at the back of her head, twisting it quickly and breaking her neck as Amy tried to stab her with the blade.
I ran to her and picked her up, checking to make sure she didn’t have any injuries. I could hear the cheering for Willow that was going on around us, but I didn’t care. I heard her grunt as Asher separated himself from her body. I was proud to call her my mate. I was proud to start with, but she proved herself to everyone, plus no one knew Asher helped her. If they found out I could care less.
“I did it, Griffith!” She shouted out, making me laugh at her excitement. She looked around her and blushed. “Can someone please take her and get her ready for funeral rites? She may have been a nasty person but she should still have a funeral.”
A man stepped out of the crowd with tears in his eyes. I was worried he would try to come to my mate. I pushed her behind me as he walked up.
“I just wanted to say thank you to your mate, Alpha,” the man, Will, said.
Willow pushed herself until she was beside me. “Thank me for what?”
“She was my mate but she rejected me and started some shady business, but she bothered me and my second chance mate. You saved us from her bugging us for the rest of our lives. She was a nasty, vindictive, whore of a wolf, but she was still my mate - even though I couldn’t stand her. She didn’t want us to be happy,” Will explained as he bowed his head to Willow.
“I did it for our pack. She would have never left us alone either. But, I’m happy to know you found your second chance mate and she won’t be bothering you either,” Willow told him.
He leaned closer to my mate. “She was working for the bruja. There’s two of them, well, one is something else. She tried to recruit me, but I wasn’t having any of it. Please be careful.”
“We will be taking care of them soon enough. Congratulations on your second chance mate and your pups,” Willow whispered as she leaned back against me.
“Pups? We don’t have pups. We’ve been trying for a while now,” Will remarked, a confused look on his face.
“Oops. Sorry, I don’t know why I could tell your mate is pregnant, but I can. I promise you I’m not making it up, right, Griffith?” Willow asked, worried she made a mistake.
“She’s right. You’re having twin pups. I’m not sure what the sex is but you’re finally getting your pups,” Griffith agreed. “Congratulations.”
I heard Will tell his mate, Maddy, that they were pregnant. Maddy looked at me and started jumping up and down in happiness. I watched her run to her mate and jump on him. “I’m pregnant?”
“Yes, honey, you are. According to Luna and Alpha, we are having twins,” Will explained to his wife as her eyes rolled to the back of her head. “Well, shit! I guess I should have surprised her with the news after we got home.”
All of us laughed at him. I knew he was one of my warrior’s. I liked him and I knew he was honest to the bone. I needed to have a talk with him. I would love to have him as the Gamma, but he would need to try out like the rest of the pack.
“Later on I would like to speak to you, but when we are alone, okay?” I asked as I smiled at him, letting him know it wasn’t something bad.
Will looked up at me, a scared expression on his face until he saw my smile. He smiled back and blew out a huge breath. “No problem, Alpha.”
Before Will could ask, I spoke, “I’ll mind-link you the time.” He bowed his head and picked up his mate and walked off, a huge smile on his face.
“I think you made his day, honey,” Willow laughed out as she squeezed me hard.
“You started it,” I told her as I stuck my tongue out at her as if I were a two-year-old.
She laughed at me. “I can think of better things you can do with your tongue,” she whispered and blushed when she saw her parents right next to me.
Her father laughed at her. “Goddess, she sounds so much like her mother, not something a dad would want to hear. I don’t want to know about your sex life, but I do want gandpups.”
“Oh Goddess, I’m so embarrassed.” She looked at her dad and smirked, still blushing. “How do you think pups are made?”
Her dad blushed, causing Willow, her mom and I to laugh. I had never seen a grown man blush. But, I knew Willow was like her dad, too. She looked a lot like her mom, but she had her dad’s eyes and hair color. She got her face shape from her mother, thank the Goddess.
"I have a question." We all looked at Willow. "How in the hell did I growl so loud?"
