Gilded captive heart -
Chapter 35
Nova's heart pounded in her chest as she realized the gravity of her situation. Her captors were preparing to leave the planet, and if she didn't act swiftly, she might never have another chance to escape. Determination surged within her, driving her to replace a way out of her dire predicament.
As she scanned her cramped cell, her eyes landed on a discarded piece of metal, a small shard from a broken panel. With trembling hands, she picked it up, her mind racing with thoughts of picking the locks on her cuffs. It was a risky endeavor, but she had no other choice.
Carefully, Nova inserted the shard into the lock mechanism, her heart racing with each delicate movement. She had never attempted such a feat before, but desperation was a powerful motivator. Minutes felt like hours as she worked tirelessly, sweat forming on her brow.
Finally, with a soft click, one of the cuffs released its grip on her wrist. Nova stifled a triumphant gasp, realizing she had a chance at freedom. She swiftly freed herself from the remaining restraints and moved to the cage door.
She cautiously peered outside, scanning for any signs of her captors. The ship was eerily quiet, and it seemed her captors were preoccupied with their preparations. This was her moment.
Nova silently unlocked the cage door and slipped out, moving stealthily through the dimly lit corridors of the ship. She knew that getting off the vessel undetected was her only chance. The brothers might be searching for her, but she couldn't rely on that hope alone.
As she crept through the ship's narrow passageways, Nova's heart raced with each step. Her mind raced, formulating a plan to escape before it was too late. She had to replace a way off the ship and back to the planet's surface, where she hoped to reunite with the brothers and put an end to this nightmarish ordeal once and for all.
